Côte Cardiff Bay

We had a wonderful evening. I had mentioned when booking that we were celebrating my wife’s birthday and we were greeted with kir royales! We love Côte and have never been disappointed with the meal itself. Tonight the moules starter was excellent (still surprised though that this French restaurant does not automatically provide bread with the starter!), the mushrooms with the pastry topper was really tasty too. For mains the fish pie was brimming with fish (including lots of juicy prawns) and the Breton chicken was moist and tasty. All rounded off with the ice cream dessert (my wife’s served with a birthday candle 😀). Overall excellent as always. The staff work hard and are efficient and courteous especially on an evening when the restaurant was packed there being both a WNO opera and a BBC concert in the WMC. We’ll be back.

The menu choice was very good. Staff were lovely. Food was fine - not Michelin-starred, but certainly at the higher end of restaurant chain quality. There was one small point as regards improvement - timing. We booked a 6pm table so that we could make a 7.30pm theatre performance, but we weren't eating our main meal until just after 7pm. So it was rather rushed, and left no time for dessert. We appreciate that sometimes there are staff shortages, but just wanted to mention it as others would have booked with similar intentions, so timing is important. But thank you - overall very nice despite this.

Your Food and service were spot on .The reason for not awarding the 6 stars is that our table was not ready for us and was placed on a table close to the bar area and was quite hecktic with waiters rushing around this area ,But this will not stop us returning.i will be recommending you to friends 👍

We had a lovely meal at Cote. We were pre show so needed fast service which was delivered. And we had fab cocktails as part of the April offer.

Really enjoyable meal for mother’s day with my wife and 22yo daughter. We booked for 7pm and everything was ready for us despite the restaurant being obviously very busy. Two of us chose from the very good mother’s day set menu which had a good range. Overall we had a lovey meal and enjoyed the time, there was no rush and the food was excellent. I had calamari and fillet steak. My wife had the Roquefort salad and pork belly and our daughter had the tomato soup and sea bass Our only comment on a negative nature would be the adding of the “optional” 12.5% service charge onto the bill. We asked for that to be removed as it came to over £17 on a circa £135 bill. We left something more akin to 10% Many thanks

Good food, lots of choice, slow but good service, felt quite cramped in - too many tables, not enough room. Definitely recommend for location if heading to the millennium centre.

Attentive staff, definitely recommend booking if pre theatre, very easy to book online, good choice of menu and excellent value. Recommend the calamari. Consistently good in my opinion

Steak was dry, grey and not pink and cold as though it had been lying around for a bit. The noise level was low and I was able to speak to my wife without shouting

We were given a warm and friendly reception. We had the offer of a blood red Martini cocktail with a main meal from the a la carte - it was very nice! And the food was excellent - calamari to start, which were exceptional! fish pie and tuna salad. Tuna cooked just perfectly. The atmosphere was good, service good, but a particularly large group came in towards the end of our meal and it did get a bit too noisy, but only to be expected with very large groups. Would not let that put me off going again.

Great food and drink. The carb bisque was very good and the veal special was exceptional. Would highly recommend for the food, service and atmosphere.

Consistently good food and excellent service, as always, from our waiter, Antonio. Very goid choice for a pre theatre dinner, but best to reserve a table. We will return and frequently recommend the same to friends.

Cote is our favourite restaurant as always food was wonderful.

Excellent service nice friendly helpful staff nothing is to much trouble, without crowding you, food on off excellent and reasonably priced with plenty of choice, would recommend for pre theatre food

The service was very good. I had the beef Bourgogne But it was a bit dry as if it had been waiting for a while before serving. The other three guests had a good meal with no negative comments.

Beautiful food, great value and lovely atmosphere. The only thing I would say was the service could have been better. Plenty of staff on but had to ask to place main order and dessert as we were kept waiting a while whilst staff were just chatting amongst themselves. Also no side plates on tables for our bread. This aside I would visit again and hopefully staff will be a bit more prompt although they were very polite.

An excellent luncheon experience enjoyed by my partner and I. Cote's high standard was maintained. The menu is varied and suitable for all tastes. I look forward to visiting again soon.

I wish Cote would pay their staff a decent wage and stop adding the ‘discretionary ‘ service charge. I feel insulted by this. Also ‘free wine’ not available on all menus. I’m not impressed.

There was very little GF choice and zero flexibility when trying to order as your pre prepped which I found extremely disappointing
