We are regular visitors to cote brasserie & this is the worst experience we have had. Service extremely slow, were not asked if wanted drinks, after ordering wine had to remind them to deliver to table. Food not up to usual standards
Really nice food and a good atmosphere. Friendly service and our meal arrived really quickly which was great. Really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be coming back!
I have been several times but the service wasnt quite what we have been used to We were shown to our table and left quite a while before anyone took our order The place wasnt that busy. However once the food came is was very good we had the lunch menu.
Excellent as usual. Food service venue great value. Best Cotes in our opinion we have ever visited. Very welcoming and we are always remembered by staff.
We all really enjoyed our meal last night. We each chose a different main course and the food was well prepared and presented. we have already decided what we will have next time we eat here. There is enough space to have our own conversation without hearing the next table's. The staff were busy but very efficient (good training).
Always have a good meal here with attentive service. If I was to offer one criticism it is that the wine list is a little restricted...but hey, that's being pernickety!
Very good service and the food was excellent and beautifully presented. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and we weren't rushed. Will certainly be visiting Cote again soon.
Another lovely evening dining at the Cote. We've dined may times at their restaurants in St Albans, Hertford, Cambridge and Norwich and all of them never disappoint.
Attentive staff leading to an enjoyable meal. Good choice of food which is excellently cooked to perfection. Was busy but this did not detract from the service provided.
Great food & service to match. Will keep on going. Good Breakfast selection & not expensive either. Never been dissapointed which is rare in these days
Lovely food as always. Service good to start but got progressively worse through the evening with us having to ask for plates to be cleared etc. However they still charge their 12.5% gratuity!!!
Great service, we sat in the garden on a beautiful sunny day. Waiting staff helped accommodate us with 2 babies. Food fresh and tasty, wine delicious!
"Special" scallops rather drowned by salad & dressing. Under-cooked Fennel with damp overcooked seabass. Creme caramel v. nice. Intrusively noisy female birthday group 15 yards away frequently made hearing companions difficult. Pleasant service
Very good service and food. The value is always great. I think this is one of Cote's best restaurants. Will definitely return in the near future.
Great food and great service. Staff always polite and very pleasant to deal with. Ordered the fillet steak with green beans and tomato salad and it was marvellous. Never had a poor meal at Cote in St.Albans.
This restaurant is a real gem. Booked online for a party of 8 for Saturday night dinner and everyone loved their food. The well trained staff were attentive, helpful and accommodated all dietary requirements. The food was delicious! I had seared scallops as a starter followed by risotto. I would definitely recommend.
Lovely lunch time ambience, food from set lunch menu not quite as good as we've had before, but on the whole a lovely lunch, my Mum and I split the "fixed price lunch" we shared the starter (plenty)!enjoyed a main course each and the had a "chocolate pot" with two spoons - with the complimentary filters water a most enjoyable Friday lunch.
Sat near the door and cold, small portions friends portion larger then mine. Not up to the usual standard and. It busy at all. Home down hill
We met with friends for lunch. The atmosphere was perfect for real catch up conversations with attentive but not intrusive service and the 'background music' was not a pain; The menu offer was varied and with items to convince all to indulge; and the food was good and carefully prepared and presented. Good Staff with sensitive judgement and adaptability this made the whole event a pleasure with a reasonable price tag. Thank you !
Great food - nicely cooked and well presented. Good value. We had the three course set menu which had a good choice of dishes. Friendly and helpful staff

Really excellent value - good service very good deal on meal 2 courses £10.95 up to 7 pm - also noticed wine/champagne not overpriced and good quality - definitely would recommend and go again!
Great food, had the 3 course special before 7pm. The atmosphere was good and not too noisy. The staff are very professional and friendly Recommended
Great food, service wasn't brilliant and wasn't pleased with 12.5% gratuity being added automatically. Will be coming back in the near future. Thank you. Vv
Visited st albans last night, once again the staff were very attentive and food amazing. We like the menu because it's different and choices suit all tastes. Well Done
Food/cooking was good value. French beer was pretty mediocre - but then it always is! Service polite and attentive. The decor and ambiance is good.
It was a busy day so it may be the reason the steak was on the cool side and the special dessert seemed overtired and overcooked. Not up to their usual best, felt a bit like a chain restaurant meal - which for many years it has managed to rise well above.
Always enjoyable, quality of food excellent and Mothers Day glass of champagne went down very well with my wife. If I had any criticism they didn't have any marmalade for our toast!!!
The service was good and attentive and ambience fine but the quality of food could be improved. Looked like re-heating of vegetables; dried out potatoes.
good food good choice well looked after sensible portions good waiter better than raymond blanc and cafe rouge thoughtful touch of water carafe not sure about the 12.5% service
Very enjoyable as usual. Food consistently good with a nice variety of specials. We enjoy coming and use Cote St Albans quite regularly. Thank you
Food was delicious. Service was very nice. Ambiance at the time we went (5pm- very late lunch!) was very loud, full of young parents and very noisy babies! The restaurant would benefit from a general 'tart up' its starting to look very tired.
Service was efficient and the food was excellent, as always. Despite it being a busy day (Mothering Sunday) the staff were extremely welcoming and did not appear overwhelmed. Our main courses arrived quickly and were very hot. Dessert was faultless too. And the final bill very reasonable. My mum really enjoyed her meal :)
st albans cote not as good as the welwyn garden city branch the food and the general look of the place the glutton free food is always a good choice
Great french menu - just enough choice but always enjoyable. Attentive staff who know when to leave alonne as well as aware. Always enjoy visiting Cote.

Nice restaurant. Parking available about 5 minutes walk away. It was the usual Cote experience - good food & service. Reasonably priced with specials. Very good desserts.
Very good food and friendly staff. The breakfast was great but still have problems getting hot toast. Their formule breakfast is good value. Will definitely return.
Was rather chilly in the St Albans branch last night as air con on full blast, so we were reallocated seating nearer the back. Unfortunately, this seemed to be the noisy area and couldn't hear the waiter. Overall (once noisy people gone) though the experience was good. Service was very good and food average, if a little overpriced. The best part were the delicious desserts, creme brulee and creme caramel, amazing.
Very enjoyable meal. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nice ambiance in the restaurant and not too noisy. Courses served in good time with no delays, even though we were dining on a Friday night and the restaurant was full. The rewards scheme is very helpful for advance booking and allowed us to get a table in the restaurant at 3 hours notice.
Not the busiest of nights so ambiance was a bit lacking but compensated for by helpful and attentive staff during a relaxed and unrushed dinner. Excellent whitebait was a starter highs pot.
Food pretty good, , more vegetarian options needed with out nuts. Service quite quick and friendly. Front door needed fixing as kept banging with a draught.
Visited 29.4.17 but two dishes on the menu not available which we were not told about by the waitress; only found out when we tried to order them. Found alternatives on the menu and the manageress very kindly deducted something from the bill to compensate. All in all would visit Cote again.
Fillet steak poor very tough, spoilt the evening. Service nothing special not worth 12.5% that was added to the bill. The steak was replaced with a duck dish but this was also tough and chewy. Will not be coming again.
Great food and service as usual. The only thing I really don't like is the "optional 12.5% service" which I know I can ask to be left off but the restaurant really should not add it on in the first place.
As usual the food and service were up to their usual standard. Perhaps a variation to their early menu including say a salad for a main course as it it coming up to summer would be good.
Three of us visited for a weekday lunch and all enjoyed it. We had Friendly and attentive service. Great food and a pleasant environment. Were looking forward to returning.
First visit to Côte - St. Albans. Early table as time was tight, warm greeting by pleasant knowledgable staff. Light and comfortable, professional service and great food. To be recommended as I'll visit again
We booked for lunch at Cote in St. Albans on Mothers Day. We have been coming to Cote in St. Albans alot over the years but for the price charged we were very surprised how small the portion size has become - particularly the Belly of Pork, the duck and the lamb shank - I have large boys and they left hungry!!!. My husband had the tuna salad and there was no real flavouring on the salad. Finally the liqeur coffees we ordered were the smallest I have ever seen and ridiculous priced at £4.95. Disappointing for the price and we won't be returning.
We chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration and we're not disappointed. A very good menu and attentive staff made for a very nice meal at this restaurant.
Came for Mother's Day brunch-Lovely food, service wasn't as good as I expected it to be-our waiter wasn't very warm or efficient or clear of what we wanted for our order. Our drinks took a long time to come- I appreciate it was a busy time but think it could have been prepared for a bit better knowing it was going to a busy period. Having said this we would come again, just a few tweeks needed to be even more successful and sharp!
Excellent food with a very good and varied menu. Friendly atmosphere with the right sort of ambience for a relaxed evening. Service was swift without being overpowering! Creme brulee is to die for!!!
