Food was excellent and the staff were lovely, we were just left unattended for long periods of time. It was quite a chore trying to get more drinks or even place a food order. We were quite amused by the girl carrying the trays of food - she clearly hates her job and doesn't know how to smile. That said, it wasn't an unpleasant experience and hasn't put us off returning in the future. It has a little work to do to catch up with the restaurant in Cardiff Centre though.
Very polite staff, excellent service. Very good location, lots of choice from the menu and good value for money. Would definitely recommend this chain to friends and family and would definitely return to the one in Cardiff Bay.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The service was prompt. Great food. The staff worked really well for Gluten Free option to ensure no contamination. Highly recommended.
Excellent food, very nice and lively ambiance and very friendly staff. Really enjoyed the food - fillet steak, good fries and my husband's cod from the summer special menu was great. We have been several times before and will certainly go again. It's a great place to go before seeing a show at the Millennium Centre.
The restaurant was almost full at 6pm when we had booked our dinner. Nevertheless the food and service were excellent. The time between courses was a little longer than normal because of the pressure of numbers.
Front of house staff very welcoming and knowledgeable. Excellent menu for gluten free requirements. Food was delicious and cooked as we'd requested. Will definitely visit again.
Booked for friends birthday and pre Theatre. Nicely my friend was offered a drink but no happy birthday. Food was good however service not so. There were a lot of staff but very disorganised . Tried to take our wine glasses when we had an ice bucket with wine at the side. Waited 40 minutes between starter and main and we had to ask them. They hadn't even given us any cutlery. Very disappinting as we really fancied a dessert and didn't have any time left. When we said this and asked for the bill there was no apology and waiter just said yeh we busy and it's the same for everyone. Needless to say we didn't pay the gratuity and would never go there for pre Theatre again very disappointing .
Fantastic, as always. Food was good, staff were friendly and helpful and we had a great time. Only slight complaint would be that there was a slight chilly draft due to an open door but it had been a very hot day (it was 9:00 in the evening that we ate though)
I rate my overall experince at 6. The service was very quick and food was brilliant. I Will definately be returning to the resturant in the future l.
Good food, pleasant efficient staff in a great setting. Ideal for a quick meal before a show at the Millennium Centre. The lunch & early evening menus are good value for money.
The service here was efficient, the staff were extremely polite and food was delicious. Overall, an excellent experience and we'll definitely be returning here soon!
We had a great meal and the service was fantastic. Great selection of food for the children as well, which they ate with gusto. thank you
the food and service were spot on but due to being opposite a theatre we had to wait quite a while inbetween courses as it was very very busy
Food excellent. Impossible to hear eating companion across the table due to noise level. Object to service charge, difficult to negotiate with someone who doesn't object.
the food and service were great but the whole experience was let down by the very poor standard of the toilets. One was out of order one was dirty and the other no toilet paper. As the block is next door to the kitchen you would imagine them to be pristine clean!!
As always, a very warm and friendly welcome. Food and service excellent. Very affordable too! It is our preferred place to eat when attending an event at the Millennium Centre.
Very helpful pleasant staff but extremely busy that evening so forgot to bring more water. Food delicious as always and the pre theatre menu very good value
Great set menu at very reasonable price. Very efficient, attentive staff. A very good choice for a pre theatre meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
It was Theatre night so very busy. Service was a little off as normally very good. Comp main course as mix up with order but overall not as good as on previous visits.
fantastic place. Staff were brilliant, made our visit most enjoyable and food was out of this world :) will most definitely return time and time again.
This was a pre-theatre meal for 6. Restaurant was busy but we had pre-booked and arrived on time. However the slow taking of order and receiving meant we were unable to have more than 1 course when we had intended at least 2.
The atmosphere is great, the food is amazing and the service is always excellent. Can't fault it at all. The steak is always cooked perfectly!!
Fantastic food. Great staff and general all round amazing place to eat. It's our go to restaurant for special occasions or just a bite when we can be bothered to cook.
Went as a group of four on a Friday evening. Food was delicious and there was a good choice. The staff were friendly and attentive and there was a great atmosphere.
Pleasant obliging staff. Service was prompt, food was tasty. However some mindless person who had sat at the table before us had found it acceptable to stick his used chewing on the underside of the table. Gross!
Lovely atmosphere, pleasant staff and excellent food. Only complaint would be the main course was served before we'd finished the starter so felt a bit rushed.
The restaurant is located in the beautiful surroundings of the Oval Basin and Millenium Centre. We have been here many times the staff are always pleasant. The food can vary, however. Our latest visit wasn't the best. We tried the steak au poivre specials which were overly hot and the meat a little tough. Starters were good, however and wine selection extensive.
Couldnt do enough for us..they even gave us a table outside..and allowed us to change our mind. The only thing we werent allowed was a birthday cake but we did get a candle with the dessert. There werent many Vegetarian options and no vegan. However they did their best to accommodate one of our parties preference in this respect.
Cote in Cardiff Bay provides excellent food, friendly and efficient service and has a lovely setting overlooking the Wales Millennium Centre and the sea. Overall a very positive eating experience.
Great food, great service. A relaxing atmosphere and wonderful selection of wines to go with all dishes. I recommend the desserts as well. Thank you.
Excellent food, great service with a smile. building up loyalty and we will return! Recommend the Creme Caramel for dessert - a great favourite with us, and never disappointed
Four of us enjoyed a good meal here. The service was a little slow but acceptable. The wine list is comprehensive but rather expensive which has the, possibly beneficial, effect of putting a brake on how much you drink!
Lovely food and surroundings. Unfortunately service was not good. Dishes were left not cleared and had to go to ask waitress for additional drinks and Bill.
Excellent service and lovely food! My wife is gluten free and the range was superb with almost everything available to gluten free diners. Perfect place for food before the theatre.
As always the food was delish, steak really tender & tasty, staff were friendly, and a good atmosphere - looking forward to visiting again soon.
Nice food though portions not that big on chips for kids meals etc. Very noisy large family placed next us. Service was a bit slow but very friendly and helpful
Great breakfast. All cooked perfectly. Service good as usual. Good value for what you get. Nice location over looking the WMC. Get a window table.
Very good food and lovely service. Happy and full ticks both boxes. A good choice if your down cardiff bay and want an amazing food experience
Efficient service, good choices on menu. Food of good quality. Need to have small dessert size knives for eating starter. Dinner knives and steak knives too big for starter.
Excellent and really delicious meal with very interesting flavours. Well looked after and good service. Very good choices on the gluten free menu and I was confident that I could trust it was really gluten free.
A lovely space, friendly service and quite a wide range of dishes on offer. A very pleasant lunch spot in the middle of the bay
Visited Cardiff Bay this evening, good food taken from the Early Bird menu with friendly staff. Will definitely visit again as very good value for money.
Nicely placed in the heart of the bay i found the fries a little overdone otherwise everything as we would expect from a cote.we will certainly try again.
Great restaurant and helpful staff. Food good and very atmospheric. Good choice on the menu and reasonably priced. Only one negative - a bit noisy.
Excellent service and plenty of choice even for someone like me on a gluten free diet. Prices very reasonable for the very convenient location close to WMC and Senedd.
Good meal with good service. As a coeliac who has to eat gluten free, the menu has a good choice and is well set out
This is always a lovely place to dine with very attentive staff and devine cuisine. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Cardiff Bay for lunch or dinner.
The atmosphere was delightful. You can be dressed elegantly or more casual and still feel comfortable. The views to the bay are wonderful. The service was prompt and polite. The food was excellent and well-presented and yet not pretentious. You do not leave the restaurant still feeling hungry. Prices are obviously higher than a casual dining restaurant, but not outrageous. We ended up paying £25 per person which included soup, the main meal, (non-alcoholic) drinks, and tip. Overall, we had a great time. The only nitpick is that I was not too happy with the table we got, but not that bothered to ask to be moved. Plus there were a couple of insects flying around!
It was my first time visiting this restaurant and I was very pleased with the experience and service I received. I will definitely be going there again. The food was incredible, ever so authentic and tasty. The waiting staff were lovely and it was a lovely evening out.
They go above and beyond with customer service to accommodate your needs. Professional service, but also engaging with the customer. One of the best Cotes I've been to andbits in Cardiff bay
