Staff were social distancing and wear masks. Tables were far enough apart, i like the little bottle of hand sanitiser ...no i didn't drink it..lol food was amazing...i had the pork belly which was melt in your mouth ...hubby had pie its a man's thing. Overall it was really good.

Given the restrictions in place we felt that the staff performed extremely well both the food and service were excellent. well done the Bird in Hand.

Good first time out for a meal. Bird in Hand has worked hard to get things just right even down to a personal hand sanitizer bottle on the table and disposable/take away menus. We were impressed and would not hesitate to visit again.

We throughly enjoyed our visit today for lunch. Staff were very attentive and made sure we were safe and understood the guidelines. Food was very nice. We have no complaints and are planning another visit in the future. Well done.

Brilliant. Staff were amazing regarding covid restrictions. Food was very tasty. Lots of hand sanitiser available. Would have liked a different vegetarian option but what I had was tasty!

It was a completely pleasant experience for our anniversary lunch.

Unfortunately Although we had a lovely evening out the restaurant was not Quite ready for customers, they had no gluten free options apart from the meat dish they offered and it was my husbands birthday and they had run out of steak which was his preferred option on the night so had only two other options to chose! We do understand they had to scale down in order to be efficient but it wasn’t our best experience at The Bird in Hand this time!

Generally we enjoyed being out for a meal, but this was the first day after lockdown so there were a few hiccups due to new procedures. We were early in the evening so it was very quiet and we were in the snug so even quieter! Other than that we loved being welcomed back to our local after over 3 months (especially the complimentary glass of bucks fizz) and are hoping that we will soon be able to pop in for a drink in the garde on a more regular basis.

Day 2 out of lockdown and booked for a Birthday meal. Couldn’t have asked for better service, food quality, and environment. Faultless. Thank you and well done!

We were greeted and treated by staff very well, very clean, tidy and well maintained. Food tasted nice however very over priced. Would not recommend the gnocchi at £14.00 you receive six pieces the size of a penny on a huge plate no salad or sizes with it totally appalling. We were given complementary fries when we complained and the manager is going to review which is great for other diners but not for us. Only having a bowl of fries for a main meal Is not good !! Vegetarian options are very limited. Not sure if I’d be rushing back anytime soon if I’m honest.

Very slow and long waiting in repeat orders for drinks or some orders not happened at all. We understand it was the first day opening after pandemic with the new regulation in place. The manager and the lady who had our table apologized for the delay which we appreciated. I hope the service will improve overtime when the new rules will be more established for the pubs and restaurant. The staff otherwise, was very nice and the food was very good.

Very strange... Having to get up and collect meals and drinks and very clinical. Meal prices seem to have increased

I changed my booking from the restaurant to the bar area, I was disappointed the fire wasn’t light & I wish the Crab cakes had tasted of crab.

Roast potato’s not up to your normal standard today. The fish was beautiful, everything else was great for us thank you regards Jill & Ray

We really enjoyed it but it was fairly quiet, which is nice in one way but not others. Think this was due to the current climate with Coronavirus as usually much busier. Service excellent and food very good.

Offered complimentary bread whilst awaiting main course,this however did not materialise. As lunch restuarant area quiet so noise not an issue, have been in for dinner and is nosier. Recommend liver, lovely comfort food.

Food and service excellent very nice gentleman who served us

Disappointing. Second visit in the past 6 weeks for a meal with friends. Felt the quality of food had gone down. First visit I had the pork belly - this was very fatty, not crispy crackling. The second visit 3 of us had the steak and ale pie, which looked like one of those pukka pies you get from a fish and chip shop but a lot cheaper!! My other friend had the fish and chips, which she has had before on previous visit saying how good it was last time. How disappointing to see the portion size was an insult for the price. In previous visits have always had the mini dessert with coffee - now this has been taken off the menu. On a positive note, the staff were very efficient and friendly and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for.

A most enjoyable lunch with colleagues. Our waitress, Victoria was exceptional in her levels of attention, service and knowledge of the menus.

Very smokey, showed to table then forgot us. Food cold not a great deal on plate . Overall very disappointing .

Really happy with the service and food but they took full advantage of valentines day, only a few options on the menu and if you went for the beef wellington then it was an extra 5 pounds per person. Overall the price of the meal with the additional 10 pounds was not worth the money and i will not be returning on any other special occasions.

Went for a valentine's night. Extremely limited food selection as there was only a set menu. Food was not great, quite bland. Not what I expect from here.

Great brekkie! However very smoky due to the lit fire although nice to have one going! :)

A very enjoyable meal in a lovely quaint little pub

I have just taken my neighbour out to lunch as a thankyou for looking after my cats. Had a lovely meal but it was very quite so did not have any waiting time for food or noise level problems so all very nice thank you.

The food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. One small negative was that it was busy so the service was not that fast. I think having water on the table without asking would be a good idea then you dont feel like you are waiting a while for a drink from the bar.
