Service was attentive and very good. Could have done with the background music being a bit quieter especially as the restaurant wasn't busy Nice atmosphere otherwise. Just wish waiting staff could be trained not to ask what you want to drink immediately you sit down and barely taken coats off.
Great service, delicious breakfast. We really enjoyed our meal out.
Lovely afternoon. I requested a quiet corner and it was perfect. Felt very covid safe and staff were very attentive. Food was great too :-)
Had an enjoyable time with lovely food. Service was a little slow.
We are always well looked after ...It is a pity you charge for extra frites ...we ordered one more portion to go with our steaks that cost £45.00 !!! Seems very stingy to charge again
Cote St Albans is one of our favourite places to eat outside London. Have enjoyed nice meals for two and family groups of 12 (before Covid-19). Looking forward doing so again when things allow. Great food, good service, nice staff, well done all.
It was really lovely to be able to join a small group of friends and enjoy a good meal. The service and food were both great but we were on a table for 6x outside in line with government guidelines. However the overhead heating seemed only half working and we were far too cold. Next time we will sit on tables for two inside as I wouldn’t repeat this experience again until the Spring.
Great food, nice atmosphere and excellent service, as always. Thank you
Lovely courtyard setting and the staff made it special for my daughter's birthday celebration.
Great food , safe outdoor dining , nice bkankets but could have done with the over gead heaters on. Staff excellent!
Had a great brunch with lovely coffee, the best scrambled eggs in town! I'm so pleased the recent lockdowns have not affected the warm and welcoming atmosphere and service.
It was lovely to return to Cote this December. The staff are welcoming and efficient, as always and the food was delicious. So pleased to see you guys again 💕
Great food, great wine, great value and a great setting. It’s great to be back at Cote after lockdown!
Very welcoming, friendly & helpful waiters, food delicious as always- so hard to decide what to choose as always so wonderful - thank you!
My wife didnt enjoy her french onion soup but rest of meal okay especially the creme caramel.
Really great long late lunch after a tedious lock down - excellent service from albeit multiple staff which didn’t matter as each and everyone were polite, courteous and very professional. Food was great and thanks to the chefs for waiting 45 minutes between starters and mains - steak was cooked to perfection and the pork loins tender with a crispy divine glacé! Table 25 is our favourite and we are looking forward to returning VERY soon x Gra and Gez
Great good. Friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. One of my favourite places in St Albans. Thank you
We haven't been out for the last month and it was good to see that Cote respected the situation with staff facemasks and tables well apart. As expected your onion soup didn't disapoint and the steak frites was excellent followed by cheese board (hate to say it but the smelly stuff was lovely). Best of all the house red was so fruity and drinkable we just had to have another red top up!! Thanks guys it was a lovely afternoon.
First off, a good, varied menu, though I would have expected some game at this time of year. Everything was well cooked and the service was professional, efficient and friendly. After all that, it was very good value for money and we would certainly recommend Cote to others. Unfortunately, it missed some buzz but that is clearly the fault of Covid
we are regulars and Cote St Albans always delivers on service and food
Very friendly and efficient service from the staff We enjoyed the newly reintroduced Prestige Menu which was excellent value for three courses

It was very busy on the last night before lockdown2 but we were very well looked after. Food was excellent.
excellent food & service. no heating on so a bit cold in the restaurant
Food was amazing , First class service, Children friendly Great meal before lockdown . Thank you to all the staff , see you all after lockdown stay safe .
Prompt and friendly service, and they didn't mind that we ordered just starters and sides. Plus, the food was delicious!
Thank you for having us, tasty food. Only reason I rated 4 is because I believe the mood was a bit off and think staff not motivated because the service charge is not optional but added to the bill.
We didn’t book for Sunday brunch, but seated us right away. Very friendly staff and did not rush us after we had finished.
great service and food as always. Good value for money. Very friendly staff.
Very friendly and efficient service. Delicious food. Beautiful garden. Thanks
Not happy on arrival as the table I had booked was taken but the Manager rectified the situation
Service good but a little unattentive. Starters seemed microwaved and lacked flavour
Had to ask for bill a few times..when you have small kids staff should understand they can't wait around. Plenty of staff available at the time.
Called in on the off-chance there was a table out back in the garden. It was busy, but I guess people wanted to be inside where it was warmer. We were a group of four, 2+2 socially distanced. It didnt feel cold outside, as was well protected from wind, and it didnt detract from the experience. Great food, great friendly service. Great steak frites and Parmentier (as always at Cote).
Good to sit down after very good guided walk around the town.....Felt safe as spacious venue, nice décor, and didn't feel rushed to finish
Absolutely a great night. The food was excellent complimented with a fine wine.
I really like Cote and have visited several times. The food is fresh and presented nicely with love and care, very tasty and filling. Lots of staff to serve you. A little disappointed that my soup was only warm today and not piping hot, that said the issue was quickly put right by the staff. We had a full meal with starters, mains, desserts and coffee, total bill was around £120 for the 4 of us. I’ll be back again soon hopefully.
Fillet steak always consistently good here. Red is okay. And nice desserts selection.
Couple of main courses off the menu. Ravioli ok but mean portion size. Red wine by glass - limited choice. Service and atmosphere good
Fantastic meal. Great service and delicious food. Felt very relaxed given COVID measures in place; many restaurants do not deal with it well but Cote staff made us feel very welcome and no tension in the restaurant
Excellent service and food. Love the October specials and fig, goats cheese & endive salad. Only shame is the Steak Tartare seems to no longer be on the menu, which was quite a favourite! Hoping it’s just temporary!
Lovely food! Staff were lovely. In all good to be back and eating out!
Just one of many lunches at Cote St Albans and it was first class as usual
The food was good, staff very friendly. Great atmosphere enjoyed throughly. Found the price a bit inflated. Please could do with a decor.
Great food and excellent staff. Will enjoy dining again I’m sure! Keep it up 👍
Great service & tasty food! Amazing value for money 😊
We visited the restaurant for a birthday celebration for my wife & her sister. We were all very happy with the food and the service. However it was cold in the restaurant and my brother in law kept his coat on throughout the evening. None of us were comfortable. Also, we wanted to order the aperitif from the October specials but were told it was not possible. Not sure why it was on the menu!
It didn’t feel COVID safe, as waiters were hovering over us and seemed to be carelessly touching everything. They seated another group of people far too close to us. We were also given two bottles of warm tap water (!)
Long wait between courses. Left stood out in the pouring rain for too long on arrival
Absolutely love coming here for brunch. Haven’t done it since lockdown and was eager to return. All safety measures in place but none of the charm lost.
Awful, the food was cold staff rude... would not recommend
