nice food and courteous service. my flat white coffee, tho tasting fine, was not hot - when I mentioned this to staff /manager ( ? ), it was immediately replaced at no cost - very good customer service, which was appreciated.

Cotes was quiet on Sunday afternoon. Just the thing for a leisurely late lunch after several hours 'shopping' in Cardiff. The food was great and the wife really appreciated the gluten free menu, including the Specials.

Went here as group of 4. The food and service was excellent, well worth a visit. We were not rushed by the waiters after each course, and the food arrived quickly

Service was very slow, but they were very busy. Wasn't a huge issue for us but plenty of other diners were airing their views. Food nice but portions average.

Service and atmosphere was wonderful. Shame the beer was rather expensive, when it was just a small bottle. Again though, the service was on point. Thanks again.

The meals we had was really nice prepared to a high standard ,served by well trained staff which was very helpful , in a very pleasant atmosphere.will eat there again when in Cardiff

The staff were exceptionally helpful and ensured that we had a table in a quieter part of the restaurant as we requested, The food was good, as usual. The noise level was very high but a change of table made a difference An enjoyable evening

Very busy but the long delay between courses meant that 3of our party had to miss dessert - which was a shame as the puds were delicious.

Would definitely recommend Cote in the Hayes, Cardiff. The food is excellent, the service is of a very high standard, and the staff very friendly.

Excellent meal promptlyserved, considering the full restaurant. beautiful belly pork and intriguing vegetables. The steak frites were excellent - getting a minute steak nicely medium rare is difficult. Friendly and efficient service. We were well pleased

Excellent meal well timed and priced - staff very good. Restaurant was very busy but our waitress cleared our table quickly after each course and kept us topped up with water.

Nice meal we just found that the tables were a little too squashed together , no privacy . Otherwise very good , best Creme caramel I have had in ages !

Really great service. My partner and I were really impressed especially as they were so busy. Also we were a bit of a pain because I had a voucher code for some free wine but messed up by not giving it when initially making the booking but the manager sorted it for us and we still got our wine!

I objected and observed that the ground floor was half empty and that we had made a booking early that day.The member of staff was visibly irritated and begrudgingly showed us to a table on the ground floor. He wasn't happy to be challenged and showed his disapproval. There is no atmosphere in an empty 'extra space', these areas only being ok for walk-ins when the restaurant is busy. It was a reminder of our family party for my husband's birthday in September 2015 that I had booked well in advance . We were led upstairs that night and seated at a table laid for 14 , we were a group of 8, in an otherwise empty area. So disappointing.

Excellent food and attentive (but not intrusive) service as always. The atmosphere is always pleasant, the menu is a mixture of the straightforward and the interesting, and the staff are unfailingly helpful.

Excellent service. Fabulous food and very reasonably priced. Far superior in comparison to other restaurants in the area. Will definitely return soon to this or other Cote establishments.

Excellent service, fast and polite. Made to feel very welcome and the food itself was delicious. The portion sizes were very good, although this may be due to them being on the pre-theatre menu. Would definitely return.

A party of 7 dined, two courses each and every meal was superb. Have to say the fish stew was the best dish, really delicious. Cote is always excellent and good value for money

Had dinner at Cote Cardiff Central, service and food were excellent. Both had steaks which were cooked to perfection, with staff being attentive and efficient throughout.

great food with excellent service at a busy time. Waiter was great fun and helpful with choices. Bill including wine for 3 people for 3 courses was only £117. Will be going again

We have visited this restaurant over 20 times since it opened and every meal has been a great experience. Staff and food have been exceptional. A good atmosphere, good location and always a pleasure to visit.

What can I say about our first ever visit to Cote? Just that we enjoyed every minute of our time spent there. First of all, the staff were very accommodating as we arrived an hour earlier than expected but they were happy to let us dine early. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I could not fault any of the staff we encountered...nothing was too much trouble and all food and drink served was with a smile, a chat and a little bit of polite banter. We will definitely visit Cote again.

Excellent as always . Always consistent in food and friendly service . The service must be the same in all Cote Restaurants as I have recommended Cote to many people who don't live here and i know like good food , and l have had many texts and emails thanking me for the good recommendation

Great menu always something new and exciting. A group of old friends and I meet every month and have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and efficient.

Went for a meal with family after graduation. The food was excellent, we all had the set menu which was a decent price and the service was pretty good.

Great service with no pressure and lovely food and wine. We had starters, mains and puds, coffee and liqueurs. Will definitely be back! Super Duper!

Good service and fabulous food. Little choice on the lunch time special menu.A little expensive with the service charge added on. However this was optional.

An excellent lunch for four. Good choices on the two course menu and the service as usual was excellent. we all love the house rose wine.

We had lunch today at the Cote. I enjoyed a golden beetroot & goat cheese starter followed by chargrilled chicken breast on roasted vegetables. My friend ate mackerel rillettes on sourdough bread followed by Toulouse sausages served on puy lentlls. Both were delicious .the house wine was good as was the service and atmosphere. My only moan was that there was no carbohydrate with the lunch and I had to order fries on the side. I am a regular visitor to the Cote and am rarely disappointed . I will visit again soon.

Excellent food and service, as always.The only negative aspect (and this was outside the control of the Cote) was that of an extremely annoying and disruptive child on a nearby table. Jumping up and down on the seats where people would be sitting; sticking cutlery from other tables in its mouth; and crawling on the floor with a small toy car. The parents just ignored this awful behaviour. What about a some child-free areas or child-free nights (or better still child-free restaurants)?

Good service and friendly helpful staff. Food the problem.I had the rib eye steak and my wife the steak frites and both steaks where chewy and lacked flavour. We are very regular customers at your Cheltenham restaurant and these two dishes are always excellent there and have been long standing favourites for us. In truth we were both disappointed with the meal which is the first time for a long time as regular customers. I am sorry to have to complain but i hope it will help you to improve your usually high standard of food for future customers. Ian Clelland

We had a wonderful breakfast, would recommend it to everyone, the lunch menu looks amazing as well, really good value for money, we shall be going there again very soon.

The staff are welcoming and efficient. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the food is delicious. I can't wait to return for another meal.

Busy and popular restaurant, service very swift and efficient, friendly staff, wine waiter most helpful. Excellent and varied lunchtime choices. Highly recommended. Not our first visit, and without a shadow of a doubt, not our last.

Good early evening meal. Waiter very attentive and alert to requests. Excellent food for the price. Although I have to say that the Toulouse sausages weren't! They were more akin to smoked frankfurters. I have to say I've just got back from ..... Toulouse. Puy lentils were good though!

Visited this restaurant with friends who we hadn't seen for some time, for Saturday lunch, few drinks and a catch up. Amazing food. Staff very attentive. Lovely surroundings. Would highly recommend.

Great evening with good service and excellent food. Enjoyed the tenth anniversary menu complete with a very welcome free glass of champagne Breton Fish Stew was particulary good

Great staff they look after you from the time you step into the door, and food is great. On our next trip to cardiff we shall be eating here again.

Best restaurant in Cardiff, super food and wine, superb staff, love the place. Only place I frequent that actually serves French wines in a French orientated restaurant.

Lovely restaurant with excellent staff. Food was amazing and staff were so welcoming and reported to our every need. Signing up to the Cotê rewards scheme which gave us s free bottle of wine worth £25 on our visit. Highly recommend.

We love the food and the lunch menu is welcoming and worth trying. Atmosphere is quiet and nice for chit chats and gathering. Will come back again.
