A small cozy French restaurant- the food was well constructed and the service was excellent. It was quite noisy in there and the delivery of the food between courses was relaxed but that suited us as we were catching up with friends.
The food and service were excellent. I loved the cosy atmosphere.
Perfect service, food and ambiance, will definitely be going back
We love dining in Bistro Chez Yves. The food is amazing, the service is amazing, the wine is amazing. And they are dog friendly. Very nice restaurant in our area.
Nice restaurant in Penge. The atmosphere really looks like a place in Paris or similar. We tried it already years ago and we found it used to be better in terms of value for money. A bit too pricey now, but still pretty good
Great french Rustique cooking Ie meat and potatoes done fancy Tres bien
Friendly and welcoming, good meal nicely cooked and presented, cosy venue not too big or too noisy.
Excellent traditional and authentic French food. Mussells in Roquefort were a delight.
Food and service for our family birthday celebration was excellent.
Fabulous food as always and lovely cosy feel on a Saturday evening. Highly recommend
We love this friendly, family run restaurant. The atmosphere and food are authentically French with great, traditional flavours.
Great ambience and helpful staff. Food is just great. Very reasonable price and we enjoyed the dinner a lot.
Great french food, atmosphere and price. Highly recommend a visit
Wonderful French food, super cute French bistro and amazing service. I highly recommend that restaurant and I am French, I can tell you the menu, food and everything is very authentic and great quality. Could not recommend more for a dinner with friends or romantic
This was our first visit to Bistro Chez Yves and we were extremely impressed. The authentic French food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
The food at Chez Yves is first class and feels very French, in the most positive way. Food arrives when it is ready, (always cooked to order) but drinks are sometimes a little slower. There is just one server. Don't ask for vodka, because they don't/won't stock it. Goodness knows what that is about. Chez Lucie, their restaurant in Gypsy Hill is the same. (Three types of Pastis, though...) These are minor gripes; the place is fantastic, the server is charming and the food is great value, especially if you share some dishes. David
Really great food if only I didn’t have to share pud with my husband! waitress was friendly would return it was nice 😊
It was really lovely, excellent food as always, cordial atmosphere and very authentic french restaurant experience
You could almost be in France. Classic bistro vibes and a small but excellent menu. I always love eating here. Profiteroles are fantastic - not enough places make them with ice cream like they do at Chez Yves.
Had a wonderful meal the charming waitress was very busy but served us with a smile. We are so lucky to have this restaurant!! I wish them continued success !!
Lovely food and great service. What more can you ask for.
Great French classic bistro menu cooked very well and served with a short but well chosen wine list. Can’t recommend it enough.
Absolutely amazing food the beef Bourginon was sooo delicious. Would recommend this place and will go again soon
Had another lovely time at Chez Yves and really great value considering the quality of the food and wine
Lovely little restaurant! A credit to Penge! yyy yyyy yyy
Excellent authentic French restaurant. A quality menu, it’s not a huge menu but you won’t get that in a small French restaurant. I had the Duck gizzard salad which I first had twenty years ago in the South of France (perigord) which was spot on. Other half had the pork terrine which is essentially a terrine of crack, you would kill people to get to this. Main course I have the cassoulet (pork sausage and duck) bevel though it’s August but I’m a heathen my wife had the Taraiflette (cheese, potatoes, other stuff). We had one of two Roses. We will be back, I’d be tempted to order multiple starters and probably the skate. If you’re on the plot go, deffo worth a punt.
This a great local french bistro for a good night out with close friends, good food, with good wine and service.
Great food and service and atmosphere will definitely visit again
Lovely food - duck and crepes, and idling jazz music with occasional accordion! Wonderful
Superb French food and excellent service. 👌 Thanks for a great night out!
Good food, nice service. Quite hot inside would benefit from some air con.
The menu was fairly short, but with good choice of starters, mains and sweets. All three of us enjoyed everything we ordered. Short wine list which complemented the food. Service pleasant & efficient.
Charming welcoming place, attentive friendly staff, great food beautifully presented.
Lovely genuine French bistro food and a cafe / bistro atmosphere.
Good solid French brasserie fayre, no frills lots of flavour.
Really lovely experience. Such delicious food. Really relaxed and cosy. Lovely staff. Will be returning!
We had the best night! Food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. Excellent value for high quality, beautifully cooked food and the perfect place for a good catch up over dinner and wine.
Service was lovely, even when they made a slight mistake!
Great authentic French food , good ambience and lovely service
Lovely intimate French restaurant. Great service and amazing food. Prices for food and wine are reasonable
Small but intimate setting, very friendly service, and amazing food. The escargot and goats cheese salad were particularly good. Everyone else seemed to be having the mussels (which we weren’t planning to order anyway) but the food and wine were lovely and good value for money.
My wife heard of Chez Yves on "Next Door", so we tried it yesterday early evening (6pm, Saturday 25th May) It was empty at 5.55pm and half full half an hour later. The (only) server was very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and many of the starters (and two main courses) were entirely suitable for 3 to share. (Excellent bread, too...) We had to leave at 7.40 for another engagement so no dessert or coffee, but easily enough time to eat in relaxed style in this chic, no-frills room. It was bustling when we left, with conversations and the entirely unobtrusive background music combining to give a perfect ambience. Thank you, Chez Yves, we'll be back. David
