Booking a table and the service received were very good. The pub is a little tired and could do with a refresh. Staff are helpful and attentive. Overall cost of the visit was I believe a little on the high side. A thought borne out by our friends who were visiting from Essex.

Great evening with friends, the service was attentive but not overbearing. The food was very good and I particularly liked the timing between courses i.e. not rushed. House wine was very pleasant too.

We found the menu was very limited, there was no fish available apart from Fish and Chips. Whilst the food was cooked nicely we were very disappointed there were no specials in addition to the normal menu.

We’d booked a table however on arrival we were given a choice of tables to sit at which was nice . Nice variety of foods on the menu

Food was tasty but expensive for what it was. Disappointed no Halibut even though on the men. Used to be regular regulars and as husbands birthday we thought we would we would try eating there again. He asked for Halibut but not available. No specials on albeit Website advertises them. Used to be our favourite place for dinner - not so much now!

Overall very pleasant but we were a bit starved of menu information

Really nice evening, the food was amazing, very well presented and very tasty. The service as usual was spot on, lots of help with choosing what to have. Good selection.

Food was good, service was fantastic. Food would have been better if my plaice had not been “mushy” was it cooked from frozen I wonder

Shared the baked Camembert. They helpfully cooked it without the garlic. The plaice was lovely and service very good.

We went for Saturday lunch which was very nice. Our booking was for 12.15 and therefore the restaurant was empty when we arrived. As usual we were seated a table for 2 which was fine but as we left about 75 min later I noticed there was hardly anyone else there. Knowing it was going to be quiet maybe we should of had a larger table?

The burger was not brilliant and did not have all the fillings it was advertised to have. The rest of the food was nice.

Had great service from the minute we walked in only waited 10 minutes for our table had drinks at the bar, bar staff were very good. Food was fab as per normal and the waiting staff very good too. Hadn't been here for a while but will definitely be going back soon

The food is just amazing. The wine I had, the Malbec, was delicious. Worth every penny and the bird in hand is my new favourite place to go and unwind after a long day. !

Compliments to the chef. We had the scallops followed by the chateaubriand which were both cooked to perfection. Loved those chips too. Shame we had no room for dessert but definitely recommend. Thank you

Food lovely, service ok although staff were not that chatty and said nothing when we paid the bill and left even though we thanked them. Atmosphere - the tables were VERY crammed in and so close together that if you wanted to leave the table other guests on another table would have to move from their seats to allow you out. It made for a very uncomfortable experience when one of our party suffers from anxiety. Why so many tables .. it was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was half full ?

Felt let down by both the food and service on what was a Father’s Day treat. I booked a table in the bar, but got the stuck in the corner in the snug. Drinks took ages, to the point I had to go ask for them and somebody to take our order. We had roast dinners, while the meat was good potatoes were poor and a token amount of veg, except some very gooey cauliflower cheese. Have been a regular visitor for many hands and seen lots of changes of management, hope standards aren’t slipping. Will be reluctant to go back for Sunday roast.

Gravy was very Watery coke did not taste nice steak was over cooked and was rushed out of restaurant for another booking
