One of the more impressive restaurant chains - what you see is what you get. Service was friendly and efficient, one of the most important things when eating out.

the chicken with garlic sauce and chips was very tasty and the meal a reasonable price. Good service with staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive.

Lovely lovely food as normal but service not as good as usual. A little bit slap dash and disinterested tonight. Usually Cote is top notch on service

Food and service were good. The aircon was next to useless and it was hot and humid as a result. I advise you to sit at the front near the door or at the back on their terrace. If neither is available I would personally go elsewhere in the current weather.

Lovely restaurant - very friendly branch. We sat outside. Meal was very enjoyable as usual. There'd been a run on rose wine at lunchtime so they had none chilled and kindly offered us complimentary kir royales while the wine was cooled. Not often in St Albans but would definitely go again.

Great breakfast, very good value for all you get: juice, breakfast and tea £10 plus extra toast and jam. Today was the best service yet at this branch

The restaurant was spotlessley clean and welcoming. We were greeted by Laura who was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. No rush to order and helpful advice given by her. All our plates werre excellent - my Breton chicken really outstanding. We ordered a couple of sides, creamed spinach and galazed carrots. Easy to overlook such dishes and just serve some "vegetables". But both of these were excellent and very moorish! Same can be said for deserts. Reasonably priced Merlot and chilled complimentary water flagons completed the clean sweep for a 5 star dinner at this Cote. I have eatrebn here on several occasions and the consistancy is outstanding, particularly in terms of inter-personal communuication between servers and customers. Well done to all, especially the management team - your friendliness and positivity filters down!

Good food. No "silly" dishes. I could order/eat most items on the menu. Free wine offer has finished but we were not aware of this until our visit. They gave us a bottle anyway. A good mainstay in St. Albans.

Good food, good service - staff very friendly. The menu is varied and several of us had something from the specials menu. The only problem, which the staff were aware of, was the heat. Another customer had asked for the air con to be turned off because they were cold. We were extremely hot and one friend had to go out because she was too hot. Not sure why others had to roast (along with the staff) for the sake of one person. We were all dressed in sleeveless clothes so couldn't take anything off!

Food was ok, nothing to be excited about but perfectly decent. Biggest down for me was the restaurant was very empty so lacked atmosphere. Also got sat next to the bar so had to listen to the head waitress chivvying the waitresses constantly. These things should be done quietly.

Warm friendly welcome. Service was very attentive and speedy initially but afterwards seemed to dwindle off. Our menu choices were ok but a bit lacklustre and samey. We have eaten in several other Cotes in recent times and have enjoyed the experience rather more.

Been going there frequently and been given vouchers for registering rewards. When we try to redeem the rewards the restaurant now say they have stopped it and that the vouchers are not valid anymore. Very poor customer service in this regard which is a shame for the staff and food is very good

We went for an early evening meal after picking my son up from work. The my son and wife had a meal from the set menu whilst I went for the main. Apart from my wife having very undercooked potatoes it was tasty and good value for money. They removed the price of one desert to compensate for the undercooked potatoes. The service was good and the staff friendly Peter

Five of us had great steaks, my sister's was sent back once for being overcooked it was replaced with a new steak just as over cooked. She said it was like the sole of a shoe. As we waited ten minutes for her second steak we did not return it as we would have all finished the meal before hers arrived.

The food and service were great but the overall noise level made it difficult to hear one another which spoils the meal. The trend for solid floors and no drapes means there's nothing to absorb the chat from some of your more exuberant customers. Though a hot evening the restaurant felt overly cool and draughty.
