Booked a table for 3 on Monday 24th June 2019 for 7pm on Wednesday 26th June 2019. Emailed to add 4 more people on Tuesday 25th and received no reply. Arrived on 26th at 7pm to find table booked was already occupied. As I'd previously explained to the manager I booked with I required a quiet corner as I would be making a discrete audio recording of my conversation with my dining companions for inclusion in my 4th anniversary radio show. Cote's alternative seating arrangements to the ones we had agreed was unsuitable which meant my guests and I had to relocate to an outdoor table. We didn't wish to eat in the cold outdoor atmosphere and my guests left without ordering. This could have been avoided if the table originally booked had been available. Nonetheless after the recording was made my programme manager and I enjoyed a very nice meal inside.
Delicious dinner, excellent service as ever. Always a pleasure to eat here.
Excellent meal, great service, will be back again very soon.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with you. The meal was delicious, although my first choice was unavailable (asparagus risotto). Service was very good. I don’t like the compulsory service charge. I always leave a tip, but feel that this should be my decision not the company’s.
Staff were extremely helpful, and polite. The food was delicious. An overall excellent experience. Thank you
We think french bread would be Preferable to sourdough bread.
Dined at (late) Saturday lunch time at Cote: a family reunion with 10 adults and a 6 year-old. We'd pre-ordered and all pre-service contact with staff was friendly and helpful. Apart from waiting almost 30 minutes before our aperitifs arrived and almost 45 minutes for starters to appear, we had an excellent time with charming service that will be part of a very, very happy memory for all of us. A steak that was under-done initially was struck off the bill and alternative cocktails produced for those who don't like negronis. The staff were charming, generous and apologetic about delays: it was busy! Thanks Cote. Will be back.
It's consistently great, and a wonderful setting. We all enjoyed it.
Fantastic service and incredible food. The chateaubriand was without a doubt the star of the night, good to absolute perfection, complements once again to the chef. Will definitely return next time we’re in Cardiff and would highly recommend a visit here to anyone who enjoys incredible food.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the food and service was perfect as always.
2nd vist in a week, I love this restaurant. The staff are lovely and the food is amazing! I had the seasonal asparagus to start and beef bourguignon for mains, while my mother had the chicken liver parfait to start and pan roasted haddock wrapped in bacon. Been coming here for 7 years and not been disappointed yet. Even their breakfast is scrummy! Highly recommended. Booking is a must, they get really busy for lunch an evening meals due to the shows.
Pre theatre visit. Lovely food sea bass cooked perfectly. Service a little slow but we had plenty of time and the restaurant was jam packed
As usual the food was very good but the service was very slow, an hour for one course. I mentioned the service to the waitress and she apologised and said because they were so busy, it was packed out, the kitchen was behind. The service is not usually slow at this Cote.
Arrived for breakfast at 11-05 for 11-15 reservation. A bacon baguette with a poached egg and 2 croissants butter and preserves for my wife +2 black coffees .simple...not so...it took twenty minutes for baguette to arrive and my wife gave up on her croissants after 30 minutes and many excuses for non delivery.but enjoyed the coffee
Another good breakfast! If rather noisy as a very busy service..
Pre theatre visit . Very busy but service and quality of food was good
Lovely restaurant with top class food. We enjoyed a lovely Saturday evening with friends. Thank you
Good food .Excellent service.Fabulous atmosphere Overall a very enjoyable lunch
Lovely meal, as always. Despite being extremely busy the service was excellent.
Lovely meal, great service but unfortunately the restaurant was noisy. Didn’t spoil our evening but it was a shame.
Good quality ingredients and freshly cooked! Extensive menu and attentive service! Will certainly visit again - didn’t feel like a chain!
Food good. £5.95 for small glass of wine.....I don’t think so!
Good food, friendly staff, great place to go before a show
Lovely meal and atmosphere. One of our group signed up for the newsletter and got a free bottle of wine. Which was the smoothest of red wines, it was incredible.
Always a pleasure to eat there staff are so prompt pleasant and make you feel welcome
A lovely venue for an excellent meal before or after a show in the Millennium Theatre
Steak frites - steak had no grill colour was well done and rather tough. Seemed as though it had been cooked too slowly.
Excellent food as usual, staff charming, service bit slower than usual
Very good per ballet experience. Glad to have corner table
Enjoyed food as usual and service was good despite it being very busy.
A lovely meal. Service was good and the food was beautifully prepared and served. Most enjoyable
Very good service and menu choices. Reliable place to go.
had a fantastic time in cote Cardiff bay, food and staff were amazing!!😁
Staff very pleasant and extremely helpful. The food was great too!
Great welcome, service and food especially the eggs, toast and black pudding
Mostly good but disappointed by pomme de tartin not crispy but stodgy as if microwaved. Service good and meals were enjoyable otherwise. Elizabeth. C
Very disappointed that the only gins on offer were Gordons and Bombay Sapphire - so had to choose another drink. One of the advantages of Cote is the gluten-free fries. But the fryer was broken and had to have something else.
It was not as good during this latest visit in comparison to previous visits
Attentive service by staff who know the menu well. Food to a very high standard. Look forward to our next visit.
Cannot fault service, setting or food although a tad expensive.
A wonderful meal and a very special D Day welcome for us. Entente Cordiale at its best : vive la France. Vive l’Europe.
Always fantastic value and attentive staff my number one choice restaurant for lunch in Cardiff
Staff were all lovely. Calamari starter disappointing - batter too heavy and not enough garlic. Asparagus risotto was delicious
Lovely meal at this restaurant once again. Service was excellent. I'm sure we will be returning there again soon.
