A variety of delicious dishes and excellent service, all within in a lovely setting at Cardiff Bay. It's not often you get a traditional restaurant experience anymore that really makes you feel as though it's a special occasion but this delivers exactly that, and at a very reasonable cost too - would definitely recommend!
Authentic French Cuisine, food was lovely and so were the staff, as they were very attentive and explained things to us. I had the pork belly which was lovely and tender and the French onion soup was rich and flavoursome.
I went out for dinner with a friend who had not been there before. She loved the atmosphere and great food. Service was also good.
Lovely evening, good very good. Will return. Staff were pleasant, very quick service for a Saturday evening. Would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Very pleasing experience, good service and a friendly welcome. As always the food was very well presented and delicious. I would recommend and we will visit again soon.
Great calamari starter Beef bourginion very trad, attentive but not stifling staff. A good representation of bistro style French cooking, nice buzz within the eating environment.
Excellent service and food - in fact we returned two nights later and had another great meal. In between we had a very poor meal at Carluccios !!
From the moment you arrive to the time you leave you are made to feel welcomed. We have dined here more than a dozen times and have always been amazed with the quality and presentation o f the food served and the service and friendly attention received. Can't wait to call again.
We had a lovely meal, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. We will definitely return to a Cote Brasserie in the future
Lovely mothers day breakfast - great service and beautiful breakfast. It was quite busy as you'd expect and we had to wait quite a long time for coffee (only one coffee machine apparently) but despite this, staff were lovely and attentive and we had a very enjoyable morning. I would prefer if the service charge was not added automatically to the bill however.
An excellent with first class service and very good food. Excellent value with a very good selection of choices on the menu. Well worth a visit
French styled chain brasserie situated in a lovely part of Cardiff Bay near the Oval Basin. We've eaten here many times and the food is always good and staff friendly.
This is the second occasion I have eaten at this restaurant and I have enjoyed it on both occasions. Great ambience and location. Good service and food.
Had a lovely meal there on a Sunday evening with my mum and sister. All staff were brilliant. Great service and lovely food. Will definitely go back.
Service seemed slow and it felt not up to its usual high standard. The food was still good though. Maybe a touch of complacency, not sure.
We visited Cotes brassiere for my wife's birthday. The food and the staff were excellent, we had a brilliant evening and we will be back
everything was excellent - service, quality of food, wine, price and location - we dined as a family on Sunday at Cardiff Bay and had a great time and excellent meal - lovely
The service was excellent, the food good as always. They did not have a record of our booking but managed to find us a table in a busy lunch-time.
Good food prompt service and a buzzy atmosphere. Absolutely perfect for pre theatre dining. I particularly like that a bottle of water is all part of the service and portion sizes are just right
Friendly service. My food was very good, my husbands chicken however was a little dry not as succulent as usual. He probably should have sent it back. A pleasant lunch.
First class meal and service.tThe early evening meal(before 7pm) is exceptional value Nothing seems too much trouble. Excellent choice on 2/3 course menu. Conrad is an excellent manager who makes you really feel at home.
Great atmosphere; friendly and efficient service and good food. A lovely evening with friends where the service was attentive but unobtrusive. A nice buzz for a Thursday evening.
Good meal and efficient service - coped well with unusually large lunchtime crowd all eating at the same time before going to a ballet performance. It seemed that the surge might have been anticipated and extra staff brought in in anticipation. If so, well done. Good value, although extras (bread, chips, salad, etc.) overpriced.
I has a wonderful steak cooked just as I requested it. As we had joined their online scheme, it was complemented by a complementary of Cote du Rhône. On first opening, it was a little harsh, but, having a little time to breathe, it became the perfect partner to my peppered steak. The staff were pleasant and the service was attentive without being intrusive. I will return.
Waitress was lovely. I had the special for March which was a perfectly peppered steak. The fish soup was also excellent and we had a great time.
Lovely meal, one slight hiccup which was corrected efficiently and reflected on our bill without us expecting that. Very professional. Good atmosphere and delicious food. 😃
Going to the theatre so needed a quick service. Fast and efficient service with tasty food and good price. Would certainly book again in the future.
Food was exceptional but service was lacking. Starters and mains were brought out uneventfully but after that it went downhill... We waited at least 30 minutes for the plates to be cleared after our mains, we didn't get offered any more drinks or asked if the food was ok - I think we'd been completely forgotten about! By the time they bothered to come to our table it was far too late to even think about desert. To add insult to injury a 12.5% service charge was added onto the bill despite the very poor service we encountered. Not sure I would visit this restaurant again, which is a real shame as the food was wonderful, it was just the service that let the place down!
Great value before 6 on weekend. Good choice and good service. However reward system is difficult to navigate. Someone should get it sorted before it annoys customers and staff alike.
Food was so lovely and well presented. We were also quite surprised at how big the portions were. You definitely get great value for money. The fish is beautiful there, but at the same time my partner had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. Much better than a lot of the places down the bay! Service was also very good and our waiter was very attentive, we didn't have to wait around for a refill he noticed that we were low and came over straight away! :) Perfect date night place.
Warm and friendly welcome, as always. Delicious food. Excellent value for money. Why do I have to write a minimum of 25 words? I have nothing else to say.
As usual our experience at Cardiff Bay was excellent. The food was of its usual high standard and the staff welcoming, professional and friendly, what more could one ask for!
Four of us ate. Starters were nice : one pea soup, one mussels & I had whitebait which was in a lovely light batter . Main meal: one had the Minute steak which was very nice but x3 of us had the Shepherd's pie and we all felt it was really too salty, we were asked and offered alternative which we declined due to time constraints as this was pre- theatre dinner. Overall a nice place to eat and nice service, we were unlucky this time with the main meal. We asked advice on a dry wine and given taster which we really liked, it turned out to be Muscadet which we wouldn't have ordered normally & was reasonably priced. Menu good value two courses for £10:50. Table booked for 5:30pm & we were out by 6:50 pm just right for the 7:30pm performance in nearby Wales Millennium Centre.
Prix fixe menu is great value and the quality of the ingredients are excellent. The steak is tender and tasty, the frozen berries with white chocolate sauce is a must have. The staff and service are excellent.
Excellent prompt service and delicious food. The staff were all most pleasant and efficient and the menu interesting and reasonably priced. We would certainly come again!
we rang to say we would be late for our booking due to a traffic problem. When we arrived (Fed up and hungry with only half an hour before the start of a show) they checked on our booking and although the restaurant was heaving with people they managed to feed us all with steak frites and a welcome drink in time to get to get us to the show - well done - we'll be back
Very good food and service, dietary requirements catered for, wine quality excellent. Good atmosphere and fast and friendly service. Recommend the pork belly and Greek salad, also serve decaf tea which is a bonus
Good communication as to the reservation. Restaurant was full but service and food up to its usual high standard. We use this restaurant regularly when visiting theatre and will continue to do so.
Brilliant service throughout, dishes brought promptly since they were aware we were going to the theatre. Manager was pleasant and visible. The starters and mains were well presented and were superb. We were so impressed that we decided to return after the theatre for dessert which was equally lovely. It is the only restaurant I would go to in the bay from now on especially pre theatre.
The food and service were excellent. Good value menu and friendly, efficient staff and great location for pre-theatre meal. We usually use Cote in the Bay for a meal on days out to the theatre and before rugby internationals.
Simple tasty French food, starters always tasty particularly the crab mayonnaise. Good selection wines, nice Breton cider, courteous staff. Never cease to please. Great for a casual week day supper, or birthday celebration.
The food was excellent. Could not find anything wrong with the service from when we were greeted to when we left. A very well run restaurant!
Polite and friendly service, when we mentioned we were going to the Theatre they gave our orders priority, Excellent food, good house wine and prompt service, even though they were full.
Food was great staff friendly however we booked for a pre theatre meal which took an hour and a half for two courses which left us rushed to get to the theatre in time. We needed to ask for the wine and ask for the dessert to be served after quite a wait. Then we ordered coffe which took so long we had to cancel as we had to leave. All this would have been fine if we did not have a dead line to meet. Everything else was perfect and fantastic value for money. In fairness the staff did not stop and were doing their best to cope with a very full restaurant.
Very welcoming friendly staff. The meals were delicious and out to our table promptly. We had a lovely evening at cote and will be back again soon!
Excellent breakfast option including juice cooked breakfast and a hot drink for under £10-great service and value and I would recommend highly. Great location for working breakfast.
We had a very good experience- food and staff. We were left to chat for quite a while after eating without pressure. We were moved from a table too close to another on request. This was 2nd visit, definitely will go again. Thank you staff.
Really good steaks. And the service was spot on. Well done to Markus and the team. Also the Wine choices were really good too. Thanks.
A very pleasant evening , We were warmly greeted and shown to our table The food which was served very quickly was absolutely delicious and the staff attentive and very friendly. Certainly an experience to be repeated.
The brasserie decor is very inviting and service and food were excellent. The sea bream was excellently presented and very tasty. There is a friendly atmosphere and it was a great choice for a birthday lunch
