Good Mokhinga.Very nice pilau rice and chicken curry. Tea leaf salad not exactly like in Myanmar but acceptable. Owner lady very nice and welcoming.
Fantastic. Great food. Will be coming back soon for sure.
Delicious and authentic food. The staff was very friendly. Will return.
Truly excellent food! The owners are really friendly and will be happy to give advice about what to choose. We loved the tea leaf salad and the noodle and lamb dishes we tried.
basic but good food, could do with a bit more menu guidance
Fantastic food! The Mandalay is truly a hidden jewel. Our table of seven ordered a variety of dishes, and every single item was simply wonderful.
Food was pretty bland and the owner who served us was pretty rude. Told us if that we shouldn't expect spices on the food it's not an Indian restaurant. Also really small portions for the price. Also the venue is falling apart. Hole in ceiling covered with a cloth. It may have been good once before but my experience wasn't anything like the good reviews.
Great food, unlike anything I've tasted before!!!! Definitely not a dress up place more akin to a roadside cafe in Thailand. However, I would say its advisable to book as they're only a few covers
Awesome food! Really enjoyed the flavours. Had the fitters to start and the lamb tamarind for main. Really reasonable in terms of price too. Can't wait to go back
For the price the food can only be described as excellent. This was my return after 19 years - as a result of a sudden memory recall this week. I wanted to go back and see if things had changed and it was a pleasant surprise that it certainly had not. It is simple, unpretentious restaurant which focuses on the quality of their cooking and menu. However, I missed the attention of the male owners as it seems they do the evening shift and I was there for lunch. I will return next month, as long as I don't forget again!
Nice and interesting food, but it could be a bit hotter. Lemongrass chicken was the best dish that we tried. Lovely friendly welcome. Would go back.
Tasty home cooked dishes. Interesting fusion of Chinese, Indian and Thai flavours. Staff helpful to explain and recommend unfamiliar Burmese specialties. Service attentive but unrushed. Pleasant evening.
Delicious food. Prawn Balachaung wonderful! The Staff are very friendly and helpful and the service is quick and efficient. The restaurant is conveniently placed for eating before going to the Cockpit theatre.
Arrived on time, and was taken to our table right away. Would recommended it because it's a Great restaurant and good service. Nice food too.
Decided to round off a day of archival research on Myanmar with some proper Burmese food, and was not disappointed. Nor were my vegetarian friends. The food was very similar to meals I had eaten in and around Mandalay a couple of months ago, and equally delicious. Particularly recommend the tea leaf salad, calabash tempura and the red lentil soup; the Burmese special pudding with agar jelly was exquisite too. Plus it was excellent value (especially for London). Quiet, efficient and friendly service. Highly recommended; I'll definitely try and go back soon.
Tremendous food, took me right back to Myanmar. We had the spicy lamb curry and the sour bamboo shoot curry, alongside okra, rice and paratha. Will be going again!
The food was good, but the service extremely slow: waiters would ignore eye contact and it took us forever to order. The prices were reasonable.
Amazing home cooked authentic food. The hosts were friendly and explained the menu to us with recommendations on what dished to combine with what. I will be going back to this hidden gem of a restaurant.
The food was, as always, wonderful. This time we arrived to find the restaurant had suffered a power cut. However, our indomitable hostess kept us supplied with beer, wine and 4 delicious salads until power was restored just over an hour later. Our orders were taken and our starters on our table within 15 minutes of the power coming back on!
Good experience, enjoyed the food and the staff. All very pleasant
Excelent ! Food and service were great. We will go back there soon. It was bit busy and close to next table even on middle of week.
Mandalay is a Very nice and homely place. The owner was happy and proud to explain country's national dished. Nice food, Will definitely be back
A great Burmese café. Lovely people, good food, quite authentic and very reasonable. Definitely no need to dress up. Pity they didn't have Myanmar beer or wine but apparently its not imported to the UK.
Very friendly & authentic Burmese food. My son's family are from Burma so I like to keep them interested in their roots. The owner also knew my son's father so it was nice that he remembered us as we had given him some Burmese artifacts which belonged to him.
Authentic Burmese food. Loved the starter fritters, pickled lamb and semolina. Enjoyed a lot the Burmese tea. Hidden treasure in London, maybe the best and only Burmese in London.
This seemed like a pleasant family owned restaurant. We wen on a Wednesday evening, so fairly quiet, but lots of takeaway orders. I'm not an expert in Burmese food, but dishes were tasty and flavourful. A good spot for a no frills meal. Good value for money.
One of my most favourite restaurants. The food is awesome and staff are very pleasant. Worth trying Burmese food but I am biased coming from Burma which authenticates the flavours I guess
This is not a fancy restaurant, it is more of a homestyle one. The food was warm and honest from the heart. Quite enjoyed everything that we tried here and the hospitality was very good
Very delicious food. Lamb Tamarind was excellent and the Lemongrass King Prawn was amazing. The new chairs are slightly uncomfortable to sit on but all in all a great evening.
Awesome little Find on Edgeware road Really authentic food and great service with a "home cooked" family vibe everything that we ate we loved and will for sure be back!!
My first time eating Myanmar meal and it's very nice. I enjoyed the meal but I wish I ordered some more. I would recommend to go there if you want Myanmar meal.
