Staff friendly and helpful. Food arrived promptly - very helpful as we were time-limited - and drinks too. Food good, although steak a little stringy. Cheese and spinach pancakes particularly liked. My vegetarian companion commented on the relative lack of options for her - and nothing vegan. This is quite unusual today. Something for Côte to consider addressing?
A minor problem with one course was immediately resolved by the manager and replaced with a higher-value meal. We will be back there again on Saturday-what could be a better recommendation?
As always in Cote lovely food and good service making an enjoyable start to our evening.
Met with friends before a Prom. Excellent service, super food, reasonable prices. Completed our meal quickly & got to the Albert Hall on time. Will certainly return!
Very nice meal & service , lots of choice! Wine a little bit too expensive.
Warm, elegant and same time casual place with great customer service and surprisingly good food and generous portions.
Good food, good service, lovely evening. We look forward to the Cote de boeuf specials in August and this certainly didn't disappoint! The beef was excellent, rare and tasty. The side garnish of 'salad' was, however rather inadequate, being a few sprigs of parsley (!?) a few capers and two tiny rings of raw red onion. After it was served, seeing that this was inadequate, we ordered a side of spinach, which was nice but lukewarm. All the other dishes, however, were top-notch as usual, and we washed it down with a nice Pinot Noir. Our friends enjoyed their second meal of the week there, too. (they holiday in Kensington every year and have been visiting this Cote since we introduced it to them about 5 years ago.) We use many Cote branches, and Kensington is a favourite, as it is friendly and the tables are well spaced, but it is very noisy and there is really no need for 'background music'. Perhaps the management could use their discretion and switch it off when the restaurant is full? Overall very enjoyable, see you again soon!
Excellent meal this evening.Had the summer special Cote De Beouf.Cooked to a turn. Not easy to get a good steak at this price
Great food and service really enjoyed the day I would return
Although very busy for the Proms the staff managed to serve the food fairly quickly and so we had time to get to the Proms without being late. Staff friendly and helpful especially the lady hostess
Awesome food, great value, good service, and overall wonderful experience.
We frequent Cote Kensington fairly often, and this time was no exception in the excellent quality of service, food and value for money. All staff were welcoming, warm and professional. Thank you.
We use Cote a lot..probably a dozen times a year largely pre theatre or very late lunch. Recently we have noted a significant change of approach. We had a late lunch at Cote Kensington. Two rump steaks ordered 'medium' arrived literally shrivelled and 'cremated'. They should never have left the kitchen and certainly should never have been served. To be fair the member of staff who came over did not demure..just looked aghast and took them away without even been asked. We made no fuss. Such things happen. So when a manager appeared and apologised it was appreciated. However in those circumstances we a bit shock there was no recognition on the bill. To add insult of course the full 12.5% (voluntary/complusory) service charge was added.
Excellent early dinner. Staff were outstanding, food very good, particularly the French Onion Soup 1 Bistro atmosphere and relaxed dining.
We had a very good meal. Very frirendly staff. This is our second visit to this restaurant .
we had a really good time with great food and drinks
"Rapide" service as requested, only down factor was loud gentleman at neightbouring table.
Nice ambiance and very good service! Food was just ok! I had the trout, nice but certainly not special! My colleague had the grilled chicken which I would rate the same. The dessert was not special, we had the peach crumble. Good value!
Enjoyable food, good value, pleasant surroundings and excellent service. Always enjoy eating here.
A great venue for a pre-Proms supper. Very good service, good food and wine and a convenient location. Thoroughly recommended.
Quality French food. Excellent service and atmosphere. Will certainly eat here again if in the area.
Everything came right for an enjoyable dining experience. The service was timely and attentive, the food (fish parmentier) was tasty and wholesome and the drink (including Lagrade wine and the complimentary cocktail) was good. The restaurant was bustling and a pleasure to visit.
Very noisy, wish we'd been offered another table that we saw (on the way to toilet) after we had started our meal .
Always good service at Cote. This one is particularly special. Thank you.
We were not as impressed as usual (we've been several times here and many times to other Cotes). We both had a good fried courgette starter but the main, sea bream on a bed of chick peas was very bland and rather tasteless. The service was also slow though I know it was a busy time.
Good honest food as ever at very reasonable prices. What's not to like.
Meeting friends for a relaxed lunch and catch-up, Cote is my go-to place as the staff from entry through service and departure are, without exception, friendly, welcoming and efficient and the food - from whichever menu you choose - is terrific. The wine, too, is fairly priced and although I’m not a huge fan of the house white wine (love the red though!), there is a decent variety of wines by the glass including a Sancerre (yesterday’s choice) and a Chablis in white. I love that they don’t play pointless music, that there is an accessible loo for this crip on two sticks and that the staff receive the 12.5% put on the bill. Finally, in this hot weather, the interior of the brasserie is always pleasant as there are windows opening onto an outside side area (not accessible to diners) allowing a good airflow.
Food as good as usual and being surprisingly quiet (it is August of course) everything was quick and easy. The only downside is that this restaurant tends to get quite hot.
Good prompt service before a concert, and the usual high standard of food. We enjoyed our meal very much. Thank you!
As good as ever and surprisingly quiet this Thursday lunchtime but then again it is August. Tends to be a bit hot however and very difficult to get one of the few outside tables.
My 6th visit and, as ever, excellent service, delicious food and good value for money. Looking forward to my 7th visit.
Regular visitor to cote and never disappointed.....such great real food at extremely reasonable prices.
I find Cote to be consistent. Always a great variety as they change the menu for the season. Always fabulous service.
Good ambience but a bit noisy and friendly, efficient staff. Excellent starter of tomatoes and goats cheese and tasty chocolate mousse for dessert. But the sea trout was disappointing - not particularly fresh and lacked flavour and the green beans were barely cooked. Overall not quite as good food as another Cote we've enjoyed in Reigate.
Another great visit. The chicken was so good! Well done
Cote Kensington was up to its usual high standard. Great brasserie food at a great price. Set lunch was terrific value. Attentive service as always.
Just a little noisy and quite slow service but the food was good..
My mum has mobility issues and was well looked after by the staff. The food was very good and the price very reasonable. We had a lovely dinner before heading to the Royal Albert Hall.
Usual excellent service & food, especially lobster. Hope we get it as a special again soon.
The Kensington Cote is such a great restaurant! The food is good and staff are amazing and the atmosphere lively. Everyone in the restaurant last night seemed to be having a wonderful time. We were celebrating with friends from abroad and they were equally impressed. It is also close to the Albert Hall so a perfect place to eat before going to the Proms. I sometimes east here almost every night since they have an early bird menu - it is that good!
Good managers, staff and professional chefs. Like to have dinner in this place all the time.
We always enjoy lunches at Cote Kensington. The choices are good, tasty and favourably priced. We just wish our table was always available when we want it !
We always eat at Cote Brasserie Kensington before the Proms and this time I had the haddock fishcake which was absolutely delicious and probably the best fishcake I've had for years. The food is always good quality and the service excellent.
Typical French cafe setting quality food and service. Friendly atmosphere and even got a table outside for coffee afterwards
We were a pre-theatre group and all went very well.
This convenient and pretty little Côte tucked away in Kensington Court is ideal for meeting with friends centrally. Today had the sea bass and mussels - perfect sauces with both. Looks like they may have additional seats outside soon as the gardeners were working on greening up the side garden.
Ok eatery with good ambience although a little frenetic in the evening
I love this restaurant - perfect place for a spot of lunch before walking to V&A museum. Excellent food and service and good choices
Perfect experience as expected of this restaurant. Good food and excellent service - definitely recommend.
Excellent service and good food. Friendly staff and value for money
