Interesting nicely cooked food. Service still a little slow but it has improved.
This restaurant used to be brilliant, but the fact it was nearly empty on a Saturday night shows standards have dropped. We waited a LONG time for our starters (simple food that should have taken minutes to prepare, especially as there was no-one else in when we arrived!). Food was pleasant enough, but very average. Meat on the main was too tough to eat - to be fair they did offer to make another one, but as we had been there an hour and a half at this point, we decided to just finish and leave. One plus point, the waitress was very friendly. But we left very disappointed and don't plan to return.
Great food and service. Very friendly and really good set menu deal.
Food was gorgeous, plus the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere.
It was quiet when we visited but we found the food was excellent and have been telling friends to definitely book.
Five of us Went for lunch. Food took a bit of time to arrive but was freshly cooked and tasty. Pudding was also great as was the coffee. A soft drink was included with the lunchtime specials. Very reasonable. Would come again if we were locals.
We really enjoyed the food . The chef catered to our special dietary needs really well. We each took a starter and a lunchtime special and two green teas. A real treat!
The food was delicious, but we had to wait for 2 hours for it!!! We had a glass of wine and some bread while waiting, but the wait was ridiculous. Surely somethings not right with the prep work. We were just told by the waitress the lamb and duck had to be cooked from scratch. A customer cant make an order and sit for 2 hours waiting for food though!!! As a business they will struggle if they carry on like that because theres too much competition. Unfortunately we wont go back.
Lovely little restaurant. Waitress attentive and polite. The only thing that let us down was the steak was a bit chewy but I had the duck which was delicious and our starters were really nice too
Lovely little gem in Selly Oak. Fabulous food and friendly atmosphere. The lady serving was very attentative to our needs. Will be back for sure :)
Despite our reservation being made through Zomato it had not been confirmed to the restaurant,,however, they managed to seat all 6 of us without delay. The food and drinks were excellent and although the menu is limited no one was unhappy about their choices. The staff were very pleasant and made us feel welcome.
Lovely food, would have been top marks but restaurant very very hot and only one server, so lengthy wait for drinks and food. But server very polite and food delicious.
Brilliant little independent restaurant with lunch time value of meals £4-£5. Generous portions and varied choice. I will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely lunch
This lovely restaurant is great value for money, serving good food at sensible prices. It's a haven in a location which from external appearances doesn't match it's quality.
Amazing experience! Small and quiet dinning room. wonderful favours, nice portions and wine list. Service was top notch - friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning :)
Food was fantastic, great wine selection and mocktails. Service was a little slow but delightful hostess. Would definitely recommend the place and we will be going again.
Food is absolutely sublime. My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed the steak stating it was probably the best she had and my sea bass was pristine. Will definitely return. Point knocked off for average cocktails.
Tried this restaurant on food reviews and was not disappointed. Great menu selection with tasty ingredients and very friendly, attentive service
we went to Bohemia for my wife's birthday ,first it was a table for 3 then it went to a table for 11 people .all the staff were really helpful and did everything they could to help especially Doris .food was fantastic service very very good, a great night out ,can't wait to go back . Can not believe this great restaurant is hidden away on Oak tree lane
What a great restaurant find, the food was delicious and service friendly! Reasonably priced too but when selecting from the fixed course menu, incredible value.
Our first visit and we very much enjoyed it. Really good service. We both had the seabass and it was delicious and a very generous portion. We will definetly be going back.
What an excelle.t find !! Great quality reason ably priced , attentive but not intrusive service . We chose steak & veal mains both cooked to perfection .This was our first visit but it definitely won't be our last . Cannot recommend highly enough
Great food and great service. Small improvement suggestions; bigger and better quality wine glasses and better cutlery. Also lighting could be improved. All in all a lovely restaurant which is very underrated.
food was fantastic as was the service and the wine. The art gallery around the wall was interesting however the restaurant was very cold (so was the temperature outside)
Not the same since change of management. Unfortunately we won't be returning. Lacks ambience....place half empty on a Saturday evening. No candles on tables. Food was ok but not to the same standard.
Nice starters and mains, the duck breast mains were cooked very nicely with the fat rendered and the meat still moist and tender. Service was excellent. Very reasonably priced and good value for money.
appalling service not down to waitress but lack of staff in kitchen - arrived 7.00 p.m. did not leave until 10.00 p.m - 3 hours for two courses not satisfactory
Prior to going I emailed the restaurant for advice about parking but got no reply. I think this information could be placed on their website. When we arrived we were welcomed warmly and throughout the evening the service was excellent. Food was delicious and we returned empty plates. I was surprised to be told there was no soda water when I asked for a Spritzer but we improvised with tonic. My companions were all delighted with the meal and the whole experience.
We ate here once before and thge food is still as great .The service is friendly and efficient .All the courses (we had three )were beautifully presented and delicious .It was also very good value for money .We shall be back !
what a great place, lovely atmosphere, great service and fantastic food. We had the 2 courses for £17.00 and it was excellent value, very good quality ingredients presented in an attractive manner. Some interesting desserts too. This is a eatery working hard to serve quality food in a nice setting, good luck to them. We would highly recommend.
Fantastic food and lovely friendly service! This is a great little restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and always a good selection on the menu. Good value too.
The food was good but it took far too long to be prepared . We did not have starters and had to wait one hour twenty minutes for our meal.
Bohemia is one of my favourite restaurants. Great venue with a good atmosphere and ambiance. Varied and good menu choices. Very good service. Excellent food. Reasonable prices.
This is a small restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. We received a very friendly greetng. Food was very tasty. We will certainly go again and recommend to friends.
We booked for lunch midweek and were pleasantly surprised at the standard of food and service. Portions were large and very well presented. All our party were extremely pleased with the visit, food was excellent, service very attentive. Highly recommend!
Absolutely terrible!! Me and my wife both ordered steaks for our main, mine was totally overlooked in fact burnt and my wife's was inedible as it was tough and full of gristle we had both ordered medium rare.
The welcome and service from the waitress was great. But unfortunately throughout our 3-course meal we could hear the chef repeatedly swearing from the kitchen, and also saying "Im fed up of this F****ng place" which resulted in an uncomfortable dining experience. My Wife ordered a Medium steak, and although the outer part was Medium the middle was rare. I suggested that she ask for it to be flash fried, but she replied that she did not want to upset the Chef further; which is not how one should feel when eating out!
The food was lovely and the restaurant was very nice clean tidy and the waitress was really nice just very strange we booked a table for seven and the restaurant wasn't opening
Lovely restaurant, not what you would expect in the middle of Selly Oak! A hidden gem serving great food, well worth a visit. Menu changes monthly.
Absolutely fabulous as usual- this is a great venue with lively staff and absolutely delicious food- yes it's a little more pricey than greased spoon fare but you can properly taste the difference and is well worth it imo
Three of us visited the restaurant last week. The food was absolutely fantastic . the service very good and it was excellent value. Will be going again as soon as possible!
Friends and I were celebrating my birthday and we did enjoy the evening. The service , decor and menu was varied and tasty. One of our friends was unable to find the restaurant even though almost outside. We suggest a more imposing door as the present one is not eye catching. I enjoyed the mushroom soup and sticky toffee pudding. The sweet potato which had been found on the menu to accompany the lamb dish was replaced by normal mash so we were a little disappointed.
new owners so I guess they are finding there feet, starters where limited, I struggled and went for the bruschetta on toasted bread partner had goats cheese, for what was £6.50 I got 2 small pieces of toasted bread topped with bruschetta no side salad very disappointing, partners said her goats cheese was nice, 3 goat cheese balls in bread crumbs with a little rocket, main we had sea bass with capers sauce, mash and vegetables, sauce was very scarce, but they did bring more when asked, some on the root vegetables were under cooked, over all the main wasn't to bad. deserts not much to say very disappointed with them. service was good the young lady who worked there before was there and was helpful and also took our views on board. over all not a patch on what it used to be like, im afraid we wont be going again .
Delicious food, Purity ales, and quick and efficient service. Quite quiet at lunchtime in midweek, but a nice atmosphere because the venue is only small, with soft background music. Good value for money with a fixed-price menu for 2 or 3 courses. There is a programme of events some evenings such as live music or wine-tastings.
Lack of vegetarian options for the main meal and no meat starters! A revised menu would be welcome along with more front of house attention.
First time here after new owners have taken over. Still a reasonable meal for the price. Quality of the meat was good but missed the little finishes that Russ used to put for presentation. Hope they will continue to build on a good start.
Very nice restaurant much better than when we went a few years ago. Lovely tapas good dinks and atmosphere so would go again quite soon.
First two courses were excellent. Dessert (lemon cheesecake) was a disappointment - not lemony, and chocolate biscuit base stuck to the bottom of the glass. Staff very friendly and helpful as usual.
Restaurant has just changed hands and the initial signs are not good. Service is ponderous and don't really know what's going on as yet. Basically we didn't eat in the end as the fish was quoted as Red snapper or "fish of the day" . We asked and on checking were told the red snapper was off but there was sea bass which my wife ordered. 10 minutes later we were told no sea bass and no fish whatsoever, so we said cancel the order and paid for our drinks. Real shame as this wasp doc our favourite local restaurants.
Excellent food and service. It's great to have such a good restaurant in Selly Oak and I was delighted that it seemed fully booked on the night we went.
