We picked this restaurant from the list of indian restaurants in York based on reviews and no other reason, as had no other guide. What a decision that was! Food quality was fabulous and full of flavour and it arrived quickly considering how busy the restaurant was for a tuesday evening. The four of us dining also remarked about how lovely the staff/ service was. Really stood out against what we are use to compared to our local restaurant, many miles from York. Will definitely be going back to Bombay spice and York at the first opportunity!

Restaurant was busier than usual and than we expected so there was a bit more atmosphere than a usual midweek visit. Food was good, beer was cold. Nice.

A very good evening with good friends and a great meal in a really good atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service was first class. The place lived up to its reputation and we all enjoyed our visit.

Owner treat staff terrible, which made the service poor they seemed on edge, Food wasn’t great either poor end to a great day in York, will not be back there not a patch on Mumbai which was fully booked now I know why 😩

A fantastic meal with recommendation from staff. I asked for a specific heat and it was spot on. We were very well looked after. It was very popular and full at 7.45pm so really glad we booked 👍👏

Average food poor service no communication with the waiter until it was time to pay this was our first and possibly last visit the restaurant was lacking atmosphere and a redecoration very tatty dirty floor and inadequate toilet facilities

Not all that impressed. Very slow service and although the meals tasted ok the portions were quite small.

Started off waiting for our table for 2 at the door with no waiting area. Given the only table in the 'Shop Window' next to the ever opening and closing door where it was constantly cold. Food was okay and average. Bit disappointing.
