Excellent staff. Food presented well cooked well and service was efficient and unobtrusive. The restaurant was busy, but the staff worked very effectively to cope with all the demands and were most courteous and pleasant.
visited cardiff branch 1/8/17 with my wife and elderly mother for her 88th birthday. food and service excellent, but, and it's a big but!! If you are to be a French restaurant why do you not provide bread at the outset and not wait for the clients to request it? In France bread is supplied continuously at no extra cost. Small things mean a lot.
We were a party of 7 they forgot 1 meal but made up for it buy not changeing for that meal and gave a free desert . The food was good .
Its good French style food, reasonably priced. Very good staff here in Cardiff. Perfect location, close by water in the tabular Cardiff Bay. Worth a visit
This restaurant is always lovely and clean. The staff always look professional, are very friendly and welcoming. The food is of a high standard and the set lunch/early evening menu offers great value. The nice thing is that the set menu changes so you can always try something new. The steak frites is a constant which is just as well as it is a favourite for some of my friends.
Disappointed! Starters...Pate and bread ...no garnish _Asparagus...so small and cut in half to make look a larger portion and undercooked.Chargrilled chicken ...part black.Won 't return...:((
fabulous restaurant.... fab wine and a good selection of food. The people working there are very friendly and there is a good atmosphere. I would book in advance as it does get busy.
Went for lunch with friends. Lovely food . Great service. Had to wait a while between courses but we wern't in a hurry so no problem for us. Will definitely go back .
Great location. The food was very good wine was a tad pricey. Lovely ambiance and subtle background music. Over all a lovely evening with my wife.
amazing food and amazing service. The staff were really helpful and even without complaining they offered to chang a meal and offered other options when they noticed something wasnt right. When I say the food wasnt right, I mean the food was lovely and was edible and we were not even going to say anything. They checked and offered another perfect meal. We declined that as the food was still amazing so they decided not to charge us. Again amazing staff, food and management. One of my favourite resteraunts. As Del Boy would say Bonnet De Douche, Tres Bien.
Good service and excellent food from the 3 course set lunchtime menu. We were joined by friends who also felt they had a similar experience.
The food was ok nothing to complain about it's what I expected for a chain restaurant, service was adequate staff were polite and fairly attentive
Me and my husband love this restaurant down Cardiff Bay. Staff are warm, welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. Looking forward to visiting again soon! The Whitings
Service was efficient but not friendly. Seafood stew had plenty of seafood but also a little too much salt. Creme caramel was divine. Not a no but not a must go.
had an amazing evening, food fab, cool, lovely, tasted so nice, the staff our fab, always talk to you, they know what you like, can't fault them.
We have eaten at the Cardiff Bay Brasserie so many times and it never fails to come up to the highest standards. Very courteous staff, delicious food. We are booked in again in a few weeks time!Thank you
I think it a good idea to inform your guests that the complimentary drinks for example a birth a day celebration are only applicable if you order from the a la cartel menu. This was swiftly and efficiently sorted by the staff for which I am grateful.
All aspects of the eating experience were excellent. Table was available on arrival. Service was superb and tbe food was cooked to perfection. A lovely evening.
A good place for lunch or a pre show meal, being right opposite the Millennium centre. French waiters add to the French Cafe ambience. Usually no need to book , but best make sure!
As on previous visits great service, polite, attentive staff, lovely food. It was easy to book online and well-timed for our pre-theatre dinner. Couldn't have asked for more.
enjoyed our meal there, food was lovely especially the chicken Pate and the steak,. atmosphere as always was very pleasant, staff very helpful, fab evening
We made a request for the table when we booked which was fulfilled when we arrived. The food and service were both great, and there was no rush even after wed finished eating.
Consistently excellent in every respect each time we visit. Staff are well trained and this evidenced in the way in which they carry out their duties.
Food and service always good, table wasn't ready due to previous diners running over on time. Staff gave a complimentary kir royale for the inconvenience... excellent as always
Fantastic meal, excellent service, highly recommended. The set menu has a good variety and is extremely good value for money. Finished it all of with a very nice cup of coffee
Fantastic anniversary meal for my husband and I. We were seated in a prime spot and received a complimentary drink to mark the occasion. Service was exceptional and staff outstanding. My husbands steak was over cooked but was changed with no problem with a new meal produced which was superb, and the restaurant removed the charge for this from our bill which we did not expect at all. We will definitely return again. Thanks to all at Cote!
Excellent meal, lovely atmosphere, will definitely visit again. The restaurant was busy all evening but we did not feel 'rushed' at any point, thoroughly enjoyed, thank you.
Fabulous meal, amazing service, and beautiful restaurant! Second visit here in cotes CardiffBay & it didn't disappoint! Steak was amazing! And the desserts are fabulous!
Another lovely dining experience at Cote, Cardiff Bay. This is our 'go to' restaurant in the Bay. The food and service is always top quality.
Generally good. Staff are very obliging. It is a bit like an up market conveyor belt type eating house. Very handy for the Millennium Centre if it's raining!
Good food served promptly. Service was friendly and efficient in a clean and pleasant environment. Location was perfect as we were attending a concert in the WMC. No table d'hote at 5.00 pm on a Saturday though and prices of drinks have gone up.
Starters and desert were lovely. However over the five steaks ordered in our group, all five were over done. Not bad but not great overall. Won't be going again.
Love this place. Food is always amazing and service so attentive without being intrusive or snooty. The fixed price lunch menu is a real bargain too. Never fails to impress. Merci!
excellent food and service, good wine and quick service pre theatre visit, good buzz throughout visit, will be back again, could not fault anything for price paid
Food and service were excellent. Lacks the uniqueness of an independent restaurant but it felt French anyway. I even spoke French to the waiter without thinking.
Relaxed professional service. In a comfortable setting near to the Wales Millennium Centre. Excellent food nicely presented. Will be back again in the near future
This is fantastic location if you're exploring Cardiff Bay. We enjoyed excellent service, fabulous food and wonderful wine as always. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
Good food and wine. Pleasant dining experience with attentive staff. Ideal location for the theatre. Would highly recommend however booking in advance is required as tends to be very busy prior to major performances.
Food was excellent and service was prompt and friendly. They even found us a top so we could take leftover wine home!! All in all, an excellent lunch
Very good indeed only one error which was corrected - we were presented with a bill that charged us for our free Kir Royales. Quickly rectified once they had noticed the error - we didn't have to point it out to them.
Pleasant evening at Cote Cardiff Bay with friends. Food was good and we will go again. Two of us ordered Reblochon and olives - the Reblochon was sold out and the olives never arrived. The Fish Parmentier was especially good. Staff were friendly and attentive.
Excellent service. Tasty food affordable good value very well situated in the heart of Cardiff bay. Stunning views over the harbour lively atmosphere. Good bus and train access
Everything was excellent. We will certainly visit again although we are very August fait with Cote restaurants , we have visited London, Bath, Bristol and Cardiff city centre.
Service was much slower on this occasion and everything felt a bit rushed. The waiter was very attentive though and extremely helpful. Our main criticism would be the service charge applied to the bill with no option or question if we would like to reduced or remove it!
Good quality food from a la carte menu and superb service which has become an outstanding characteristic of the two Cardiff Cote restaurants. One disappointment was the quality of dishes on offer on the set menu...Not good enough I am sorry
Excellent food, service and quick appearance of food. Will be returning soon. The staff couldn't do enough to help and ensure a fantastic experience. Xx
Cote is, simply, reliable. Food is always prepared to a consistent and high standard. Staff are well trained, striking the right note between friendly and professional. Customers are only bothered and interrupted once when in the middle of their third mouthful of the main course by being asked "Is everything all right?" (a pet hate of mine - if we're munching contentedly OF COURSE everything is all right - otherwise we would be turning red in the face, frowning, turning over bits of the food on the plate and inspecting it with a look that says "unimpressed" and generally looking grumpy - and if everything is all right we do NOT want to be interrupted.... Grrr). But as this affliction is obvioulsy one of the ten commandments in the world's standard reference manual on "how to train a table server", Cote still gets a thumbs up, as at least their staff do it relatively unobtrusively. But for all of this, they still get one demerit point and I score 5 instead of 6. Tales are big enough to avoid feeling cramped and, finally, the bill is reasonable for good food cooked fresh (budget £40 a head including drinks for three courses). In the last year I have visited Cote at Covent Garden, Windsor, Bristol and Cardiff Bay and have enjoyed all four visits. Keep it up!
Excellent service. Great choice of well cooked Food. Why bother going elsewhere when you can have all this at an attractive location on Cardiff Bay.
Fab restaurant, great food and service will definitely visit again. We were a party of 5, had 4 different starters, 4 different mains and 3 different desserts and all were superb
Lovely 3 Course meal for 4 of us, a little different from the norm. Good service, good atmosphere, good time. The wine ( Corbiere ) was also very good if a little expensive at £22.95 a bottle. We will go back but perhaps drink ..... Beer.
