Côte St Albans

Cote is usually consistent and reliable and I have only ever been into one that was really disappointing but it was absolutely not St Albans. Our waitress on Sunday was a delight.

Lovely food, great service and very friendly staff. We arrived around 6.30 and left around 10, very comfortable atmosphere. We took advantage of the three course set menu for £13.99, great value and potions were a good size.

Excellent food & service again, dropped a point when waitress started collecting my partners starter crockery while I was still clearly eating the last of mine!!!

Enjoyable unhurried lunch from a good range of reliable options. Good value in a convenient town centre location. A decent wine list at reasonable prices. Friendly service.

My firs time at cote brasserie, we enjoyed our visit.We had the set lunch plus1 side dish, good value, we plan to visit again soon.

We always enjoy the food and service here, particularly the duck and pork belly. The mood lighting could have been a little brighter though when reading the menu.

It was a very nice place to go for Valentine's day. The food was exquisite, and I was extremely pleased with proper French food which is not easy t find in the area. I though the food was better in some restaurants I have been in Paris. So totally worth it :)

Very friendly welcome and excellent service and food. Although the restaurant was very busy we experienced no delay in our meal at all,and would certainly return to this restaurant again

The food was lovely and the service was quick but great and the restaurant has a really wonderful atmosphere. Would highly recommend and shall be returning.

Steak tough and beans undercooked my guests were happy with their servings. Will not be coming there again. Also found it very noisy - no carpeting to deaden sound.

The food and service were very good. It was a tad noisy for our taste but it was Saturday lunch time and busy. The busyness didn't detract from the service and the staff were good humoured

Our dinner was perfect, like always. Hot taste on time good service, nothing to complain :) we are going to be back again and again and again.

Very disappointed, A very limited set menu because it was Valentines night (didn't seem busier than a usual Saturday night} and also understaffed, so service was slow but when we were attended it felt that they were stressed and rushed. I appreciate Valentines night will be busy, however it shouldn't excuse the fact that what was available, Salmon in particular, was finished at 8 pm as they had ran out.

The service was quite slow when it came to pay to the point where we were contemplating putting our coats on and going up to the front desk to pay. I wanted to order the mussels from the menu but was told their were no mussels. Then, throughout the evening multiple dishes of mussels were served to others in the restaurant.

Very pleasant evening with two friends. We all chose from the early dining set menu. Food was well cooked and presented. Service was friendly and attentive. Would recommend and return.

Although the surroundings were pleasant and most of the staff polite and helpful, out waitress was a bit rude. Obviously didn't want to be there and got our order wrong. The food was tasty, but when I'm buying from a set menu, I don't expect to be told that two of the items are not available. The wine accompanying was pretty terrible too. We didn't drink mist of it. Service charge is automatically added, which I did leave. Not great. Would I go back............ maybe.

Pleasant atmosphere, staff were friendly polite professional and attentive. We needed to sit in a light area which was no problem. Will certainly go back.

Should be running a full set menu up to 7 o’clock but waiter admitted there were items missing as they were being saved for the more expensive valentines meal! Not impressed Cote!

So friendly. For a chain they make you feel like they’re an independent restaurant. We felt like we were the only customers in the restaurant, even though it was busy. It was my husbands birthday and they looked after us wonderfully.

We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch today. The fixed menu offered a wide choice of attractive starters and making a selection was difficult - those we chose were excellent as was the venison main dish we both selected. All the food was nicely cooked and presented and the waiters were friendly. Because the restaurant was busy there was a lot of noise and we did not much like the background music when it was audible!

We had a lovely night at cote , only downside was that there was a mistake with one of our starters and the toilets are pretty disgusting!! Not in keeping with the quality of the restaurant

Our waiter was excellent , we moved as the air condition was on ( not sure why as it was freezing day, that needs to be checked out) very attentive as the wine was slightly corked but changed straight away still cold but , please check the air con !!

Had the French cooked breakfast - everything was lovely but just a little too salty, especially the bacon.. mimosa went with it very well though. Came here for brunch before seeing film at odyssey cinema at 1.00 pm

Good food served in a buzzing, lively atmosphere. Had the sea bass which was delicious. Menu tried and tested doesn't tend to change but has seasonal specials Service speedy and very friendly.

Good service- has to pre order as it was Christmas Eve which all worked and food brought out very speedily.

Attentive staff, good food, though the 'warm' Roquefort dressing on the starter was stone cold. Very good pork belly and braised cabbage; my friends had generous helpings of duck breast which looked perfectly pink as they should be. Very good Cote du Rhone red by the glass.

Had an amazing meal and service was fantasic. Lovely decoration and warm atmosphere. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends. Look forward to coming back.

Really nice restaurant. Buzzy and with a good atmosphere. Food was nicely cooked and reasonably priced. The staff were helpful and friendly especially as I need to re-charge my mobile whilst dining! They took my request all in their stride and even made sure I didn't forget my phone at the end of the evening.

Great food & service. So good to have two Cote restaurants in Harpenden & St Albans. Will be visiting again soon. Valerie & Peter Abbiss

We had a great experience. The food was lovely and just perfect for a girlie brunch.

Very good selection of food. I’m a coeliac and there was a very good Gluten Free menu that I could choose from. Food is reasonably priced and the atmosphere and decor in the restaurant was really nice. The only negative thing I could say is that due to it being very busy that night the service was slow. It wouldn’t put me off going back again though. Definitely a very nice restaurant to have Saturday night dinner in.

Lovely staff , good food at a reasonable price , great for a pre theatre meal and convienient for shops , lots of choice , love this chain of restaurant

We visit the St Albans Cote often. Always great food and great service. The set lunch is excellent value. Will be back soon for another meal.

Attractive venue, warm, friendly and knowledgeable service and very good food, well presented and good quality ingredients. A most enjoyable experience for the whole party.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal on the 31st of January and look forward to repeating the experience again in the future. It was our valentines day dinner as our daughter having been born on valentines day sort of takes centre stage on the 14th of February. Thank you for a lovely experience.

One question - Does the cooked breakfast from gluten free menu + juice + tea not fit the Cote Formule as per non-gluten free ?

Excellent friendly service. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much for our waiter. The food was delicious and a great atmosphere.

Long wait to be taken to our table. 5 people at the bar area talking and ignoring us. Long wait for order to be taken but food came within minutes but not very hot. Would not visit again especially for the price.

The service was very good and the food, but we were not given either of the recommended wines, we were given a bottle of La Lande vin de France.

Cote has a menu that suits everyone, always serves up quality food and is consistently good. The service is also better than other restaurant chains nearby.

Comfortable surroundings; cheerful staff with a smile and good food. Good to be able to use the offer of a free bottle of wine with a main course, which was appreciated by all the party. Will return!

The restaurant was really busy and we felt rather cramped at our table. We ordered bread as it was suggested that our starter might not arrive immediately (fair enough) but the bread and starter arrived at the same time which was a bit annoying!

A great place to catch up with friends for lunch. The quality of food was excellent. I was reassured that coeliacs were catered for with a separate gluten free menu.

We were greeted by wonderful staff, the choice of food was wonderful and the food was excellent. Cote St Albans is one of our favourite restaurants because the whole experience is so pleasurable. Thank you.
