The food is lovely, and the staff helpful. The pub /restaurant is really nice and full of character. We were disappointed with their treatment of us as gluten free guests. They have some items labelled as "free of gluten", and some things they can adapt. We ordered Sunday dinner, we couldn't have gravy or yorkshire puds, then they told us they fry the roasties in a fryer used for wheat so we couldn't have them either. So they said we could have extra veg and mash, but that didn't happen. So, thanks for trying Wooly Sheep, but it wouldn't take much for you to be able to provide really good gluten free food, a bit of instant gravy, and a bit of extra veg or some frozen GF yorkshires warmed in the oven would have made all the difference to us. As it was we had a nice meal but my hubby left hungry and we are unlikely to be back
The food was absolutely amazing! Portion sizes were not to be sniffed at and the black pudding was delicious. Would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding - husband said it was the best he had ever had!! Breakfast was also spot on
Disappointed with sweet, mixed berry Eaton mess, it was just a pile of cream with few berries no meringue. At £5 a person a bit expensive.
Lovely service from the staff and food was amazing, definitely worth the money. really nice atmosphere and I loved the decor, already planning to come again!
Really nice Sunday roast as always. A nice selection of wines and Timothy Taylor ales. Delicious desserts too! Highly recommended and we will definitely come back again
Easy to book online with availability at the time ww required. Lots of atmosphere. Good choice on the menu, all dishes were well presented and tasty with very good service and helpful staff. We will definitely be back.
Arrived on a busy Friday tea time staff were busy but very polite and helpful, room was a good size, with comfy beds, room clean and well equipped. Had a lovely evening meal a little too much salt for our taste but we still enjoyed it. Breakfast was OK good selection of food. A nice quaint pub with atmosphere.
simple but well cooked pub grub, good friendly service and atmosphere.
Good food, great service, lovely friendly staff. We would recommend The Woolly Sheep for a great break away. Have returned many times. Will be back again next year.
Friendly service, some meals were really good but others not that great, they were not very warm and a bit tasteless. Busy and popular place though.
As usual top quality dining. Really tasty beef Sunday dinner with great vegetables and not a carrot in sight. Had mojito cheesecake for dessert. A little sharp for my taste but otherwise worth a try.
Great pub but went primarily for food and the batter on the fish and chips is just not what I expected ... being hard and crunchy and instead of pea purée mushy peas would have been better for me
Fantastic Sunday lunch! There was something on the menu for everybody to choose from. We will definitely be going back again in the future.
Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere and staff. Menu consisted of pub favourites and also a varied specials board. Our choice of the Belly Pork special was delicious.
Having to pass through a crowd of extremely drunk people is not my idea of a fun night out (It was a Saturday). One person actually careered into a sign sending it crashing to the ground as he tried to navigate his way around a corner. The food was reasonable but not anything to shout about - overall - disappointing. The potato really did taste as though it had been re-heated and I wish I had pointed this out at the time. The server was polite and helpful and some attempt was made to accommodate one of our parties' allergies - although initially they still sent out the food with the sauce that could harm her!!! I won't be rushing back or recommending to others.
My wife and I are regular long standing visitors to the Woolly Sheep. It has had extensive changes over the years and has retained its character. Love it all.
Food and service very goodies the price is very reasonable. I had the gammon my guest had the Brie booth very nice . I would definitely visit again.
Lovely meal, with a good vegetarian choice. Prices reasonable. Service professional and friendly. Easy to book the table online. Would certainly visit again when in the area.
You can't fault this place. There were 8 of us for lunch. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food arrived in a timely fashion. The menu is imaginative and great value. Overall, fantastic food, great beer. I'll be back.
Staff helpful but looking after bar and tables as well so hard to get their attention even though it wasn't very busy. Just 2 of them. Food underwhelming and nothing summery (light / salad) on the menu! Just 2 fish dishes including fish and chips amongst lots of meat and not much vegetarian. Beer top quality!
Excellent atmosphere great table service and the food was great for Father’s Day along with the little touches they made the day lovely 😊 ..
Excellent well presented food.We booked as a table of 9. All food was hot, on time and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely book again.
The Wooly Sheep provided fantastic accommodation, food and hospitality. We can't fault it and will definitely be staying again. We would highly recommend it to anyone.
I had a great meal at the Wooley Sheep Inn. The Yorkshire Puddings are the best! I would highly recommend. The pub is very clean and there is a great atmosphere
Very small top floor room, not worth £95 per night. The evening menu was not inspiring and I did not like the chips. The breakfast was very good but some fruit would have been nice.
Meal was ok .... not up to usual standard. £7.50 for a smallest bit of belly pork ever and £12 pie was in smallest poss dish.....also £22 steak was just ordinary ....really not great value for money ! Come on Woolley sheep.... get your act together !
We ordered the 2 steaks which includes a bottle of free wine . My wife ordered sirlion medium which came rare and I ordered the flat iron rare, which is how you are meant to cook flat iron which arrived medium which made it really tough. To cap off a disappointing meal they tried to charge me for the wine which was meant to be free. Won't be going back
Great tasting food, a good pint of ale and polite helpful service. A good selection on the menu although another hot pud such as sticky toffee pudding or a chocolae fondant would have tempted us onto the desserts on a cold wintry evening. That's just personal taste though!
loveley meal for our party of four nice surroundings and good service really enjoyed it will go again next month and have another steak and soup ha ha
A great Sunday roast, perfect. Good service too, nothing was too much trouble, extra gravy on request. Busy pub, been before def go back. Plenty of choice on the menu
Nice meal.. Efficient friendly staff Room clean and well maintained with plenty of drink making choice.. Hot chocolate, tea coffee, biscuits etc.. Beer fandabbidozi... and bar busy and welcoming..
The service could have just been quicker it took about 1 hour 30 minutes for just a main course and it wasn't busy. The food and staff were great.
Excellent food and customer service. A hearty Sunday lunch, with a wide choice offered. Very welcoming atmosphere. Always visit The Woolly Sheep when visit Skipton.
The food was good and the service was very good .the Woolley Sheep had a nice atmosphere . Good choice of wines. Reasonably priced food and wine most enjoyable.
Superb food and great service. There was 12 of us for my birthday party and we all felt very welcome and enjoyed the atmosphere. Thanks to all the Wool Sheep staff for making it special. Jay
Good lovely service just ok I emailed to inform of a birthday and they said they would put a balloon on table but they didn’t, ordered drinks had to ask 3 times never offered condiments had to ask meal half eaten by the time they arrived, asked for beef well done came rare very tasty food though
Fab arrive, food and drinks. Loads of delicious choices to suit even the fussiest of eaters. Never had a bad or average meal here. Always been amazing.
Busy Sat evening so some things off menu. Lamb stew OK but served with overcooked root vegetables covered in a thick 'gloopy' gravy - strange taste.
The Sunday roast beef dinner was quite average however the desert made up for it, banoffee cake with peanut butter ice cream. Service was also average, not overly friendly.
good not as good as previous times.sent dumplings back as far to hard to eat.gammon steak was very good.overall standard not as brilliant.wouldn't go again.
wonderful night for our friends birthday, good food, friendly staff, lovely enviroment would of liked more vegetarian options! but will definately go again Thank you
The food and service was fantastic, this is not pub grub but restaurant quality food, delicious! The setting was really lovely too, Skipton is beautiful.
