Allotment Bar & Restaurant - Birkdale

Booked through Quandoo and it was really easy to do. Nice greeting on arrival. Waitress very pleasant, happy to give us plenty of time to chat whilst choosing our food. Drinks arrived quickly. Food was lovely , very tasty. Only downside was we weren't asked if we wanted another drink which would have been nice. Overall it was a lovely lunchtime treat.

Food was average. Table was in the middle of busy drinkers.

Nice food and ambience but short staffed ; some of staff seemed a little stressed ! Assistant manager was fabulous. Everyone very inclusive and kind to our Grandaughter who is living with Down’s syndrome. Would go again .

Booked a table for 8:30, got to 9pm and still hadn’t been seated. Told the waiter we had been waiting and were not prepared to wait longer so left

Great atmosphere. Had a small baby with us so we were in the vault which was perfect. Food was good but we had to wait nearly an hour for it.

Poor quality food and drinks which undermines the good atmosphere and the hard work of friendly staff.

Having a live singer in a restaurant made conversation impossible - way too loud. Wrong food came out then a half hour wait for a drinks order at the end of the night made it a really disappointing experience. Won't be returning

Lovely afternoon spent with family, four of us decided to have the roast dinner, a generous portion and very delicious. My four year old grandson picked fish and chips and cleaned his plate. Hubby enjoyed his risotto and son-in-law went for burger and fries. We sat in the vault area which was a novelty. Good choice of desserts, though I could only manage the ice cream. We didn't realise dogs were also allowed so next time we will certainly bring our well behaved family pet as apparently they also have a doggie menu!

Friendly service but a very long wait for food and drinks.

Reserved a table for 6, not ready, then had to wait around 20 mins whilst they set up a table. There was only about 8 customers in the restaurant but they had let parties of two sit on the bigger tables. Very disappointing as we had reserved a table and at it was a sad day for us as it was my mums 1st anniversary since she passed away. I will not be going back. I would like to say the girl serving us was very nice and it wasn't her fault.

Gorgeous Sunday lunch, one of the best that I can remember! The staff are always lovely, this is a great bar.

Food was lovely, music was great. However the service from the staff was poor. We needed to change a chair as it was rocking side to side at the joints and didn’t seem safe but was told there where no more chairs. We ordered drinks and they took on adverage 20 mins to arrive at all... the 3rd set of drinks didn’t arrive at all, but where on the bill so we have to get it removed and when we asked for the bill we waited a further 30 mins, no bill arrived so we had to go downstairs and chase it again... service was very poor.

We had a great evening at The Allotment. Food and service were very good. Staff pleasant and accommodating.

Great location and theme. Really liked the look of the place and the food was tasty. I did at times feel like we were left too long waiting for service but it was a Saturday night and it didn't ruin our experience as we had more time to catch up with old friends.

I ordered the cheese pancetta burger with fries came with big chips they were not cooked through the waitress swapped these but I’d nearly finished the burger The plastic from the cheese had been left on and was in the burger not a good meal been few times before and no issues till this Not

Service was rubbish, so slow and had to ask 3 times before we got anything: water, the bill, etc... food was alright.
