We enjoyed every dish and the sake choice too. Excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff. Extra words to get to the very high twenty five word minimum limit..
Very good food the prices go along with the place towards the expensive side but in general very good. Negative thing was that service was a little bit slow.
Great service, very “real” and friendly. The sushi was good, it has the potential to be great. Atmosphere was good. Decor was fine, could be better.
The food was appealing to the eyes, smell was inviting and the taste was nothing short of authentic Japanese! Service was friendly and helpful, and didn’t have to wait long from ordering to receiving my meal! Charles
relaxed helpful service and excellent food. I would recommend this Japanese restaurant it was busy and buzzing. but you must be prepared to book upfront
Very friendly staff and tasty sushi, sashimi, small plates rec. My main criticism is the portion size and meat content in the grilled main dishes. Ridiculous.
Restaurant was great. Service was good. The apps were good. The fish was superb. It tasted fresh, and well prepared by the chef. Sake we ordered was excellent. Next time I'm in London, I will definitely be returning.
Visited for the first time tiday. Kudos for the amazimg food, service and sake recommendation! Will be back in a couple of weeks with my brother!
I can think of nowhere better for a quick lunch with wonderfully prepared food in a simple surrounding - just off one of the busiest places on the planet! Japanese comfort food done so well. thank you
The fish quality is really superb. The staff is also very friendly, but could be better trained to be consistent in Japanese manners. It used to be more Japanese.
Just all around awful experience. The entire food were bland menu was boring and couldn't believe the taste of the sashimi menu which was just awful
The food was excellent, one of the best Japanese restaurants in London. Food was really fresh, well prepared and cooked, beautifully presented. But have coffee elsewhere!
The service was typically Japanese (subtly attentive) but as you would hope in any restaurant, the food was the star of the show. It was absolutely exceptional. Love the small plate (izakaya) style meal as you get to try lots of different things. Everything was great, but I have to mention the seared fatty tuna sashimi and the Gyu Tataki which I would never tire of eating. Price wise, all Japanese restaurants are relatively expensive and Chisou is no exception, but it is not excessively expensive. That said, the food is so good you don’t begrudge paying a little bit more.
The food is consistently good. It's our go to restaurant in London for good traditional Japanese food. Oishi desu! The service can be a little hit and miss sometimes but nothing that puts us off going back.
Dishes were great but serving was not perfect. For exemple, Tempura was served prior to sashimi, a little bit old wet towel etc. But overall great considering its location, price.
Authentic Japanese food, highly recommend the set menu that includes miso soup, salad, choice of main and sliced orange for dessert. Staff are attentive and friendly.
Great and very friendly staff! Very fresh fish and generally really good food! Would definitely go back and would recommend to others - looking forward to try out their other restaurants
Very fresh fish. Very good service. The place is quiet so ideal for a catch up with an old friend!! Good choice of sushi and wine
The service was exceptional, from waitress recommendations to the quality of the food. I especially enjoyed the ability to share such a wide range of dishes, such as the chef's sashimi selection. Will definitely be returning.
The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented and all round a great experience, would go back every time in London. Maybe felt a little rushed to end, but it was late
This is my favourite Japanese restaurant! The miso black cod lunch set is very reasonable price but most importantly delicious! Perfect place to go before or after shopping at Oxford Circus!
The team are so welcoming and polite, but better than that you get a real feeling of traditional Japanese hospitality. The food is exceptionally good too, the fish/rice balance on the sushi is perfect. Our waitress - Su - was just delightful. One of my favourite restaurants in London, all the quality without the unnecessary razzle dazzle if you get my drift!!
It is rare for me to over ratings - But we had a great experience fantastic staff great food - Great all round, should be a 9
The restaurant's atmosphere was very Japanese, as seen by the mainly Japanese customers who spoke Japanese to the waiters. But even though we weren't their regular/main customers, the service towards us was really good. The food was pricey for the quality - the salmon wasn't the tastiest, and the chicken cutlet was only good for the price of £16.50. We chose from the pre-theatre menu, so the meals came with starters (soup and salad), a bowl of rice and orange for dessert. If you're willing to spend a bit more (i.e. >£20) then there is much more variety.
The food is just magnifique ! And the waiter and waitress so professional and friendly Thank you very much for this beautiful diner. Really appreciate
Wonderful dishes and price was reasonable. Staffs were very friendly. It was my friend's BDay and upon ordering dessert we're given free-complementary cake. I will visit again soon #
Excellent business lunch. Quiet enough to talk while still retaining some atmosphere. Food was excellent (set meal shashimi) and wine reasonably priced. Definitely will be back.
Excellent food and fast service, perfect for a quick business lunch. Miso soup and in side out rolls were great with edamame on the side.
Chose the selections of sashimi/sushi plus tempura and a starter of edamame peas. All very fresh/good food with attentive but not over-intrusive service. I have been to Chisou a few times before and would not hesitate to do so again.
We had a wonderful time, great fresh food and excellent service. Whenever we are for the next time in London, we will gladly visit Chisou again.
Incredibly authentic and High quality Japanese food. Excellent t Service. Perfect experience with my girlfriend. I can recommend Chisou with the utmost satisfaction. Looking forward to going again.
Fabulous food very nice restaurant. Quite expensive I felt but the quality of the fish made it worthwhile. Felt a bit 'rushed' to order my food.
It was my husband's birthday and they helped me to surprise him. Excellent service and they are very polite too. Of course the quality of meals are super. Very satisfied.
We had an excellent meal. The choices were very good and we had a mixture of hot and cold dishes. They had an impressive list of sake too by the carafe too. Prices were high-ish but expected for that quality of food and wine. We will go back.
just pop down for Lunch, as always great fresh food, friendly staff. One of the best Japanese restaurant in central London. The price is reasonable too.
Atmosphere is really authentic, location is fantastic and the quality of fish is unparalleled. Their signature dishes in particular are creative and delicious. Staff are incredibly attentive and adaptable. Only downside is price - much too expensive, especially if you're eating for one or two; worth it if going in a larger group and sharing dishes, or celebrating a special occasion.
Very welcoming and attentive staff. Nice atmosphere, no loud music, enough light but not too bright. Food was excellent and served quite speedily. Very reasonably priced.
Great selection of sake!! Lovely food and service. Well recommended for any occasion. Friendly staff, good knowledge and detailed attention. Enjoyed fully with surprisingly low bills.
well organized and great dishes. really enjoyed it. the restaurant kindly reminded me of my reservation around lunch which was quite helpful. thanu you !
We had a lovely time at Chisou - the food was excellent, as was the service, and the waiter was very helpful with choices and on checking on my dairy intolerance.
The food and service here is excellent, well worth a visit. Little bit on the pricey side, but then it is in Mayfair. The only hiccup was when I was paying in Scottish notes, which were eventually accepted. Both the food and drink menus are extensive with a good variety of options. I tried some dishes that were new to me and I loved them. I would especially recommend the Octopus wasabi Sashimi, it was very well presented, tasted excellent, ans was a good portion size.
A very successful night of food and nice environment. The choice was excellent as I am vegan and my partner likes her tuna tartare- we were both very satisfied. The staff were very friendly. The service was slightly slow after we entered but came up to speed later. We were relaxed as the place was busy.
Was a business lunch and clients were very impressed by the food quality. Highly recommend the miso black cod, tastes so good! price is very reasonable
Freshest sushi ever. I've travelled the world eating sushi and find it hard to find my "spot". Well... I just found it!! I highly recommend
I have been in this restaurant lots of time, very good service , the food is very good and very good value, will return again.
Good service, excellent food, just wish it wasn't quite so pricey! In love with the fatty tuna, a must-try if you are eating at Chisou.
Great food and great service. Worth the money. You wont taste better Japanese food. Food was fresh and the staff were brilliant very friendly and polite.
Excellent food and service. Very good sake list with lots of variety. Great choice of cooked food with plenty of seasonal specials. Very good sushi.
Good food and amazing service! Happy atmosphere and it is also a good place to go for a date. Octopus and prawn nigiri 10/10. I will be back
Still my favourite Japanese food in London, with lovely and friendly staff. Make sure to try the butterfish sashimi and some of their amazing sake
