Very pleasant afternoon would definitely recommend - great food and very relaxing atmosphere
Great little restaurant with fantastic food and excellent front of house staff
All three courses excellent for my friend and two excellent for me
Fantastic food, great unobtrusive service and all round excellent dining experience.
Food was lovely not great service and the rearranging of the tables when we were still sitting was annoying scraping of the floor.
Food delicious! Only marked down as we were there for a few hours and hard wicker seats were not comfy for that long but otherwise definitely recommend!
Really disappointed with the charges for corgage. Especially when they charged a further £1 for fizz
The food and service were good! Highly recommend the whisky flights.
The food was delicious and we will definitely be back. Limited choose for friend who is both lactose and gluten intolerant so a few more options for them would be good
Excellent - great food, service and ambience, all very reasonably priced.
Food was amazing and staff were lovely, will definitely return. PERFECT
Very friendly reception and delicious food in a cosy restaurant
The service was a little too fast so we had to tell them to give us more time when the desert menu came. Apart from that the staff was very nice and the food delicious. A little pricey thought!
Food was nice apart from desserts which had to be sent back by 3 of our party. Staff dealt with this well and removed the cost from our bill. Noise levels were really high and hard to hear what someone at the opposite side of the table was saying to you
Excellent food and service from the staff - really friendly and helpful
Good atmosphere. Attentive staff and tasty food. Recommend a visit
Great local pub and excellent food downstairs from the pub!
Nice evening, lovely friendly staff. Food was tasty but not unusual or exceptional. Overall good value for money and would return.
Been many times and never disappointed, beautiful meal and lovely staff. Our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh.
The waitress was unable to give any suggestions about the choice of wine, which I believe is not good enough. The food, however, was excellent.
We have used this restaurant for an annual get-together for 5 years and are never disappointed. Staff are friendly and efficient and all the food was well cooked and flavoursome. We were late for our booking and that posed no problem. The upstairs bar has a terrific range of beers and is great for a drink before and after.
Great food, presented nicely, and great friendly service in a bustling atmosphere. We all had the haggis neeps and tatties- and this was delicious. Thank you!
Had a great time. Food was excellent, good portions. The service was just as excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely return here.
Lovely restaurant, we were in a alcove which felt a little cut off from the main restaurant and atmosphere though. Food was lovely but could've done with more flavour (potted beef brisket and grilled coley fillet). The staff were really nice. Probably wouldn't go back to the restaurant but the bar upstairs is great!
We had afternoon lunch. Great atmosphere, menu choices, service and value for money. We brought our own wine which is a good option to have. Would recommmend.
loved it, great food and atmosphere. would definitely like to go again
Food was ok, nothing special. Place was more or less empty. Had to ask for the bread and butter and only got it after the starter. Wine was just put on the table without pooring it in. Did not had the feeling to be treated like welcomed guests.
It was nice. Good food, quiet and good for chatting and catching up with friends during lunch. Good value lunch deal, pudding was too large and simple.
Never disappointed at Room in The West End. Food is always top class and service efficient and friendly. Still miss the bowl of veg with set lunch though!
The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable for such good quality food. compliments to the chef. We will be back again soon.
As always, fantastic food, great service, great ambiance, and quiet enough to hear what your table guests are saying!
Friendly welcome, excellent meal at this restaurant. We were able to bring our own wine and pay corkage. Good choice of menu, food was delicious. Would definitely recommend it.
Nice lunch if a bit restricted in choice. Fair price for the centre of town during festival time. Service was very good considering there was seven us eating.
Lovely atmosphere and very good service. My Hake was a bit drybut my Husband’s steak was delicious! Friend’s chicken was lovely! But the desserts were very sweet!
Good place for lunch. Really tasty food, pleasant staff, nice relaxed atmosphere. Impressive choice of whiskies. There are other options in addition to 4 mains on set menu.
Excellent food following local traditions with local ingredients and a creative edge at reasonable prices. Friendly, unobtrusive service. Perfectly located away from the main tourist drags.
Fabulous food. Great Beer. Brilliant atmosphere. Great local Scottish food with a twist. A not to be missed place when in Edinburgh. If you want to keep the cost down it's BYOB too
we experienced very good service and food. We were the only ones there, so a bit quiet. With the set weekend menu the price was very reasonable.
Food and service was fantastic. I've been there twice now and both times have been impressed with the quality of food for the price. Would definitely recommend
Great venue, food excellent and great service . Thoroughly recommend Room in the West End for a cosy friendly get together. Good value for money with their lunchtime menu
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. The food was of a high quality and very tasty. The service was excellent and the very friendly staff were more than happy for us to sit and chat after our meal. Would recommend.
Staff were attentive and food arrived quickly but food was pretty tasteless. Corkage was expensive compared to other BYOB restaurants. Overall not good value for money.
Food was lovely as usual and friendly staff always happy to help. Would highly recommend and love the fact it’s a BYOB as hardly anywhere allows you to take your own wine at weekends! Love this place, hidden gem!
Great venue, lovely welcoming staff. Main course wonderful, disappointing pudding. But rescued by the offer of Dainty Decadence Frozen Dirty Banana - gotta try it!
Lovely food, nice staff and in a lovely part of town. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere too - no-one's rushing you out the door. A good place for a lovely lunch.
Very impressed I am a vegetarian and I didn’t like some of the things on the menu but the chef was happy to cater to my tastes. Good platefuls and fresh tasting
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were fabulous . They really made our 9 year old feel welcome. We really enjoyed the whiskey that was recommended. It was especially great to meet the man who painted the Mural.
This restaurant is very well located in the West End and offers a really accessible menu that everyone will like. We enjoyed lovely dishes such as haggis, neeps and fatties, Cullen skink, vegetable Wellington and pan-fried fish. The menu offers something for everyone and picky eaters would do just fine here. Bring a jumper as the restaurant is quite cool.
Great service, never rushed. Food was delicious. Would definitely recommend. The bar upstairs is great too. An all round good bar/restaurant for everything from a girls lunch to a rugby weekend.
Great friendly and efficient service as always. The food is of a very high standard and very reasonably priced. Love this restaurant and the fact that it's a BYOB!
