Food reasonably priced but drinks expensive, service ok steak over cooked

As always the service is amazing from the welcome as you enter to when you leave it’s so rare to find a Resteraunt that actually cares about its customers Food was really nice and prices reasonable Used many times and will continue

A chance to sample the least expensive of the November menus and our party of 4 was not disappointed. For me the whitebait to start with -dry and tasty. Then the venison pie- a nice balance of flavours. To finish the dark chocolate pot (alway a winner). Service was, as ever, friendly and professional. 3 course for 4 plus a glass of wine for 3 and coffee for all to finish - £90- really good value for money

The staff were fantastic. I booked a table for 6.15 but got caught up in a huge traffic jam and arrived three quarters of an hour late with only an hour to spare before going to a show. They were very attentive and made sure that we had our meal in good time. An impressive level of service.

Great value - we had the early bird 3 course meal for £14.50. Staff were friendly and efficient ensuring we arrived at our concert on time!

Coped well and maintained standards on a busy Monday lunchtime due to Open University graduation ceremonies at Millennium Centre opposite. We were perhaps lucky to get a window corner table - where we could hear each other talk. We enjoyed the good quality food from the two well-balanced set menus - and will be happy to return.

Usually we have the best experience but today it felt a little bit flat! Waitress took our order there was just two of us and she forgot who ordered which drinks even though she had a conversation with my partner about the type of coffee he would like I was having a coke! She then brought our olives but no bread arrived until after we had received our mains she said the kitchen were cooking more but we had waited 25mins for bread She also forgot my side of fries I think she wasn’t really on it today Felt a little I don’t care attitude

Service was excellent, our waitress was very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and we will definitely return for another visit!

Very nice welcome and service. The food Was nice but we thought the potions we quite small and could have done with a bit more and a side of vegetables to compliment the meal. What we had was very tasty. It was extremely noisy in the restaurant had to hear each other and had to ask the server several times to repeat what they said.

Pre theatre dinner, so very busy and noisy but this did not detract from excellent service.

Amazing food as usual. Waitress was very funny and friendly.

We were on a tight timetable as we were going to a show at the Millennium Centre and one of our party was running later, but they rushed our order through, it was delicious and we all ate together. We even managed puddings, the creme caramel was lovely. Great, friendly, professional service too. Thank you, we'll be back!

Should have been easy to find but no lights on the sign and Wagamama’s lights were so bright and their premises extended over the top of Cote so camouflaging the restaurant which meant we followed the road signage to Mermaid Quay in the rain and approached it from completely the wrong end - what should have only taken 5 mins to get to took 15. Cardiff road/pedestrian signs are dire. Friendly welcome and our requests were met with understanding and helpfulness - was we were served speedily as they knew we had a film booked. Nothing specifically wrong with the food either (except the chocolate pot was grainy because the chocolate had been overheated) but it’s just not as good as it used to be in the beginning (as a chain) - the Frenchness has gone not surprising really as I don’t suppose many of the chefs are French these days. The “dauphinoise” has no hint of garlic and very little cream so we’re rather unexceptional.

Another great visit to Cotes after matinee at the WMC. Excellent menu choices and great service, very prompt even though very busy highly recommended

Disappointing. Ordered from early evening menu as we had theatre tickets. Initial service was great, we were promptly served but then waited ages for the bill and ages to pay it. The starter of haddock croquettes were yummy as were the chocolate pots. The main was not great. We had beouf en croute which essentially was a steak slice pasty! No potatoes or veg served with it, if I’d known before then I’d have ordered something else.

Always good, quick pleasant service at a very busy time.

Food was really nice but a bit surprised about the 12% service charge. I paid by card and wasnt given the option so cost another £9 odd on our bill. Service wasnt brilliant to justify this

Lovely welcoming on arrival and drinks was brought to the table for my fathers birthday which was an excellent touch! Our waitress was lovely and very helpful. Food was delicious, but my mothers steak was over cooked and cold, but it was soon rectified. Will definitely return again. Thank you!
