We were near to a window and a door - both closed but left room uncomfortably COLD. Service good . We were four - some dishes very nice, some less so. AMBIENCE very good. All main courses served in soup bowls - enemies fish & chips! …We would go again..

We had a lovely meal sitting by the welcoming log fire. Our waiter was excellent with an amazing memory! He was attentive and polite. A great way to celebrate a family member's birthday.

Food and service were absolutely amazing, on the face of things you can think it's quite pricey.... but once you get the food.....worth the money!!

We ate early so the restaurant was quiet. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

The food was lovely and it was a nice varied and unusual menu. It’s nice to have a choice of desserts that are not just the standard sticky toffee pudding and brownie and ice cream. The tiramisu cheesecake was delicious. Service was also great thanks

Brilliant atmosphere lovely surroundings. Food delicious beautifully cooked and presented. So pleased it’s under private management. The Bird in Hand has varied through the years but we are both thrilled it’s now in safe hands

It was the first time we had been back to here for many years, the food was very good and both of us enjoyed it. We were placed in the snug, which is very nice but was very warm (cant complain really as it I would rather be warm than cold!!) Unfortunately there were some people in there that were very loud and what they were talking about was very uncomfortable to listen too. This no fault of the pub but took the gloss off of our time there

Had to wait 20 mins before they even took our order. The waitress did come over once to say sorry about the wait and went to check on our meal's progress. Wouldn't stop us gong there again just not at that time!

Service very slow, no communication from team to explain the wait. My wife’s beef was of poor quality ended up getting a refund on her meal. Wasn’t asked how our meal was when we asked for the bill. Wasn’t asked about any allergens, wasn’t asked if we required any sauces with our main course

The food was amazing, the staff was lovely but I highly recommend using a note book because a few things we didn’t receive only when my husband asked

Roast is quite expensive, it was lovely but the service is very slow to the point you have to get up and ask for something.

I appreciate it was Father's day (but I have experienced the restaurant busier on other occasions) but the service was terribly slow - we didn't receive food for 1 hr and 15min after our table time (tough when you have 2 young children) . Plates weren't cleared and we had to prompt them to take, and then request dessert ourselves. Of which most dishes weren't available. Desserts (including children's icecream!) then took another 25mins to arrive (and we had to chase). Can understand staff shortages - but the staff they had were not attentative in the slightest - such a disappointing experience compared to prior visits

Very nice food with very good service at a price that reflects the quality of the establishment and the service.

We went for the Sunday roast. The meat was very dry and over done, as were the vegetables - everything was tough, and felt like they'd been either over cooked or been kept warm somewhere. Not the usually quality of food we get at the Bird in Hand unfortunately.

Perfect. Absolutely delicious breakfast. Fabulous coffee. Brilliant service. Enough said.

Very nice. Staff were great. Carrots needed cooking longer but otherwise everything was perfect.

The only downside was they had no steak. Every thing else was really nice.

I was extremely happy that I chose The Bird in Hand for a special birthday lunch for my friend. We both enjoyed the food immensely and the help and service we received was exceptional by all the staff. Will definitely be returning.
