Côte Cardiff Bay

Waiter was rude and judgemental. Asked for a 2nd bottle of water and he visibly sneered so much so my friend and I both looked at each other at the same time at his reaction. I can only imagine this was because neither of use were drinking alcohol where the restaurant probably makes their money. He didn't check our starters were ok....they were not my friend had burnt bread and I had a hard boiled egg instead of a runny poached one. My main course was no better. Half the chips looked and tasted as though they'd been cooked already i.e. they were burnt and inedible. When the waiter asked about our main courses and I explained the issues he took the bucket of chips and walked off, no apology and never came back. When we paid at the end the main was deducted from the bill but the wait did not even explain this or apologise and did not speak when settling the bill. Rudest man I've ever met. I book this restaurant frequently for colleagues for meetings etc as it is close to office. I wont be booking it again - I'll book Bills next time! The restaurant was about half full so no excuse for bad food and bad service. The early evening courses have jumped up in price significantly also.

The five of us,ladies who lunch,enjoyed a very pleasant long lunch in your restaurant this afternoon.Our table was in a corner close to a window and ideal for 5 people who wanted to chat.We were all very happy with our choice for the three courses;the food was tasty with a variety of flavours and textures and attractively presented.The Sauvignon Blanc was a suitable accompaniment to our meal on a summer afternoon. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We enjoyed our visit.

The food was very good apart from my friend receiving a charred piece of bread on her starter course, which tasted like charcoal, she did complain and was given a fresh piece. I do object to the 12.5% service charge being added to the bill. It should be a discretion of the customer. My friend was offered no compensation for the wait she had to endure whilst I continued to eat my meal to stop it going cold !!

Very enjoyable birthday meal for 21 people - the Cote chain is a safe bet for a big party. Communication excellent - very quick responses to enquires via phone, email & website. Extensive menus including veggie, vegan & gluten-free menus - Cote are very clued up on intolerances etc. Food great and arrived promptly, having ordered in advance. Staff all friendly & helpful. Bit of bill confusion at the end but this was resolved.

Amazing service from all staff and surprise complimentary drink as it was my mum's birthday which was a lovely surprise. Staff went out of their way to ensure food allergies were catered for. Foodles lovely as always in particular the creme Brulee. Thank you.

The lady who served was the most attentive and kind waitress my sister and I have seen in a while. The food was delicious and just a all round good atmosphere, definitely will be heading back to this one very soon!

Nice welcome. Good table. Fab server. Shame about the hair in my food. Dish was replaced in reasonable time and I was able to finish meal with my friend. Meal was comped and comp dessert! Very kind. Would have been happy with free dessert! Very busy but running smoothly with plenty of staff!

Excellent meal with excellent service. Despite the numerous choice of venues in Cardiff Bay we keep coming back to the Cote

As always the service was excellent and efficient. The calamari starter was probably the best ever tasted. Really superb start to our meal, followed with a shared Cote de Bouef main course. It was cooked to perfection. Very pleasant bottle of Syrah complimented the meat nicely. Will be back soon.

Have visited Cote Brasserie on many occasions for breakfast. The atmosphere is lovely and very calm. The full English breakfast is fabulous and is very good vale. Waiting staff very attentive and cannot do enough for you.

we usually go to cotes cheltenham which we thoroughly enjoy. cardiff bay service and hospitalitity is lacking in comparison and wasnt an enjoyable experience. it was busy i appreciate, extremely noisy and staff appeared disorganised.

First time at Côte Brasserie and loved it. Excellent attentive staff and food was delicious. We will definitely be back. The noise level was pretty loud but that was due to a huge party and the staff were very observant and moved us.

Never had a bad meal and staff are always friendly. Only thing I would say is that we book well in advance and still had a table by the door (it was drafty).

Had a wonderful meal for my husband's birthday. The waitress was very attentive and chatted to our 5 year old son so he had a lovely time too.

First time visitors. The previous week we had been to a 'top' restaurant in Cardiff. However, the consensus was that the Cote was a better experience, the food was just as flavoursome and the extra space we had made it more relaxing as a place to eat. We were met with a smile and friendly faces. The standard of customer care then continued to be excellent throughout the evening. Our food was served without delays and the menu has encouraged us to plan a return, to try different items. It was almost like being back in France on holiday! Finally, I liked the service charge being added to the bill with the written assurance that the staff would share it. All in all , a great night was had by all.

Both and food and service were impeccable. Ambience of the restaurant was appealing.
