Fabulous as always. Great to have an independent restaurant in horsham. Great venue, friendly staff, lovely food. We go back as often as we can.

This was our 4th time but not as impressive as previous visits we waited 70 minutes for our mains to arrive I had ordered chicken and it was very over cooked the other 3 meals were fine. Ask for a jug of water then had to ask again my dad had eaten a chilli and in need of washing it down he is elderly. Also waited 10 mins on arrival before being ask for any drinks. Would come again as generally enjoy the food but service needs improving.

The service was very attentive - even too much at times. Food was excellent and my partner and I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Carmella

Lovely food. Great service. Only negative was location of table. We were right next to the front door and felt a little on the outskirts.

Disappointed as this was one of my favourite restaurants. The mothers day fixed menu was disappointing. The starter was ok but not very inspired. The main was similar to the starter but the ragu was a bit too close to a bbq sauce and the dessert was inedible.

Lovely food and atmosphere, good friendly service. Just right for a Mother’s Day celebration. Now we are looking forward to our next visit in two weeks.

Excellent restaurant, we went for a birthday celebration and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent food, they even brought out our own birthday cake and provided plates and a knife.

Lovely restaurant. We had a great fish stew - delicious 😊 We felt a little rushed toward the end, being offered the bill twice as we finished dessert, but it's better to be offered than ignored in a restaurant. We'll definitely return.

Never disappoints, always excellent food and great service, you would have to travel a long way to get as good a restaurant as this one.

Very hospitable and great food that represents real value for money. Great to see a local business that gives you something so different to the restaurant chains!

Poor service. The food was fine but the service was very poor with the lead waiter in particular being tantamount to rude. I will not be going there again.

Service was good and food was reasonable quality Italian grub. Definitely provides alternatives to the standard Italian menus the chains churn out these days. No kids menu but the half portion of adults hat they offer is very big and my boys gobbled it up, good value for me.

Even though there were only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant (it was Tuesday night) there was a really nice atmosphere. The food was lovely and the lady who served us, I believe she was the owner, was welcoming and was obviously passionate about her work.

Didn’t have the wine choice we wanted - chose Carmelas as last time they had a lovely rose sparkling. Although not her fault at all, she was very pleasant, we had a waitress in training -probably not a good idea on a Friday evening. Piece of sharp hard plastic found in pasta, was offered another main course after everyone else had finished, eventually was taken off of the bill. Menu was uninspiring compared to previous visits. Probably won’t return.

The food and atmosphere were both fantastic. Proper stone baked pizzas, generally great Italian food. Staff are really attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend it.

Lovely restaurant, great setting, amazingly friendly and accommodating staff! It was my sisters birthday and they brought out a cake with candles, sung her happy birthday and were generally just super friendly and attentive. We had a lovely meal and walked out stuffed and happy!

We went to this restaurant with another couple to celebrate two birthdays. We found the food excellent, the staff helpful and very friendly. We couldn’t of asked for more.

We had a family lunch at Carmelas to celebrate our mum's birthday. The staff could not have been more attentive and made the occasion very special. The food was also excellent!

Amazing food, lovely friendly service. We last visited 4 years ago and have vowed to go much more often and support a local business instead of the identical high street chains.

A very enjoyable meal - mains and puds for the two of us in a pleasant setting on a damp and chilly Tuesday evening, though with surprisingly few fellow diners.

Lovely food but always under staffed. If you are seated upstairs you tend to feel forgotten about. However, staff that were there were very good and offered a free bottle of wine as they knew people had been waiting a long time. All in all, deliciously authentic Italian food , just need more staff to serve it.

Great food but extremely slow service. Order taken promptly then waited 45 minutes for a bread platter and then another hour for main course. Loved the food but wouldn’t go back if I was in a hurry.

Really good variety on menu, staff were helpful, efficient and courteous, even on a bust Friday evening didn't feel rushed and didn't have to wait for our food which was really delicious. Not our first visit and definitely won't be out last!

The staff were very wecolming and looked after us extremely well. The food was excellent and served attractively and an improvement on the usual chain Italian restaurants. I would not hesitate do go there again.

The server continually topped up wine glasses without asking. Consequently , some of the party had wine poured into their glasses that was unwanted; others who wanted more found the bottle had been emptied

We had to wait for quite a long time for our meal, but the food was lovely and fresh, and they cooked a meal that wasn't on the menu to accommodate my friend

We had a table for 3 right next to a large hen party of 15+ people, which meant the atmosphere was quite loud and raucous, before the party arrived it had been very quiet (almost too quiet with no music or anything).. we would have preferred a table downstairs in the main part of the restaurant. The food was okay, the pizzas looked great and I regretted getting a pasta once I saw them.

Serving staff were brilliant. Steak overdone so sent back (don’t normally bother as it often means eating alone after everyone else has finished). Replacement took ages and was inedible. Shane. Always had a good meal there in the past.

An excellent meal, not hurried along, it was a Wednesday lunch time so not sure if that would make a difference. I will be taking my family along in the near future.

The food was ok when it arrived, however tomatoes were not fresh, and there was a long delay before anything arrived! We had to ask twice where the starter was- which was a sharing platter of bread and olives! The main course was good - but it made the evening run late for a week night!

Good quality food, nice atmosphere. Good choice of food beyond the essential pizzas and pasta dishes. Recommended for an Italian experience rather than that provided by the (perfectly good) Italian chain restaurants.

Brilliant service brilliant food. Wife's birthday bought out our sweet with candles on it and sang Happy Birthday to her. Definitely best Italian restaurant in Horsham

What an amazing place, from the location to the way the resturant was designed. But it comes down to the staff, what lovely warm and funny people. Clearly a family run place but the feeling and warmth they have towards you, you clearly are part of that family for the duration of your stay there. The food quality was outstanding. Everyone in our group were so empresses by the amount of food and the way it was presented and tasted. I’m not a massive fish lover when it comes to food and it was suggested to me that I should try the board special and WOW, what a stunning dish. I have nothing negative to say about this place. Everything was just how I wanted my afternoon to go. Well done a keep up the good work. Amazing. X

A really lovely family run Italian restaurant. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. I will certainly be going back there again.

The restaurant is very attractive, particularly the terrace. The food is good value and the service is friendly. The staff look exotic and make the Sicilian experience very enjoyable.

Great family run business. Pizzas are the best in town. Nice italian feel/atmosphere in this restaurant based in one of the oldest Buildings in Horsham

Excellent food wine & service....although I think adding a gratuity charge for service automatically to the bill .. though it was excellent... a bit cheeky !!...especially as we were a small party (2) We would go again!!

we have been here a few times and it's never a let down, food was lovely as always, try any sea food dish outstanding , even tonight with a limited menu due to oven problems did not affect the night. Service is first class will be back again.

The food was very good indeed however because we had to wait longer for one meal ( we were informed of this) when the 4 meals arrived together, the remaining 3 were lukewarm. One of our party ordered calf liver and it arrived without any accompaniment, because he was not offered any at the time of ordering. He was offered sweet potato fries when his meal arrived but, by the time they were ready, he had finished the rest of the meal!

Pleasant ambiance, efficient and helpful staff, extensive menu. Fresh pasta tasty, escalope not overdone. Vanilla ice cream rich(£4.90) as was lemon sorbet. £20 a head for 2 courses (no alcohol). Would return and recommend

Really nice food and ambience. Restaurant clean and staff welcoming. The Sicilian cuisine was tempting and different from the usual high street Italian restaurants. Awe will return. Lovely to have Carmela locally.

Excellent food and service. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to go back again. We had the calzone and tagliatelle which were both delicious and large portions.

Great food, good service, slow for lunch time but staff were pleasant and affable. Interior is very nice with good decorations and a nice atmosphere.

Second time to this restaurant and was even better this time round. I highly recommend the rabbit ragu, very tasty. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service, my favourite Italian restaurant to date.
