Côte Kensington

It was a busy evening so the service was a little slower than usual but was excellent as always. Food was well presented, excellently cooked and tasted wonderful. All six of us had a different main course and they were all delicious.

We arrived and was placed on a unsuitable table, but once we asked to be moved it was not a problem. Lovely staff especially the general manager.

As an elderly widow, your kind offer of the delicious chocolate mousse was much appreciated and enticing .Booking online was easy and successful, a booster for the morale of one who is not too skilled at IT work. .A very warm welcome was lovely,especially being alone on Easter Sunday. Staff were courteous and efficient. The Risotto Verde was wonderful, great flavour and most appropriate for a Springtime Lunch. The Chocolate Mousse was outstanding, followed by a perfect latte. The Cote at Kensington is my favourite, spacious, always well maintained, will return soon to my table by the window. Thank you for my Happy Easter experience.

Popped up to Kensington to take my wife out for her birthday meal (she was working up there). Chose Cote because we enjoy the Covent Garden pre-theatre. So glad I did because, as usual, the food was excellent and a very reasonable price. Great service, efficient & friendly.

Nearly empty this lunchtime which is hardly surprising with all that is going on (coronavirus) but the food was as good as usual and the peace and quiet enjoyable as this branch can be quite noisy. I feel very sorry for all restaurants at this time and fear many chains will not survive.

Our usual good experience. Helpful service, tasty creative food, reasonably priced for what it is. Come regularly (circa very 5/6 weeks), because we are assured of the quality and the friendly helpful service.

It's always nice to be sharing this warm atmosphere where the food is always nice and the servers bring a special touch. I mentioned it before the voice on the telephone spoils it all as she has no knowledge of the French language and say BraZerie instead of braSSerie as in aSSiSt. Do you understand ? it underestimates your so called French restaurant & the writing of this seems pretty useless.

We, a party of 4, arrived at the same time as a party of 24. My first thoughts were oh disaster! Not so, we were rapidly processed to our table and the staff were absolutely superb in attending to us. Food excellent and attentiveness of staff under pressure was amazing.

Cote is best value chain restaurant in London, I reckon. It's not fine dining but it's an honest meal, good recipes, nearly always good service, at a very fair price. Proper napkins.

Great meal before visiting the Royal Albert Hall. There were 22 of us so no mean feat to cater for such a big party at one time. Staff were all very accommodating and looked after us well. Thank you! Joanne Bennett

Great food but fix the noise levels as it's detrimental to the whole experience

Very disappointing start, despite the restaurant being virtually empty I asked the waiter for a bigger table for my friend & I, but he said he could only seat us at a small table for 2, sandwiched between two other tables of two diners. Literally 2mins after that he seated two guys at a table for 4 behind us! I spoke to the manager and he moved us, but it was poor customer service right at the start.

Early evening meal on visit to London to celebrate my birthday. Staff were excellent, food fabulous and special dessert treat by staff singing Happy Birthday. Thank you guys. We will return next time in London.

The usual great meal and same for the staff. BUT you screwed my carefully requested table up. YET AGAIN. What's the point in asking for a table number when you just simply give it to someone else even though we arrive a few minutes early!

Food was good as usual for Cote. The initial welcome at this branch was indifferent and I found it irritating that having booked a table we were allocated the worst one in the house in the draught by the front doors when there were plenty of tables in the main heart of the restaurant. The host didn’t seem particularly pleased to reallocate a different table. In fairness the service was pretty good when we did get to our table.

Food was very good. menu choices broad especially with specials. Service was generally good if a little inconsistent across different staff members when shift changed

My grandaughter and I had a lovely visit to Cote in Kensington. We go to Cote a lot as my grandaugter has Coeliac disease and we know that we are in safe hands. Although we always like Cote Restaurants, I must say that Kensington is now a favourite; we both had one of the best steaks ever! The service was friendly and efficient , the food really good and the ambience warm and friendly too. We both loved it ...thank you!

We were thoroughly impressed by the excellent quality of the food, which was exceeded only by the most friendly staff I've come across in a long time. I would particularly like to single out Maria and our anonymous South African waiter for their attentive service.

I had Sunday lunch at Cote Kensington with my mother and daughter. We dine weekly at Cote Muswell Hill because we love it but on this occasion the standard was not acceptable. Firstly, we ordered a garlic fougasse which arrived dry, overbaked and completely tasteless compared with the usual melt-in-the-mouth, tear and share soft bread oozing with garlic. When I complained the server said that maybe they hadn't had a delivery and it was cooked yesterday!! She asked if we wanted to replace it with another dish, suggested pissaladiere, which we accepted but then we got charged for it when we assumed this would be complimentary. In the end the pissaladiere was also dry with the cheese congealed on top. Two of us had the chateaubriand which is the most expensive dish at £20pp. We asked for it to be cooked medium but it was too rare. I couldn't even get the attention of any server to flag this so just ended up eating the edges. It was so disappointing. We usually have desserts and coffee but on this occasion we just decided not to risk further disappointment. As I said - this is unusual as we frequently have fabulous service and amazing food at Cote so for that reason I decided to write about it. Thanks Claire
