I was a bit disappointed! I had been to this restaurant several times and had such a good time. So of course my partner wanted to celebrate his birthday dinner there as it is in our local area. But the service was so slow and the food was not up to their usual standards. We had to ask what had changed we then found out that there was a new chef. I am sorry to say then need the other chef back. We will be giving this place a break for awhile.
We have been here before and enjoyed our meal, however on this occasion everything was late, or cold, or the wrong dish, except for one of our party of four. They did respond when we told them, but I will not be going back.
Many things on the menu were not available, but the quality of the food was good.
Great food with great friend and lots of giggles. It was my friends first visit and she was very happy with food and atmosphere. Only annoying thing was waiter leaving glasses on the table very loudly
Mixed grill was great. Fries were good and also chilli sauce. No beer in draught which was a shame. But they did have casablanca lager which was nice. Service was good. Great for a pre Lexi cinema visit.
Really delicious food and very good value for money. We didn’t have to wait long to be served and it felt very unhurried.
Friendly service staffs, good food, satisfying portions... will visit again
the experience at Le comptoir was lovely, food was delicious
Le Comptoir has great food and great service - Thank you!
Service was personal and professional. Food was excellent. Looking forward to my next visit!
A return visit to the restaurant. Food and services were great.
Lovely place in Kensal Rise Good food and lovely staff
Good food. Good atmosphere. Good service! What more could we ask for?!
This was our first visit to the restaurant, everything was great.
Excellent food. So fresh, tasty and well made. We really enjoyed it.
Met old friend for lunch. As always, food, ambience and service were just what was ordered. Back with friends over from Australia today - at their request. Looking forward to it
Brilliant and excellent and tasty and fab and humous mmmmm
Great food, good portion and good service! We love this place.
my friends and I loved the food, the tagines were delicious and the salads too. We also had a Lebanese wine that was good. Baklavas were excellent. The service is friendly and attentive. I’m looking forward to going back
Excellent food reasonably priced. A bit lacking in atmosphere on a wet Good Friday lunchtime but service was quick and attentive . Would go again
The food was delicious and a generous portion. The service was good too and the restaurant is easy to get to to. They have a good choice of dishes which are Moroccan.
Excellent on every level: food, service and wine all good as ever. Friends from out of town v impressed and envious. Looking forward to next time - 'soon'
The food is freshly made and very tasty. The service is good and its a nice little restaurant for a good meal at a decent price.
The mains were good and hearty. My only criticism is the dessert was clearly store bought and was the only disappointing part of the meal. However, my sister still loved the cake so I suppose it's up to personal taste.
Food was nice, Esp the starters. Seating was a little bit uncomfortable and the resturarnt wasn't bright enough to read the menu. However the service was good and waitress was really friendly.
Excellent food, staff were very friendly and over all really good atmosphere. The BYOW is a great edition and its not going to break the bank.
Great food, nice enviroment, just a bit noisy but because of a birthday party. Staff very kind and good price. I definitely will come back.
Although the service was good and starters were great unfortunately we had a bug in our main food ...so we had to leave without finishing our meal
Very friendly and fast, with excellent food. Decor is standard Middle East but pleasing. There was a nice family atmosphere when we went. Overall, recommended
I was a bit dissappointed with my main course 'Chicken tagine'. Mezze starter was delicious. Maybe I chose the wrong main course. the deserts were lovely. It was a Monday night so not very busy but we had a nice time.
First time there and was very impressed. The only problem was that they didn't have everything that was on the menu. Will definitely go back.
Food was lovely. Service was abit slow- but we visited on a Friday evening ending at peak time. Would definetley recommend and visit again. Thanks
Lovely restaurant, was very noisy though .Excellent food. WE had lamb tagine. Starter was aubergine puree, maybe bit to much mayonnaise in it. WE will return
I love this place. Been going since soon after it opened and have never been let down. The staff are lovely, the food is great, prices are reasonable and the ambience is wonderful. As a vegetarian, it is especially nice to have a wide chouce of unusual and tasty dishes.
Lovely food, good atmosphere, friendly staff, reasonably priced and children are welcome. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, we had a late Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I have eaten here since it opened. The last few times has not been good, not because of the food but because of the large groups of noisy people. It is a small venue and a table of more than six can overwhelm everyone else's experience. Last night however was very pleasant as there were no large groups of people. I had almost decided to stop going but I will continue to recommend it at the moment.
We went for the sharing set menu for £19.95 pp. There was a good selection of hot and cold mezze for starters, served with flat bread. If one were disappointed with the amount of meat mezze, this is soon overcome with the mains. My main of mixed grill was excellent, with lots of well cooked meat, a couple of good sauces, rice and salad. My partners lamb tagine was less impressive. Although it contained two whole lamb shanks, the seasoning was underwhelming, the lamb not tender enough, and there was not much else to the dish, other than lamb and flat bread. Dessert was a nice selection of 4 pastries to share, served with mint tea. Although the restaurant allows you to bring in your own wine, the lebanese red we ordered was surprisingly pleasant. Overall a good dining experience for a local restaurant, with good and efficient service and reasonably priced.
Superb food with lovely flavour and taste! Nice atmosphere and good staff! We were having a great time and really enjoyed this restaurant! We are coming back in the future! Thank you!
We came here on a Wednesday and were surprised at how busy it was. Tasty food. Good prices and good atmosphere. A nice little local place!
I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. There may have been a change of chef because the food, whilst still very good, has changed somewhat. For example, the tagine now comprises of meat off the bone, with potatoes on top and with far less flavouring with olives and lemon than it used to have, and the portion is bigger. Consequently it is now almost a completely different dish. The food seems to have lost some of it's original authenticity. Perhaps they are adapting to what they perceive are customer's demands, if so this is a real shame as that is what made this place so good before. Twice during the evening the table for two next to my table had three people sitting at it which meant that constantly during the meal one of their group was practically touching my side the whole time as they were taking up the small gap between the tables and seating. I have never known a restaurant to allow a table for two to be used by three people. The space in between the tables is already small and the third person had to sit with their back to my shoulder. It was not a pleasant dining experience. I will not be going back in the evening again.
We had a very enjoyable evening dining here. The food was very good, the staff very pleasant and the service was good. I would recommend to my friends.
Food was great. Portion size was great. The only thing I would say is that because it was a small restaurant, when it became busier, you could hear everyone's conversation.
DIsappointing - the food wasn't very good. It's a small restaurant but the many bike delivery people going in and out really affected the ambience.
Lovely food and great staff. Had the prawn tagine which was delicious and full of king prawns. Always far too full for desert but one of these days... Love this place!
Comptoir Mezze - lovely food and great little restaurant. Been coming here since it opened and always have good food and service here. I recommend it.
Great food and lovely restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. We were the last left in the restaurant but they didn't encourage us to leave. We will definately come back!
I ordered a vegetarian mezze for £9. There was not much on the plate - one falafel and one piece of haloumi, a tablespoon of hummus and aubergine and some tabouleh. It came with either pitta bread or veg croutons.
Great food and service. There was a lovely atmosphere and it was quite reasonable price-wise too! Especially given how large the portions are. We'll be back for sure :)
Great food, service not what it used to be unfortunately, it was inattentive & had to eg ask for water several times before they brought it. We had a selection of the Mezze and every dish was very nice.
Very nice authentic food and atmosphere. We went there for lunch. Calamari and moussaka were tasty. A bit spicy, if you don't normally eat spicy food but I liked it.
