Côte St Albans

Cote has consistently good quality of food and of service every time we go. I would recommend this, as long as you eat meat or dairy. Not great for vegans, as with most French restaurants.

Nice place. They were a little rushed today, tho. My 'medium' steak was definitely 'well done'. The table nearby had more issues than us tho'.

From the first moment we arrived to the time left it was the most wonderful evening. Amazing food, great service and fabulous company. We all opted for the Anniversary menu complete with a glass of champagne, and it was value for money. My son said it was one of the best meals he had had in a long time, and from a good homely cook it was praise indeed. The atmosphere is relaxing and I'm looking forward to returning. Thank you to every one at the Cote Brasserie St Albans.

Friendly and the food was really nice. With the specials menu, it became a really reasonably priced meal and if in the area I would return again.

Good food , good service and good atmosphere. Good choice on the menu. Have been to many Cote resaurants and this one is my favourite.

Lovely meal, efficient and friendly service. Had an issue with the green beans and had to send them back twice as they had far too much bite. Would certainly go back.

Food was excellent but service was a little slow to start with as it was a Saturday evening and they were quite busy with a large party.

The menu had lots of variation and I was spoilt for choice. I chose the duck and it was cooked to perfection and tasted lovely. The staff were attentive and there was a very relaxing atmosphere.

Easy to book online and to get a table last minute on a Saturday night, the restaurant is decorated nicely and was comfortable, although the noise level quite high. The food was excellent, although my partner said his chicken was a little dry and the menu choice is fantastic and service good too.

Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, The staff were very welcoming, very friendly. To top It the food was very good too! Will be going back.

This was our first time at Cote in St Albans. A beautiful large restaurant with outside space too. We were welcomed immediately and shown to our table . We explained we needed to eat quickly as we only had 1 hour . I had sea bream with a side order of frite . My mum ordered The Breton chicken we had to wait a while for the food . When it arrived we both agreed it was delicious we then ordered the Tart fine aux pommes which was outstanding as ever . Would recommend this to everyone I love Cote as I've never had a bad meal in any of its restaurants. Great food , great service.

Poor service, non existent atmosphere. Ordered a burger which arrived cremated. They did provide a replacement on the house, however it did not make up for a very dismal experience.

the food was reliable as always but quite quiet for a Saturday evening so lacked its usual buzzy atmosphere. staff pleasant as always. The only disappointment was that the creme caramel had not been a success in the kitchen that day so a creme brulee was substituted on the set anniversary menu.

Restaurant and service extremely good. Only disappointment was main course steak. For £18.50 it was very tough and dry and the French fries on the side came in a very small portion. The beans were nice but obviously have to pay extra for those. Very overpriced.

Excellent value for money. Good food wine and service and St. Albans is definitely one of Cote best restaurants of their Group. Thank you to all the staff again.

This is such a consistently good restaurant. The staff work very hard to ensure you're not forgotten on a very busy Saturday evening. Try the 10 year celebratory menu, great value for money and some lovely dishes.

A great place for our regular Friday evening treat. The staff are always friendly and helpful and we are always made to feel welcome. A good choice of menu options and we love that it changes summer and winter. This time we were offered the Anniversary set menu which we chose to take advantage of. Well priced and lovely to start with a chilled glass of champagne. All in all I would highly recommend St Albans branch. Keep up the great work team!! :-)

Excellent service, great food with a lovely atmosphere. Every time we eat at Cote, we know that it will be just as good as last time!

Waitress was pleasant and helpfull restaurant clean and tidy food was good. Not a good selection of beers , seating was good will go again

As always the meal and staff were great, two of our party are gluten intolerant so it is great that we know they can always eat what they like . Also their order is taken by a manager so that there can be no mistakes. Great work keep it up

A very nice lunch served by friendly staff in a pretty restaurant and the price was fair too. We will be going again when in St. Alban

Lovely restaurant, parking difficult on Market Days. Good food, excellent service, staff very polite and helpful. Choice of food for me was rather restricted as I do not eat meat and for some reason the fish dishes now include meat

The food was very good, but the service was very quick, leaving us feeling a little bit rushed by the staff. Lovely to see the crab mayonnaise back on the anniversary menu.

Delicious food, good choice of wines and drinks, attentive waiting staff who didn't hurry us along. Shame they forgot to bring the coffees though! Lovely outside area, with heaters.

We had the duck with cherries, the sauce was so good that we asked for spoons to eat the last drops on our plates which we couldn't eat with a knife and fork.

Excellent! It was for my wife's birthday - and we had a very good meal. The service was excellent as well. Altogether a very good experience.

Good food and service . fish stew was quite small portion . not busy on a Wednesday night slightly lacking atmosphere. Were seated in area away from main part and felt slightly removed

Waiting staff were lovely but service was terrible. Perhaps short staffed but it gets tiring when you're asking for your drinks twice, they get your order wrong, you're asking for the dessert menu and Bill several times

Lovely place to go to at lunch time as it was quiet and waitresses were attentive. We both ordered salads and it was perfect for a lunchtime meal.

It was a very good evening when the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional service. The first waitress was very informative and guided through the menu with all the usual Cote knowledge

I would say the food was good as well as the atmosphere! the portions and price of the dishes were just right and would happily go there again.

Excellent food and service and I enjoyed a pleasant evening with an old friend. The July special cod was a great choice for the menu.

The food was excellent and the cuisine was very French (not always guaranteed with a French restaurant). The service was pretty good although I resent having the service charge added to the bill it should be truly optional not an optional part of the bill. I would return though

Good food, good service and good company made this a great night out. It was a nice change to be able to talk without having to shout to be heard, as you do in a lot of restaurants nowadays.

My daughter and I went the St Albans Cote to celebrate my birthday (on the day) and were given a complimentary kir royale which was a lovely surprise. Steak fites was wonderful and we enjoyed a very relaxing evening with excellent service.

A12.5% 'optional ' service charge is added to the bill regardless of party size. I thing this is cheeky to say the least. I always tip but don't help yourself to my pocket!

Food is great, service is poor and yet you automatically add service charge - probably because no one would voluntarily pay it - lets you down.

A memorable evening booked as a surprise for a birthday celebration, good food with lots of choice and excellent service from pleasant staff, will return if we are in the area again.

Never disappointed with Cote Brasserie - St Albans. Staff always attentive but not intrusive. Food always good. Drink always good. What is there not to like!

excellent value with good friendly service. Garden was nice in the warm weather, too. Sensible selection of wines for the level of cote. We loved it.

The food was very good as usual and so was the service. We booked for a celebratory dinner and phoned ahead to remind, at which time we were assured they knew. And then nothing! Especially frustrating as my daughter sat there and watched someone else being made feel very special
