Viva Mexico

Food was lovely but the service felt quite rushed, we had two courses and were out within half an hour. Maybe this was because it was quieter but would have been good to have a bit more time between courses.

This was our second time at Viva Mexico and it was better this time than the last time, which we truly enjoyed! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was just right where you could listen to the music but still have a conversation. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely food and ambiance. We arrived early and were given a lovely table downstairs. The portions are hearty; it was just what we needed after a long afternoon and getting caught in the rain.

Gorgeous food and lovely atmosphere, definitely recommend for anyone who loves Mexican food. Very reasonably priced and is central so really easy to get to

Always a great place to eat. You can't go wrong with homemade salsa and amazing main courses. Try a margarita (they are pricey) treat yourself!

Amazing food and pretty decent staff. Homemade salsa and it hits the spot for tex mex for this American who now lives in the UK. Always eat here when we come to Edinburgh.

Fantastic restaurant with excellent food and service. We had a large party attending and they dealt with us extremely well and efficiently. The food was superb too. Large portions and tasty Mexican fare. Highly recommended.

Booked a table last minute, got a good choice of tables, the food was great, good selection of starters and mains and a great choice of fillings, also the guacamole was fantastic!

Excellent service with some very good staff. Nice to be recognised as a regular. The food is always excellent and there is plenty on your plate. My favourite Mexican outside of Mexico .

Food was very nice as was the virgin mojito. The décor is fun, loved the day of the dead candle holders on each table. Would recommend.

Lively vibe to complement the vibrant flavours and great cocktails. Service was creditable efficient and friendly, prices were quite reasonable too. Would definitely pay another visit.

Amazing food, truly fantastic. Everything feels authentic and full of flavour. They have a great selection of tequila to get you in the mood as well. Just a great restaurant.

Quick efficient service and great food! This is the second time we have been to Viva Mexico and we had a great time. We will be returning.

Food was delicious and one of the girls was absolutely lovely to my husband who was celebrating his 50th. Lovely margherittas too! Everyone of us had something different to eat and we all loved it.

It was nice here! We had good food and some drinks and it was pretty cool. Definitely get some dessert. Check it out! Screw Flanders.

Great service and even better food. Loved the atmosphere (very relaxed) and we’re planning to come back one evening where we can enjoy the Margaritas! Leave the car at home and make the most of this place.

I'm a first time visitor and was very impressed - a lovely warm welcome and quirky decor adding to an extremely enjoyable evening. Good menu choices both food and drink!! The staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. Well worth a visit, recommend you book. I will definitely be returning. Fabulous 🤗

Despite being very busy staff were attentive and service was prompt. They also happily adapted the menu to suit one of our party. A very good way to enjoy a family celebration

Had the driest chicken ever and could not watt, told the waitress who apologised but still charged us, I'm not really one to make a scene, ribs had a lovely sauce but could not pick up for 10 minutes as I think they had been blasted in the microwave, this was a pretty poor Mexican and must rely on tourists and students, shame

Excellent wee restaurant offering lovely flavoursome food at a great price. The Staff are really great and the atmosphere is also great to. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a real authentic Mexican experience with a couple unique Scottish twist on one or two dishes.

We have visited here about twice a year and always enjoyed the good food and service there. The staff are always very attentive and it is good value for money.

The food is extremely tasty, authentically Mexican dishes and well priced - however the appearance and presentation wasn't up to scratch, which is why I've reduced score slightly. This excludes the fish tacos which looked and tasted incredible!

Had a fantastic meal, great company and brill cocktails. Can't wait to go back again! Defo good idea to book though as it fills up fast!

Great night ! Fabulous food , with extensive menu options and delicious tastes ! we were a table of 10 and received friendly attentive service in relaxed atmosphere Loved the “Latin” beats music ! We all had an enjoyable fun time !

Love this authentic Mexican. Lovely staff and gorgeous food. What else can I say? The margaritas aren’t too bad either. We partook of a large jug and very nice.

We like to go eat there. But looks like there is a few issues with communication. Great food but service can improve. Still not the end of world.

My 10th plus visit to this excellent Mexican Restaurant. I always book when I’m working in Edinburgh as the food is so good. Treated myself to the beef Fajitas this time and they were very tasty. Looking forward to my next visit.

Enjoyed the experience, good quality authentic Mexican food. Service was timely, polite and helpful. The ambience was good although the layout was a little quirky. Acid test is will I go back, you bet I will !!!

Friendly service and ok food. Been years since I last visited. Have had much better Mexican food but this was certainly pleasant enough. It’s a great location for tourists.

very nice staff and great mexican food. sopa de tortilla, ceviche and camarones recommended. three diff. vegetarian options for fillings available, feta/spinach was perfect. def. going back for another one!

The food was excellent, with the steak being very tender indeed, and the salad with it also very good. The wine we had was also very good, and cold as it should be!

A great authentic Mexican restaurant that has been in Edinburgh for many years, Lovely food, great service and decoration that transports you to Mexico! Love it!
