Enjoyable early dinner. Nice food, service was very good and attentive.
The restaurant was very good, as was the food and service. Highly recommended.
The service was perfect. Food excellent. It seems Carluccio’s are breaking out from the basic Italian food they were known for. I hope that this is a step on the right path for the brand
Attentive staff. Some food took a long time to arrive
Clean restaurant and bathroom, good, friendly service and lovely food:-)
Too much chicken in my meal, too little beef in my partner's. Placed at a table that wasn't cleaned - still had someone else's glass of water there. Unused cutlery left on the table for 4 even though only 2 people using the table (waiters not interested). Menu is a lot less interesting than it used to be. Could be worse - so not giving it a lower score - but not good either.
For some reason on the date of our visit the waiting times after the order was taken was incrediably long. The lady waiting on us reduced our bill by way of apology (it wasnt her fault so that was nice) but it wasnt great waiting with starving children. Food was delicious when it arrived.
Enjoyable meal. One negative comment; my wife is allergic to chocolate and all but one of the desert options contained chocolate. Very restrictive
Overall the three of us had an enjoyable pre-theatre visit to Carluccio's. The welcome was friendly, the service attentive but not intrusive, the atmosphere relaxed and informal. We thought that the food and drinks menus were both rather limited, but we each found something to our taste.
Staff were very helpful and found a suitable spot for us to store my partner’s mobility scooter near our table. We were off to the Corn Exchange for a concert so we had a limited amount of time and just had a main and dessert. They offer a 2 or 3 course set menu which offers better value. Service was good and the food was very nice. Would definitely recommend and will visit again when we are next in Cambridge.
I usually love Carluccio's but this time the food was really disappointing. I had the pasta with beef ragu and there was barely any ragu with the pasta. And it was luke warm. The 2 servers were great but run off their feet trying to serve everyone.
Waiting staff working hard but short on numbers made service a bit slow.
We had the most attentive service and great food .
Really friendly staff who recognise you as a returning customer. New menu which now includes great pizza. Efficient service and tasty food.
Very nice staff who held our table as we were running late. Lovely food, good service and nice atmosphere. Not cheap, but nowhere decent is these days.
Enjoyable. Worth a return back to Cambridge for another meal
Food was delicious, but more importantly, staff were very friendly and helpful!
A bit slow even though we said we had theater tickets.
It was fine and good to see more people, dining than when I came before. The green salad was delicious the lasagne very ordinary as was the risotto.
Food came very quickly and was very good service was excellent
Overall, it was good. HOWEVER, I ordered bread and olives for the table before we'd even ordered drinks or any other food, so we could nibble while we read the menus, decided, waited for our meals etc.. We waited and waited, ordered meals and drinks.... And they finally brought the bread and olives about 30 seconds before our meals. The waitress was literally handing round side plates for the bread when our mains arrived. Hopeless. In the event that we visit again, I won't bother ordering bread or olives.
good experience enjoyed taking my grand daughter out to lunch
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit again. Been eating there for many years ! Staff & management were excellent as usual - thank you .
Staff were friendly and helpful, but food not good and seemed rather disorganised. Our granddaughter was with us and the ladies sang her happy birthday, which was very sweet. Shame the food wasn't up to scratch bearing in mind the high prices
Good food and experience, pleased with service provided and would go back
We ordered the main platter for two. It came with very little food on. 1 small piece of meat each, 1 prawn, mostly rocket. Not much else. VERY disappointed and not at all like it usually is. Would seriously consider if we'd like to dine there again. Waitress offered free ice cream to my mum at the end. She was lovely but still, the meal was practically non existent and not value for money!
I would not recommend this restaurant. It does not offer good value for money. Food is poor quality.
A good lunch but marred by the very loud music, even though we had asked in advance for a quiet table. It spoils the occasion and with a pretty full restaurant I don’t think it is necessary.
I came to your restaurant today with three friends and it was a very relaxing experience. I’m gluten free and was well looked after. Thank you to your lovely staff. Liz johnson x
A great pre theatre lunch. Good value and very good service. Thank you.
Good service and great food. Always a pleasure to eat at Carluccio's
Obviously excellent location being so central. Menu is great and the food we ordered was delicious. The service unfortunately was not good. We were left minutes to be shown to a table. The waitress forgot what I’d ordered even though she’d written it down. Coffees came, no spoons. Waiting for the bill took forever and even when I went up to hasten the process along waitress was more interested in tapping items in on her screen than seeing to my payment. Poor experience on the service side but food, location all good
How can a city restaurant run out of pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc a Friday evening! Opted for a house red only to find we had been charged for the Sauvignon Blanc on the bill and we missed it!
We had booked a table, so it was easy to walk in and have a table ready. They were short staff, it took ages to get someone to come take our order. The GF menu needs work one person in our party is GF and they didn't feel like there were enough choices compared to other places. It took ages for someone to clear our plates, ask for dessert or even bring us the bill. WE have to asked 4 different people for our bill. Then card machine was not working. Overall not great service.
We went for a first date with another couple the service was very poor we waited ages for someone to come and ask us what we would like the mains was no very nice hardly any source on my lasagna and the pudding was still frozen in the middle so they took it back and came back but it was still frozen so we left it. We paid £180 for a dinner that was not brilliant
I have been here many times and this was the worst visit. We were going to the theatre so our time was limited and to be fair they brought us our food very quickly after we ordered. Unfortunately my food was luke warm and my friend’s burger was cold but because we were in a hurry we didn’t have time to send the food back. Then at the end of the meal they brought us someone else’s bill. They did give us a discount because the food was cold but I would rather have had hot food!!
We booked early before the theatre. The waiter was excellent even though he was new to the job and he looked after us very well. The food was delicious especially the soup and focaccia. No complaints and well done Alfie.
