Great food and drinks, very kind services and not too expensive! The atmosphere was very cosy and nice too. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent food and attentitive without being over-baring service. Good value. Background music was at the correct level and enabled us to speak without having to shout. A great night out.

A lovely quirky little restaurant tucked away on Cockburn Street. The place had a great atmosphere, fun friendly staff and the food was all very natural and fresh. We couldn't resist desert either-can highly recommended the Dime Bar Crunch!

food was nice as it always is however bit taken aback by the service charge immediately tacked onto the end of the bill - only 2 of us were dining and while I appreciate this is the norm for larger parties I prefer to chose the amount to tip rather than having it demanded. Seemed very rude

Viva Mexico is the best Mexican in Edinburgh by far. We've been coming here since 1993. I'd highly recommended this restaurant to everyone. Yum yum.

We have been using this restaurant for well over 20 years. It has never failed to provide excellent food, service and atmosphere. Now introduced our son to it ☺️.

A Good value lunch deal, our group had a few starters and mains, all very tasty food, and friendly service in a great location too.

We arrived 30 minutes early and they were able to accommodate us no problem. Food was as spectacular as always and it was a lovely time!

Lovely little place, it's a lot bigger than you realise once yoù are downstairs , great atmosphere and really good food, always make sure you book ahead because it is very popular

We went in really looking forward to the food after hearing great things about the place and we came out extremely disappointed and feeling very ill. The taste was bland and some items were dry and others overly greasy and oily. The only good thing about our experience was the drinks!! Would definitely not go back.

Viva Mexico is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in the UK. The quality of the food is as good as I remembered growing up in Phoenix Arizona and San Jose California. I'm from the US, and Mexican American, so I know what I'm talking about. I'm 60 now, been in the UK for the last 25 years, and when I want a traditional Mexican meal, I know where to go!

Great food and sevice! Had an all vegetarian dinner and the food was delicious with good size portions. Looks small from the outside but has a nice seating area downstairs. Needed reservation to get in but was easy to book via Mobile.

Lovely restaurant. Great food, relaxed ambience, great service and central location. We visited recently with friends and we look forward to visiting Viva Mexico again soon

A firm favourite since discovering over a year ago. Friendly service and amazing food as always. An abundance of gluten free options and a great atmosphere.

We arrived earlier than our reservation time and were immediately seated. Service was friendly, and we enjoyed our lunches very much. Portions were a good size and a nice value for money, especially the lunch special. Will definitely return again.

I first went to Viva Mexico in 1984 and was delighted that it is still going strong. We had a lovely meal, with excellent service.

The food was again excellent and the staff were very efficient with a warm welcome It is advisable to book if going later in the evening. Will visit again when in Edinburgh.

Amazing atmosphere, fast service and delicious food. Great cocktails too - the mojitos were great. Surprised by the size of the restaurant - there are several rooms below stairs as well as the small dining area you see when you come in!

The smell was incredible and didn't disappoint. Nachos were delicious and big portions. Fast and efficient service. Very relaxed atmosphere, will definitely go back when next in Edinburgh.

Food not up to usual fantastic. Fajitas did not sizzle on hot plate. Too much chilli used in everything, was my favourite restaurant..... Did give free sorbet to one guest as her usual order was also to hot hot hot !!!!!.....

Waited 35 mins for first drink to arrive. Not enough staff and waitresses looked to be in a bab mood. Food was good when it eventually arrived.

Food was very tasty and enjoyed our daiquiri's. Atmosphere was good and the staff was attentive and friendly. I would recommend people to try it out.

Don't take kids under 8 you won't be made welcome.Good food, dreadful service. La Favorita the night before was superb. By comparison this was dreadful.

if you enjoy Mexican food this is a must. We visit Ediburgh about three times a year and always come to this restaurant it always delivers excellent food. Delicious most nutritious !!!!

Lovely building however the reUrBt was grubby and the food sloppy. I know Mexican type places are usually rustic but this was off putting. Staff were very good.

The mexican restaurant was excellent and they have authentic mexican food. Also the prices are very reasonable and the lunch menu is much and cheap.

The restaurant decor and atmosphere is great. Staff are efficient and friendly but the food very disappointing - not much flavour, too bland and didn't taste very fresh I would try it again before. completely writing it off as visits can vary due to lots of factors - but not what I expected

Excellent food the enchiladas were lovely. The friendly staff couldn't do enough for us even although the restaurant was busy. I had the most amazing chocolate chilli cheesecake apparently made by the owner. We'll be back! Would certainly recommend Viva Mexico to others!

Service was not great and we were charged extra for more sauce which was a shame. Food and pitcher of margarita were very tasty, albeit expensive.

I had a very nice time at Viva Mexico! The food was really good and the staff friendly and welcoming! My recommendations: silver margaritas and choriqueso!!
