Côte Cardiff Central

The service was good. But unfortunately the experience was let down by the food. The starters of smoked salmon and crab were fine (can't go far wrong with these). We waited a long time for the mains and when they came the pork belly was overcooked and dry and the halibut was the same. I think they had been served up and forgotten and were then blasted in the oven to serve. Doubt that we will go again.

Excellent service at cote Cardiff, we had pre theatre meal, Food First class as usual. We have never had a bad meal, would definitely recommend this resturant

Great service as always , food was excellent and great value for money. It was busy with Xmas party groups but did not have a long wait.

My wife and I came here for dinner after a long day of Christmas shopping. The Food and Staff were both fantastic we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

The service was wonderful as usual even though the restaurant was very busy. We sat upstairs where it was much quieter but still with a good atmosphere. The waiters were very attentive which we have come to expect the food was great altogether a very enjoyable lunch.

The food was alright. The service was ok. Fairly good atmosphere. Just what you'd expect, nothing more, nothing less. The restaurant itself is very nice.

A lovely place to eat in the centre of Cardiff with very helpful and friendly staff. asking for a minimum number of words is inappropriate.

Excellent service from the waiting staff. I had a slight issue with my main course which I mentioned to our waiter and he delt with it in a very professional way. We were so pleased with the level of service that we have book again.

Even though rather noisy on the evening we were there, the service and food were excellent for the price. The restaurant is situated very centrally for the main city hotels.

Lovely food and service. just a trivial thing had asked on a couple of occasions to say Happy Birthday to my Son who was 21, but nothing.

Check your bill - they added £12.68 on a bill which came to a few pence over £100 then when we placed cash on the plate with the bill the waiter asked if we wanted the change! We had already decided not to leave a tip as we believed £12.68 was more than we would have left and we thought it was very rude of the waiter to ask. the food was very good but the toilet left a lot to be desired.

Excellent food and service Food was very well presented and staff were very friendly. Would definitely dine here again. Menu has a variety of food and wine list is good also.

The staff were friendly and efficient and the meals I chose were delicious and came out hot. There was a good choice on the menu.

Lovely atmosphere great food although salmon fish cakes could do with a side. Good service expensive drinks £7 for a large Bacardi !! But overall lovely night!!

Restaurant was very cold, and too dark. Staff were brilliant, very attentive and when one meal didn't arrive they handled it as best they could - we could not fault their customer service. The food was lovely but we were so cold we had to leave quickly after dessert. Food and service were usual Cote standard. Nice restaurant, but would be nicer if it was warmer.

LOvely meal. We’re made to feel very welcomed and always such a great atmosphere. My only criticism would be that the service was a bit speedy in that there was no pause between starters, mains and desserts. And the belly pork was slightly over cooked on the outside. Would definitely return and these things were maybe just personal preference.

Lovely food and fantastic staff. Attentive and could not do enough for us, great seat in the window and fabulous end after the rugby even though SA lost !

One of the best resterants i have been to in a while. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, service was fast and the food was out of this world. Would highly recommend.

Nice food. Nice staff.central situation to shopping . Fish was a little dry but well flavoured. Dessert of egg custard was absolutley delicious . Will be happy to return.

Really enjoyed visit here fast service as we were going to see a show. We had great service and place has a lovely atmosphere. Food was very tasty with large portion sizes.

The restaurant was packed and we were glad we had booked (plenty were turned away who had not booked) BUT we were served in a relaxed way getting as much care and attention as if were the only ones eating (the waiter even spotted when we drained the last drop from the water flask). Portions were as good as ever and the meals were delicious - no half measures becasue they were busy. As excellent as ever! We love Cote and will be back.

Efficient friendly staff serving a comprehensive menu which was superbly prepared . We have now visited three different restaurants ranging from Amersham ,York, and now Cardiff,each of which has delivered meals to an extremely high standard

Food very good, service good excellent waiter serving us. Only thing it was quite noisy for me as I am very deaf in one ear so difficult to hear conversation. Will go again.

Outstanding front start to finish. All the stafff were awesome. We were the 5 guys by the loo on the steps night. Faultless Michelin level service throughout. We got to Michelin a lot and this was as good of not better. The manager in flowery shirt was fantastic too. Glad he’s been pronoted

We ate three courses. Steak was cooked to perfection! Portions were appropriate and the food delicious. Excellent service and great atmosphere. We will definitely return!

Our meal and service was very good but it was extremely noisy in the restaurant (match day, so not unexpected) but for us that does make it less enjoyable.

Friendly cooperative staff; coped brilliantly with a time slot change and reduced numbers on a busy match day-we weren't rushed to leave either.Food is good-delicious roast cod on a white wine sauce on this occasion; this is a very good value city centre option and we have rarely been disappointed with any visit to the several Cote Brasseries we have visited over the past 5/6 years.

Delicious food, and a very warm welcome. The friend I was meeting for lunch was delayed by over 2 hours, but the manager was very understanding, and I was very well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble, and we had a splendid time when my friend finally arrived. We're both going again to Cote Cardiff Central.

Good food at great value. Drinks were overpriced, hence lower review score. We went for early set menu, but spent same amount as if we had been out for a normal priced meal once drinks factored in.

Great service, good quality food and good size portions. Good value 2 or 3 course house menu, but 12.5% service automatically added which we find annoying. We would definitely go again.

the food was fantastic all three course, the service was excellent couldn’t of asked for much more and the surrounds were lovely, great table position and overall an excellent experience.

Absolutely delicious food - we all had something different and everyone’s was lovely - and pleasant enough staff on the whole but the service was quite slow & you wouldn’t call the waiters attentive! We would have liked a dessert but we simply ran out of time so that was a bit disappointing. Will still return - great place.

As always with Côte, every course was excellent. Friendly staff and just a lovely atmosphere. No wonder I go back here time after time after time.

Booked a table for myself and 3 friends for a meal before the Wales v New Zealand rugby game. Table was ready on time. Service was very efficient and the food was good.

Crémant very nice as was the boudain noir and the côté de bœuf. Don’t like 12.5% added to bill for a table of 2. Tips should be discretionary and I usually give 10%

Phenomenal as always. Great location, excellent service and the food is outstanding... the French onion soup is the best we’ve had anywhere !Will be back !
