Côte St Albans

Food wasn’t hot enough. Staff forgot to bring us some food that we had ordered and some sauces; when we reminded a waitress about it she said she finished her shift but will tell someone to help us out. We had two kids with us and at no point a staff member offered to provide an activity book (it was only brought to our table when we asked for it). Overall, not the best experience.

Superb breakfast well cooked and presented . Service attentive overall excellent .

Food was delicious but service was very hit and miss. We either had no service for ages or s constant stream of people. Would definitely return despite this little hiccup!

The fish stew was amazing - a real French taste to it which was a real treat given we have not been able to go back to the French sea side for so long...

Our table was right in the middle of the restaurant, it was very small. The restaurant was extremely loud, so the meal wasn’t very enjoyable

Lovely evening. Felt very safe although maybe you should take people’s temperature on arrival. Great to see that you have a gluten free menu. Staff were good too.

Excellent service & great food as usual. The restaurant had tables well distanced from each other. All round lovely evening, just what we needed!

Lunch for 4 - we all enjoyed our food very much. Attentive staff, but not irritating, no hustling you out like some venues in these strange times.

As per usual, we had a very enjoyable evening at Cote (this time at the St albans restaurant), with several dishes particularly memorable (incl the crepe grand marnier - which four out of the five of us had and which we all rated as excellent). However, there were a couple of missteps, which is unusual for Cote, principally related to the lack of figs in any of the specials (the promise of figs in several dishes was highlighted in their advertising that I received for Oct and so, as a fig lover, I was particularly disappointed). The Dubonnet aux Figues cocktail was actually devoid of them, with dried rose petals floating on top instead (we were not warned about this before they were brought to the table and we had to use our forks to sweep it to one side). The cocktail was overly sweet and seemingly lacking much alcohol at all (it should have included gin as well). The pork tenderloin, which should also have had figs, did not and mashed potato was substituted - tho the dish worked very well and was most enjoyable. These relatively minor quibbles, however, did not detract overly from what was still a very good meal for the five of us.

Lovely birthday meal with family, usual Cote ambience not unduly affected by Covid measures - but they were in place and felt safe and secure. Food excellent as always and service very efficient and unobtrusive.

The staff were very professional and I felt safe. The food was of top quality. I shared a steak with my partner that was perfectly cooked. My only suggestion would be to have maybe more cocktail options and soft drinks on tap.

The service was very bad. We had to wait ages for someone to come serve us. And then when we had our food, we couldn’t find our waitress at all. When we finally got her to bring over the card machine (by getting up to find someone to help us!), she was rude. I wouldn’t want such staff working for my establishment whatsoever.

Yet another superb dining experience. The staff were efficient, attentive, polite and very pleasant. The food was up to its usual excellent standard. Well presented, delicious and good sized portions. Overall, a very relaxed and pleasant dining experience.

Incredibly slow service and took 50 minutes for our meals to arrive. Service was added on when we asked to have it removed.

Very pleasant experience. Food as always was good. If I had anything to criticise it would that the restaurant was quite cold and draughty.

Lovely meal, good atmosphere and welcoming staff working in a difficult environment. Very good value for money.

We enjoy Cote because the food maintains a high standard, service is first class and the price represents good value.

The service was fast efficient and soulless, there was no atmosphere and felt more like a quick bight in a fast food place. Wont go back for a while.
