Very disappointing...... I booked for a friend & myself for our Christmas get together, several items on the menu were unavailable, the food was bland, dining area was cold we moved to sit near a radiator which was turned off.... the staff were indifferent and there was no atmosphere.
The best restaurant food I have eaten in a long time. Freshly prepared and so tasty. Good service and reasonably priced menu and wine list .
very good restaurant. choice very good typically English food. Specials board as well. good portions and friendly service. for the main course we both chose the lamb shank and it was great. would recommend a visit.
Basic rooms but clean and warm. Needs a bit of TLC. Staff warm and inviting. Food of high quality and reasonable price. Busy Road! Exterior of hotel badly lets it all down.
This a very homely, comfortable hotel, with very friendly owners who put their clients first with nothing to much for them. Bedrooms are very good with comfortable beds. Food is excellent with a good varied choice of food. All in all I would give a score if 10 out 10.
Lovely people and excellent food. Well happy ! Stayed the night and had a really comfy nights sleep Very quiet in spite of being on a main road.
Was excellent , food was brilliant service was excellent and the lady behind the bar was fabulous to me even though I eat her last pudding xxx
The service was great, the food was good but the choice was poor, the place itself is a reminder of what life was like pre Premier Inn! Bed a bit lumpy, room in need of a paint and freshen up, too many big pipes in the toilet going into oversize holes, small doors, small wardrobes and even smaller TV, and lots of noise from lack of double glazing and nearby road and a wooden staircase somewhere close by above my head that has been built on the cheap. Now we have become used to the uniform good standards of the corporate chains these places need to be as good I am afraid.
We had a lovely meal at the Beansheaf, I could not fault it, the chap who served it was very pleasant not too busy to stand and have a few words with you. The restaurant was lovely, and had a really nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again when I am in the area. I have recommended this restaurant to my friend who goes regularly to Pickering.
