Can't fault the place- good service, nice atmosphere and great food! There were 4 of us and we each had 3 courses- all delicious! I recommend the butternut squash soup and bean cassoulet (I'm vegetarian ). We will be going back!
Food good but clearly the restaurant is understaffed because we were ignored for long periods and had to wait ages for someone to come and take our dessert order
We had a very good meal here, well cooked and interesting food for a very reasonable price. A good choice of drinks, including wine by the glass and several Scottish gins. We arrived early on a Thursday evening (about 6.15) and were the only diners throughout our meal. When we asked we were told that Thursday is a 'hit and miss' day for custom. So if you like more people around you when you eat perhaps another night would be better. However the quiet atmosphere suited us. Overall a very positive experience
A great restaurant ,delicious food and good value for money, BYOB option is also nice. We will be back very soon My wife had the steak for main and I had duck ,cooked to perfection
Fantastic food and lovely atmosphere as always. The menu choices are fantastic and extremely well priced at £26 for three courses. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended
We were a group of eight and the table was well set and the welcome by the manager and staff was faultless! Add the excellent food and service which made a very nice dining experience. The Room in Leith is one of my favourite restaurants!
We had a nice family meal today. The choices were good, the mussels were enjoyed by my son and the meat platter was enjoyed by my father and other son. The rest of the dishes were nice, not "wow" but pleasant.
Good food and service, great prices for the top standard and choice offered. Have eaten here before and all good, recommended. Good menu for lunch and even better for dinner.
Food mostly good, the service shocking. Didn't get offered dessert, clearly the staff wanted to go home early. Very disappointed, it's usually better than that.
Staff were great and attentive without being over powering. Food was outstanding bring your appetites though as you get loads especially the sharing platters......don't need a starter thats for sure! Absolutely loved the whole experience a great place to take friends, if you've not been definitely put it on your list of Must Do's!
The food was very tasty. The service was excellent and Very friendly. Would Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Shore area of Edinburgh. Lovely evening
Very enjoyable dinner; well cooked, presented and served. We all enjoyed our evening and the ambience was good. A Scottish win at Murrayfield made it all the better!
Good food in a nice location. Small menu but something for everyone. I had a bean cassoulet as a main which was very good. Good value too
Excellent menu and service. Nice atmosphere, not overly formal or relaxed. Sea bass a little overdone, would have been nice if platters were available on dinner menu
Staff were very attentive and focused on ensuring that we had a fantastic dining experience, which we did. Food was awesome. Restaurant had a great atmosphere
Warm welcome, extensive interesting menu, very tasty. We were in the cosy front of restaurant. The back area where there are more Windows I'm sure will be lovely and bright in the summer.
Great food. Great beer. Great service. Great memories. I shared the meat platter between 2 and recommend highly, others had the 2 course menu. Plenty of variety. No complaints.
CLOSE TO OCEAN TERMINAL. QUIRKY VENUE WITH GOOD MENU AND EXCELLENT SERVICE. ALL REASONABLY PRICED. TRY THE SURF'N'TURF SHARING PLATTER. WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN. SMALL BUT PERFECTLY FORMED
We were booked to have our anniversary meal and were not let down by the food which was amazing! Really good quality and great price. However the service was very mediocre and after waiting an age for dessert menus, the table next to us who were served after us got theirs first. Then came the battle to get noticed for the bill. Once the bill came we sat for another 20 minutes expecting someone to come to us; we eventually gave up and went to the still where the three waitresses were having a chat. I stood for 5 minutes and not one of them acknowledged me. Poor show which affected the rating of have given. Shame as the food as stated was amazing.
Lovely restaurant very original and different. Unfortunately we were sitting for over 30 minutes before we were offered drinks and that was only because we summoned one of the waiting staff so perhaps we could have waited longer if we had not asked a waiter to serve us. We eventually received our drinks and then it was a further 30 minutes before our food arrived. Service very slow but the staff were delightful. Food delicious and hot when it did arrive. We opted for the 2 course set menu of steaks and dessert and this was very good value and very tasty. Would I return? Yes I would and would I recommend this venue yes I would.
Very tasty, quality food, expertly cooked. The place also has a wonderful ambience. We was a group of us there and everyone complimented their dinner. Great location too. I will definitely be back.
Great service with friendly staff. Four of us dined and we could not fault the food and will make a point of going back again.
The service was good but all 4 of our meals were ok. Some bits over cooked and all a bit cold. Overall not a good meal.
Super meal and great to have a gluten free menu. As a coeliac it's good to be able to choose from such an extensive menu.
Really good food and reasonably priced. Excellent drinks list as well, they had some amazing gins on offer. Slightly questionable music playing, but that is down to taste. Would highly recommend this place
Good food, very reasonably priced. Very friendly staff, too; we felt very welcome. We were surprised by how quiet it was on a Saturday lunchtime.
Good quality food. Good friendly professional service. Good location. Bottle of wine not overpriced either. Really nice gesture of free tap water served in a glass bottle and refreshed without asking. The only negative was the Ladies loo not great. Needs checked regularly I would say. Despite that we would definitely go back.
Really good food, excellent service. Will be going back again! It was my second time there and did not disappoint, brought my mum and dad the second time which they loved!
Good choice on all three courses. Food beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Excellent cheeseboard with plenty of oatcakes and biscuits. Service also excellent. This was our third visit and we will certainly be back. Thanks to all the staff
a very nice place with exelent food. we had oysters, hake, haggis. all prepared to the point, very nice decorated on the plate. the staff was very friendly and professionel. we will come back soon!
Excellent setting, very good food and wonderful service. Our friends from Switzerland were very impressed as so did we. Staff were always accommodating, nice and informative.
Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday lunchtime. Good value and interesting menu. Delicious mussels. Excellent cullen skink, very filling. Wine was reasonably priced. Service was excellent. The flat white was the only disappointment - it was a latte or maybe a cappucino, but definitely not a flat white.
Great experience. A Room In Leith is everything we hoped it would be and more. Good food, cosy ambience, good service and very affordable prices. Highly recommended. Will definitely return again.
A Room in Leith was absolutely superb!!! We arrived 15 mins late, and needed to leave again in 1 hour 30 mins to make a show - staff did an amazing job of keeping us to our schedule without being rushed at all. Staff were brilliant, Manager has excellent customer service skills in his meet and greet. Food was just brilliant, and very well priced. BYOB is a bonus. THANK YOU a Room in Leith - we had an excellent evening.
Service and food were excellent. Have not been there for years but will be back before too long. Thank you very much for a good night
Excellent food and great service from very attentive staff. Consider it very good value for money. We will back again in the very near future.
Great service and lovely food. We were a party of six and the food was lovely and the location was great. We would definitely book again.
Good service, including catering for the toddler in our party with a continuing supply of teaspoons - thank you. Lovely food with the exceptions of my mussels which were over-cooked and in a rather watery and tasteless sauce and included three which hadn't opened.
Everything from the food to the service was excellent! Portion sizes were not too big which was brilliant as I had enough room for the cheese board!
Simply one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Superb service and exquisite mussels. Tremendous wine list. Cannot recommend this place enough. Great value for money.
Beautiful meal and excellent customer service. Really good atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The portion sizes are very generous. I would return again and again and...
Great food. Very reasonable prices. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Decent kid's menu. A great lunch enjoyed by 3 generations of my family. What's not to like? Looking forward to the next visit.
Excellent value for money. Delicious food. Plenty of choice even for the vegetarian/ vegan members of our party. Love the BYOB option. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely love it here! The food is always great, yet it's reasonably priced. Our meal last night was no exception. The fact it's BYOB is an added bonus.
An excellent meal and good value that catered well for the vegetarian and non fish eating members of our group. Good selection of well priced wine and beers.
Great food, great value, and fabulous service! The waiting staff deserve special mention as they were so accommodating as we had a 5 week old baby with us. Will definitely be back.
first time here and it was lovely. Had olives to start which were amazing followed by the meat sharing platter. A mountain of food all cooked perfectly. highly recommend it. A great selection of wines, real ale in tap and drams. what more could you ask for! We'll be back
Very good service great location but food a bit stodgy and bland. Pancakes very floury and no seasoning. Maybe we chose the wrong thing. Good coffee
Fantastic food and 5 star service at a room in leith. High quality, fresh meals and great value for money. Would definitely recommend! ! !
Great restaurant, fab staff and amazing food and wine. Can highly recommend. They even moved us to a different table as the conservatory was a little hot for the one yr old in our party. Thank you!
