Excellent meal and ambience at Cardiff City Cote Brasserie.. Very good coice of menu with 2 or couse set menus available. Attentive waiting staff and manager. Would highly recommend.

I ordered asparagus soup which turned out to be green potato soup with the slightest hint of asparagus. Who makes asparagus soup with potato and if you do then it needs to be called such on the menu. Very disappointed. I asked for my sea bream to be slightly undercooked as it is nearly always overlooked in restaurants and it arrived flesh side down on a boiling hot plate! It didn’t need to be cooked at all if served this way. It was advertised as on courgette purée - it was pea which I don’t like, and a broad bean ragout or some such which again was peas! Is this misrepresentation of the menu allowed? What has happened to this chain which once was so good and reliable? Going the way of Jamies - beware.

Enjoyed lunch friendly service atmosphere good food as always tasty and presented well. Cardiff Central Cotes has never let me down. Lunch or evening always enjoy

Yes we had a lovely lunch thank you, staff were excellent as usual, always get a warm welcome, food very good and very appreciative of the complimentary martini, which was very nice. It was very busy and noisy due to a big table of customers near us, and the staff were very kind and moved us to another table , which was much better.

Quality of the food and service was excellent. However, as a booking for two persons were sat by a large party of 12, we asked to be moved as the noise was unbearable. We couldn't hear ourselves speak.

Waiting staff were excellent but Valentines constantly blamed for sell out of numerous dishes (3 times reordered food as each time came back to say no longer available) and verging on the ridiculous as this was also the excuse used for shortage of side plates for our starters?!!!! Actually felt sorry for waiting staff having to deal with such an embarrassing situation!!!!!

Another really nice post performance supper at Cote. Bit short of time so went straight for main course from Specials menu - whole roast poussin on bed of peppers with fries washed down with a nice bottle of Macon Villages. So yummy we both used our fingers to get every bit of meat. Our go to restaurant in Cardiff.

Whenever we are in the capital we eat here. It was very busy in Cardiff and in the restaurant and we had a table upstairs. We were served promptly and the quality was excellent. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Unfortunately our visit on Wednesday 27th February coincided with a very busy lunch sitting for both staff and customers. It took a while for our order to be taken and then, most frustratingly we just sat and waited- and waited! After prompting our starters eventually arrived. Service then improved and the main courses materialised with a bit better timing. Sensing our disappointment the waiter offered a 50% reduction on the food element of the bill. A decent gesture which was accepted. Nevertheless the lunch will not linger long in the memory. Reasonable food and wine but I doubt that we will be tempted to return any time soon.

Really enjoyed the good food, service and pleasant surrounding. Waiter, when we paid the bill, even explained the 12.5% tip. First time ever this has happened and we are regular Cote visitors in Cardiff and London.

very nice meal, nice atmosphere, not keen on the 12.5% service charge being applied automatically to the bill does remove a little discretion from the customer, although we were asked if we were happy before payment was made. small thing but moves the balance from customer to business

Food was absolutely stunning!!!! Best steak I had in ages & the calamari was gorgeous! Enjoyed it all! It was perfect! Thank you! I will definitely come again!

Nice atmosphere and location. Staff were friendly and the food on the whole was good. The chicken in one meal was a bit dry and a coffee ordered at the end of our meal was missed, this was immediately refunded off the bill. But overall pretty satisfied.

Amazing service and amazing food will definitely be returning to eat there again. The food came out straight away and the service could not have been any better.

Consistently great food and service. Highly recommended. Had 2 friends passing through Cardiff on their way back to the Caribbean so decided to take them to Cote. They were blown away with the menu and quality of food we all ate. Clean plates all round. Finger-licking good as always.

Amazing food and great service. I especially appreciated the vegetarian menu with so many vegetarian options and being asked about my allergies. I've also not found breton cider anywhere else, which was also a reason for coming. Staff were so friendly and helpful and food was such good quality we'll be back

We go to Cote in Cardiff Centre & the Bay because the food is always excellent at a good price with service that is always so focused on your requirements. Nothing too much trouble. Staff work as a team and seem to enjoy their work. Today was no exception in Cardiff Centre and the female manager on front of house was delightful, welcoming and funny. We then had a great experience at St Davids Hall this afternoon listening to Karl Jenkins's music. Perfect

Love this restaurant. Really quiet in there this evening so meant we were only there a short time as service was prompt. No complaints though as we stopped on our way home from a busy weekend in London. Food great as ever and staff all lovely.

Had a wonderful lunch, so tasty and the service and staff were excellent and appreciated the free cocktail which was very good, thank you all. The weather was exceptional for February and we wanted to sit outside which was no problem for the staff they were very accommodating, even though they were very busy.
