Excellent service and food. Too much seasoning on frites

We had a lovely meal at Cote. We were pre show so needed fast service which was delivered. And we had fab cocktails as part of the April offer.

Lovely meal and pleasant friendly staff. I come here regularly and it always meets expectations. Set meal is good value. Convenient for Senedd and Millenium Centre

All excellent except a delay to our main course in the kitchen meant we had to miss our dessert in order to get to the theatre on time.

The steaks we both had were so unevenly cooked, both asked for medium and was raw in some parts and over done in others, also both so fatty only able to eat half of it

Really enjoyable meal for mother’s day with my wife and 22yo daughter. We booked for 7pm and everything was ready for us despite the restaurant being obviously very busy. Two of us chose from the very good mother’s day set menu which had a good range. Overall we had a lovey meal and enjoyed the time, there was no rush and the food was excellent. I had calamari and fillet steak. My wife had the Roquefort salad and pork belly and our daughter had the tomato soup and sea bass Our only comment on a negative nature would be the adding of the “optional” 12.5% service charge onto the bill. We asked for that to be removed as it came to over £17 on a circa £135 bill. We left something more akin to 10% Many thanks

Visited Cote in Cardiff Bay for a pre show dinner. We arrived at 6 and didn’t receive our main meals until 7.20. This did not leave us enough time to make the show which started at 7.30. The long wait on food meant that we had to take food with us and eat it cold during the interval. Very poor and disappointing service!

This continues to be one of the best Cotes we have visited. Good food cooked well and excellent service. Enjoy it while you can before B____t finishes it off.

Had a meal last night with my daughter before we crossed the "piazza"for an evening at WNO.As always a great start to our evening.I think what distinguishes Cote from other restaurants is the staff;invariably pleasant and helpful and they contribute to the "buzz" which develops when the brasserie fills up.The food too is excellent brasserie style with a good choice and regular monthly specials. It was a great start to our evening and if you are in the Bay I would recommend it for good food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Excellent service. Really great food. Lovely atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and attentive. We've been to the Cardiff Bay restaurant a few times and it's my favourite restaurant in the city! Thanks to all at Cotes!!!!

Excellent food and service as usual, wine by the glass is a bit pricey but that is indicative of the location unfortunately! Will definitely return and recommend to others

I have eaten here a number of times and I am afraid this time it was disappointing. I do not often leave negative reviews but the service was very slow and there was so little attention paid to us patiently waiting in the corner for our order. No one bothered to explain the delay in the food arriving for example. It took a very long time for the food to arrive and after a long day at work we were very hungry! The food however was fine albeit perhaps a little uninspiring. One thing that does really annoy me with this restaurant. They insist on adding a service charge of 12.5% to every bill which you would then have to ask to be removed if you were not happy with the service. This is in my view not acceptable. If I want to leave a tip for good service then I will do that. To force someone to ask to have the charge removed is embarrassing and unnecessary. I did not ask for the charge to be removed but I am afraid the tip on this occasion would not have been 12.5%. It puts me off coming back so I would suggest you change the policy and give your clientele people the real freedom to leave a tip if they believe it is justified. Where there are large groups it is perhaps different - but there were only two of us!

We went here to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary, we had never been before but had an amazing experience. The food was exceptional and the staff were so attentive and pleasant. We will definitely be back.

My partner and I booked a table at 12:15 to enjoy a late breakfast. We arrived slightly early and were seated immediately. Left for a few minutes to decide on what we wanted to eat. When the waiter came to take our order, we were told with no pretence of apology, that as it was a rugby day breakfast had been stopped at midday. There was no mention of this on the website, nor was this posted at the restaurant. It wasn’t even mentioned by the host when we arrived. Disappointing experience this time but we have been on many occasions and never had anything other than a wonderful meal. A bit of a shame, but it probably won’t stop us coming back.

Food was excellent. It was very busy as it was Mother’s Day so service was a little slow - we had been seated for about 15 mins before we were offered a drink. Overall, we had a lovely meal.

Consistently high quality food so we eat at Cote regularly. Staff coped well on an exceptionally busy Friday night. A bit noisier than usual with pre-theatre diners.

Went to cote in Cardiff bay for my mums birthday and pre theatre drinks. Our waitress was amazing 10 out of 10 for service and for the food. I love cote you never disappoint (gutted I didn’t go for the French onion soup now but there is always next time) keep up the amazing food and fantastic service guys x

I had an absolutely amazing time at Cote Cardiff Bay. Myself and my mum came pre show for dinner and had the best fillet steak dinner. Many thanks for delivering such a high quality and tasty experience for us.

Food was great, staff were amazing. My only issue was the “truffle hollandaise”: it was awful. Not only did it not taste like truffle or hollandais, it was like a greasy garlic butter as that is all I could taste. I love your restaurant and would visit again, soon. But this ‘sauce’ was a travesty to both hollandais and truffles.

The food was delicious and the service was attentive (but not over-bearing) and courteous. We always enjoy our meals at Cote, this visit was no exception.

Sent an email already but no reply. Staff were lovely however meal very overpriced. Steak very fatty Fish pie very underwhelming .Given a small table where we had to move every 5 minutes to let other diners exit and enter. Would not recommend.

We arrived a few minutes later than our pre-booked time and then had only an hour for lunch before 3 minutes' walk to the Millennium Centre for the opera. There were 5 of us: we quickly ordered our Kir Royals (complimentary for my birthday!), a couple of starters to share and our main courses from the Weekend Specials. Although the restaurant was obviously extremely busy, full of pre-opera diners, the service was efficient. The main courses arrived with enough time for us to eat in a relaxed manner (the Chicken dish was particularly good) and we got to the opera on time!

Choose COTE after a previous visit a few years ago. Went for the Cardiff bay as opposed to central. Excellent service from the start, greeting was pleasant. Relaxed atmosphere, food was outstanding to taste and also to look at. Waiter and waitresses were extremely patient and engaging. Overall a great night for myself and my wife on a date night we will defo be returning. Well done and hats off too all.

Service was lovely. I am gluten free but it was no issue at all. Some restaurants make you feel like a burden but it was very easy and accommodating in Côte. Can’t wait to return

Booked as recommended by friend Food was good standard and good meal choices Service slow and poor however from all staff. No single member of staff was identified as dedicated to us. Constantly trying to attract attention but ignored. Not asked if we wanted dessert when we wanted this course and coffee. Waited a long time between first course and second. Very poor service long wait for all food and drink. When food arrived had to be sent back as cold. Didn’t check to make sure our food was satisfactory or ask if we required more drink.

Great food and wine served by congenial hosts. Totally up to standard and ever may it continue. Both main meals top notch.

I think you should stop charging the gratuity of 12.5% on wine automatically. Wine is an important part of the dinning/eating experience for my family and to be surcharged for this privilege is completely wrong. Yesterday our bill was over £110 which was split 50/50 wine and food. Being charged another £7 on top of what 1s relatively expensive wine is just wrong in my opinion.

Booking handled very well by the staff. Drinks, food and other small requests handled promptly and satisfactorily. It was my mum's 91 birthday and she had a wonderful time. We have eaten off the pre-theatre special menu and the full Al a carte menu, the food has always been lovely. Well recommended. Thank you.

Good, but not as good as usual. Staff were attentive but the there didn’t appear to be enough given the number of customers. It wouldn’t put me off visiting again - the food was lovely.

Fantastic food and great service. Our waitress was heavily pregnant and was awesome. She made our visit a really great experience. It was my fiancée’s birthday and there was a card waiting on our table. Lovely touch. Thanks.

Lovely setting and nice food Kathryn was our waiters food arrived quickly and nicely presented though I don’t enjoy salad in a steep bowl it was good and carefully prepared.
