Great food in a busy but relaxed atmosphere before the opera. Slight problem with hot chocolate sauce being cold - was immediately rectified and waitress spoke to the manager without being asked and the pudding was deducted from our bill ! Excellent waitress - great sense of humour Hope to return soon Thank you Cote !!
Fabulous food, really good attentive service from people you really felt cared about your experience. We’ve tried other restaurants in Cardiff Bay and had very poor experiences, this was in a different league entirely. One of our party was gluten free and she felt really looked after and respected - which is by no means always the case. There was a good choice of vegan food also. We had a limited time slot to get to the opera, and the service was so efficient we had time to spare. Excellent!
Very enjoyable time with good food good service good wine.
Extremely busy before a rugby international , the food and service was exceptional as always.
Fillet steak and peppercorn sauce was delicious along with the potato gratin. Service was quick and waitress was very friendly. We arrived fairly early so not much of an atmosphere
Excellent space, service and quality of food and drink as usual.
Really good pre opera dinner. Enjoyed the food and the ambiance
Enjoyed an evening catching up with friends in thjs very nice restaurant this evening. Cosy atmosphere and attentive staff.
Late booking, we arrived early and staff were welcoming and happy to fit us in early. The waitress, a young French Lady, was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return on the basis of this level of service.
Always friendly and a pleasure to revisit. A good meal
This stands out in Cardiff Bay for the quality and range of food available - grown up food in a sea of mediocrity.
We spent two evenings running before going to and after leaving the Millennium. Food and service especially good Would not hesitate to recommend it strongly to everyone. We will be re-visiting when we go to Cardiff again
Always good value food and slick service , good location, pleasant staff
The food was very good. The waitress who waited on us was a 12 out of 10. Felt very welcome. I would recommend Cotes to all my friends.
Really enjoyed our meal. We chose from the a la carte menu where there is a good choice. We were attending the theatre afterwards and could have chosen from the early evening menus but preferred other dishes. The Muscadet was delicious and suitably chilled! Cote was a little bit noisy but it was a busy time of the evening so we didn't mind.
Had to return my main meal as this was cold
Excellent food, as always, friendly efficient service and a wonderful ambience, busy but not too loud. One of our favourite restaurants.
Kind helpful staff - good food - we arrived early with an extra guest and they could not have been more polite and accommodating. Half the party had to leave early to go to the theatre and these were served swiftly with minimum fuss. We were all very impressed and enjoyed our meal - thank you
Always good here! We were very much delayed, but we called the restaurant and they retained our table for us. We were in a bit more of a hurry as a consequence, but the staff were great and produced our food promptly, but without making us feel rushed. The food, from the "Prestige" menu, was, as ever, delicious.
Standard is always good for food, service and choice. Highly recommend
Warm welcome, prompt and friendly service from our Portuguese waiter, good value food
Food was ok but the main took a long time to come after the starter
excellent value in the heart of the bay with great service
Excellent service, great food, great ambiance. Will definitely come again!
We like Cote at Mermaid Quay and are relatively frequent visitors. Tonight was not our usual experience- it was not as consistent and good quality not as good. Steak frites - steak was almost cold, very unusual. Pork belly - not cooked well - crackling clearly a blow torch job rather than a genuine roast belly. Cocktails - limited to themes. Bar should be able to mix classics, like a gin martini, rather than just a theme of the month. We did not complain as we wanted to enjoy the evening. We will return and look forward to better ones at Cote, as per our past experience.
What a lovely night, lovey restaurant with amazing food with fab company.
Fantastic, tasty food, never had a bad meal here. Good customer service.
Starter was ok, service was good. Food was rushed out. Lamb was terrible fatty and tough.
Really great menu choices, great food and great service Thanks again Matthew
Had a lovely valentine’s meal, the staff were very attentive and lovely
Amazing food, great presentation, lovely staff! Will definitely visit again.
good quality breakfast, variety of food available, nice atmosphere, excellent value for money given the standard of the food.
Amazing food and brilliant service- what a lovely meal. Would go back
Took advantage of the complementary blood orange martini, this did not disappoint! Stunning meal and excellent service. Can’t fault anything!
Absolutely diabolical, I had to send mine back as it was supposed to be a fish pie and it was full of raw leeks to pack it full of cheaper ingredients. My husband ordered sea-bass and it was served with a large caramelised onion and a minimal amount of sea bass that looked like one side of the fillet!! This too went back !! Then to add insult to injury when I went to pay the bill they slammed a 12.5% gratuity fee on the bill for ‘ good service’ ..... what a joke !!! Don’t bother going to this restaurant it’s over priced and the quality is shocking !!
service and food excellent. The pricing was on the high side
Very enjoyable pre-opera meal. The restaurant was very busy but the staff coped very well and it all made for a nice "buzz".The food was excellent French Brasserie style and the staff,as ever, contributed greatly to an enjoyable couple of hours.
The atrocious weather in Cardiff Bay became insignificant with the welcome at Cote which was was warm and welcoming . We had a nice table which we requested on line . The waitress was helpful and friendly throughout . We had starters main course and a nice bottle of white wine . Greta end to a nice day . Shame about the rugby result in Dublin . Will visit Cote again
We all enjoyed our meal very much .Wiil recommend certainly come again.
Generally really good experience. However, the restaurant was very busy which impacted slightly on the atmosphere. Possibly this contributed to a couple of issues with service in that we ordered bread and more water and neither arrived.
Service was very slow to start with, had to ask to be served.
My starter Roquefort Salad was served with very rubbery croutons. I mistook them for old bacon lardons . Replaced when I complained but waited at least 20 mins for a replacement. Not up to my local Cote restaurants standard sadly
Always reliable, always a pleasure! It's the place to be!
Another lovely meal, service was excellent, as always. This month's cocktail was really good.
It was a cold winters evening but the welcome was warm and food lovely. Cote is a consistent restaurant group offering lovely food and value for money.
Always amazing! Great food, excellent staff - never disappointed! My go to place for food in the Bay.
Lovely food. Good service. Bit annoyed that a 12.5% service charge is added to the bill. I know you can take it off but it's a little awkward when the waiter is standing over you. When did it increase from 10%?!? I would have left a tip but it should be your choice how much you leave!
Another lovely dinner. Great food and wine (complimentary bottle as Cote rewards member much appreciated). Attentive unrushed service. Buzzy atmosphere. Our go to restaurant in Cardiff Bay.
Poor menu only acceptable food not what I expected to be honest
Brilliant pre-theatre meal, lovely food, great staff, got very crowded though.
