Fantastic food, wonderful sangria, lovely friendly staff. Fantastic end to a great weekend in Edinburgh. Can strongly recommend this restaurant.... Best fajitas I've ever had

Really nice time, fully booked for the walk ins in front of us, but our quandoo booking meant we were seated straight away. Nice food and atmosphere so would go back again

3 out of 4 chairs broken and wonky table. Could just have been out bad luck but food not hot and fajita not even a whimper never mind a sizzle. Shame.

Menu was great, plenty of options for lunchtime, perfect portion sizes for lunchtime. Not expensive at all. Love the buzz of the place. Absolutely love Viva Mexico. Highly recommend.

Cute restaurant, great food with choices for any dietary needs! The staff are friendly and attentive and food was prepared quickly given we were a large group. Reasonably priced, we were all pleased!

The food and restaurant itself was lovely, the service was a little slow though, our drinks came almost at the same time as our food did.

The food was very good and the ambience was lovely downstairs. I had only previously been in for lunch at the street level but downstairs is a better dining experience and the piped Mexican music added to the occasion Would definitely come again

We have been patrons of Viva Mexico since it opened, but last nights visit was the first for several years and again it did not disappoint. The food, service atmosphere were all as we expected excellent.

Superb authentic Mexican restaurant. Been here several times and I am never disappointed. The staff are friendly, the food excellent and the drinks (especially the cocktails) are on point. Was my fourth visit. Now looking forward to my fifth :)

Food really lovely. Menu was varied. Chilli chocolate cheesecake exceptional but be warned was spicy. Venue quaint. Would recommend and we used our gourmet card

We were a group if six. The food was really good especially the stuffed jalipino starters. The atmosphere was relaxed and we had a chilled evening.

Nachos were great, fajitas were great, cocktails were really nice also. Only complaint would be that we were sitting quite close to the front door and there was a breeze everytime the door opened.

A lovely afternoon with pre cocktail, good food, a nice bottle of wine and the service was perfect. Always guaranteed good Mexican food and atmosphere. Thanks

Food delish the best Mexican I have eaten in. Staff attentive and will definitely be back. Good value for money. Good portion sizes couldn't move afterwards.

Nice Mexican food to a good price, nice relaxed environment. Also, thumbs up for sangria and margarita pitchers! Had lovely Tuesday dinner with some friends.

The food was really good, I had a burrito, my brother has enchiladas. The portions were large and delicious. The waitresses were lovely, would definitely return.

great atmosphere etc - nice family run place and much preferred choice over all those national chains watch out for on-line booking though - I ducked out half way through and just rang up the old fashioned reliable way, but even though I didn't complete the on-line booking it has triggered spam from the nasty middle men who feed off these restaurants

Great food, the Sopes for starter were ace, as were the haggis nachos. Top atmosphere too, good value; a great Mexican restaurant. We will be back.

Fantastic staff and the best mexican food ive had. The salsa is fantastic, the options for my vegetarian girlfriend were many. Ill definitely return next time I visit Edinburgh. Its just a shame i couldn't finish my plate.

Great restaurant - with amazing food and atmosphere :) this was our second visit here and it didn't fail to impress us. The décor is just perfect for the Mexican, we had a mixture of wine, cocktails and sangria followed by starters and mains which just hit the spot!

Very busy this rugby weekend and drinks service a bit slow: but table ready on time and no delay on food which was tastier and healthier than a lot of Mexican food currently around. Nachos and salsa particularly good

Had a lovely dinner here to celebrate a birthday. Great traditional Mexican food with that home cooked feel and amazing cocktails. Lovely intimate feel and excellent service. Ate here because my parents had been eating there since it opened in the 80s and it didn't disappoint. Would definitely come here again!

Most delicious food. Large portions. Great atmosphere. Didn't know Edinburgh has such a great mecixan reataurant!!! Staff is friendly, attentive and quick. i am definitely coming back and also recommending to others.

Excellent food. A real treat for me being wheat intollerant to have so many choices. Menu is clearly labelled for gluten free options. I love eating here.

The best Mexican food I have ever eaten!!! Service was attentive but not over powering. I mentioned it was my partner's birthday and they gave us a fab table over looking Princess Street - nice touch.

Brilliant food! Friendly staff. Table was a bit small for 2 lots of fajitas - but we managed! Maybe the price is a bit inflated, but I got the feeling everything was cooked fresh and the tortillas didn't seem to be out of a packet. Definitely will be back!

The atmosphere was great and the food was even better! Loved the downstairs restaurant and would highly recommend. The nachos and burrito were a definite favourite.
