Lovely meal! Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good quality. Offered both a main menu and and express dinner menu so everyone was well catered for.

We went on a Friday night. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. Our coats weren't taken from us as we sat down, I was then asked to move my coat by a waitress as it was in the way of other diners. The food was over cooked and the steaks didn't seem fresh I suspect they had been frozen. The butter on my steak had been nooked in the microwave and was runny rather than left to melt on to steak. Poor service as the waiter didn't check up on our meal we weren't offer more drinks we had to get his attention and he served our plates and glasses over us. Very poor and disappointing experience. We go to the cote in Bristol often and have never had a bad experience and the food has always been top notch. We went for a special occasion so thus was truly disapointing.

Excellent apart from tendency to overcook the thin steaks grey instead of the advertised pink. Also service at table suffers at peak times - one hour waiting for a main course.

Food was good. Service was polite but a little slow and somewhat inattentive once our food arrived - e.g. no one offered to refill our wine or water glasses throughout

Another wonderful visit to this lovely restaurant. The food and service is always superb. Every time we visit Cardiff we book for dinner here. We also go here for a lovely, piping hot breakfast which sets us up for the day. We highly recommend

Food was excellent. Starter was late and main came while eating it. Waiter was nice but not with it. Restaurant was not busy so not sure why he forgot about our starter. It’s a minor point but we did feel overlooked.

We sat at the table we requested and everyone was very friendly and helpful especially as we had limited time before the opera. We enjoyed the meal very much.

We had booked for lunch at 1.30 on a Saturday, they were very busy but not enough staff and far too often all staff had their backs to customers. We took the lunchtime special and dessert which were obviously already to serve in the kitchen but the meal took 2 hours. Not good enough when there is a 12.5% service charge. The food was fine.

As usual, great welcome and service. My husband ordered the beetroot salad which looked dreadful ( well dull with bad lettuce) and was tasteless. The French onion soup was good. Lamb shanks were over salted. Crime brûlée good. Wine good.

Service efficient as usual. A little too much so to begin with as mains arrived before aperitif finished. Slowed down a little after that to a most enjoyable evening. Food as delicious as ever, and staff friendly and helpful. Overall very good value.

Once again top rating prevented by yet another group of cackling (hen party?) revellers. No restaurant can handle that 100% satisfactorily..... otherwise splendid. Food excellent.

I visited on the 17th February 2018 for my birthday and once again the service was incredible. I was made to feel very special because of my special day, along with my sister who had joined me. Conrad and his team were attentive, knowledgeable and very social with us, even though the venue was extremely busy with pre theatre dinner. The team and especially Conrad were very calm and professional even though the venue was busy. I left the venue to join a party put on for my special day, where I took great pleasure recommending Cote in Cardiff Bay and Conrads exceptional service to all my guests. Thank you

The pre-theatre meal is always good value and offers a varied selection which is often very different from usual menu. Last night was no exception with eggs benedict among the starters and artichoke risotto in the mains.

Lovely front of house staff and excellent food let down by the kitchen taking an hour for main courses to arrive . No time for pudding as we were going to the opera. My complaint was dealt with by the manager and he was very apologetic and took some money off the bill but a serious let down for what has been a very reliable chain.

We have used Le cote for many years and have given six stars every time dining in both Cardiff restaurants, Windsor and Cirencester, sadly my visit with my family tonight failed to please. It was a quiet Tuesday night, we ordered two duck breasts, one vegetarian meal, one cod goujons and all were enjoyed. My wife and I had fish parmentier which we have had many times, but tonight's effort was nothing like the previous times. I must point out our server Aleksander was most concerned seeing the fish bones and the amount both of us left, he would report it to the manager and chef. We ordered desserts, finished our wine then asked Aleksander for our check. He informed me the two parmentiers were not charged for and was listed on my bill as 2@Goodwill. So sad on a quiet evening that the manager couldn't make an appearance when we could have explained our grievance. This will not stop us coming back.

The staff gave outstanding and incredibly good humoured and patient service, despite the huge pressures of being packed out with pre-opera guests. The food was excellent and we had no feeling of being rushed. The experience gave a real sense of being a special occasion. Côte set us up brilliantly for a thrilling performance from the Welsh National Opera - thank you.

Tried the Camembert starter from the 2 course specials menu. It was rather dry and not a lot of flavour. For mains I had the excellent Jerusalem Artichoke Risotto, which was beautiful.

I am always very happy with the service when I visit both Cote restaurants in Cardiff....the only thing that bugs me a bit is the 12+%.....I know your staff now get this...but 12+% is a bit steep !!!! I also know not all punters tip and this gives some a nudge...but I would rather it be left to me. I also know I can have it removed...but I never do....it just annoys me a bit...but not enough to stop visiting.

Lovely staff! I did not like my starter but tdown to personal preference. The staff took my starter of the bill at the end as I did not eat which was very generous. My partners food was very nice and my main course which was the duck was the best duck I have ever had! The presentation and service was great!

Yet again Cote delivers, this time for a late lunch. Busy with hardly an empty table at 2.00 but service still good. We really like the reliable quality of the food and that the menu changes regularly...no formulaic nonsense here. Keep it up!
