Central location with warm environment. Serving excellent food, reasonably priced, rapid and friendly service. I definitely recommend the place and the amazing margaritas they serve.

Have been going here on and off since they opened in 1984, great food well presented. They good do with a bit of cooling and ventilation in the lower rooms, but that doesn’t detract from the food and service.

Food very bland, make decent fajitas myself but received chicken strips! On the plus side the staff nice and ambiance good. Shame the food disappointed.

The food was good and service friendly and quick even though it was busy. It was perfect for a dinner with a friend and hearty Mexican food but nothing flash.

Overall our experience was ok. The service was standard, not bad or knock your socks off. Food tasted nice and had decent sized portions for those who like filling meals. We had haggis nachos which was a nice Scottish spin on the Mexican dish and fajitas. Decorated it’s lots of Mexican art with some Christmas decorations up for Dec. It looked a bit tired but the restaurant has been there for a long time so kind of what you’d expect. Nice atmosphere and gave us a chance to catch up properly without being rushed (although Tues night so quiter than your busy nights)

We received great service, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. The food was delicious and there's a wide variety of options on the menu.

Visited on a Saturday night. Thankfully booked as very busy, as are many other restaurants in Edinburgh on a Saturday evening. Service was efficient though not particularly welcoming. Bit disappointed with the starter of stuffed jalapenos as smaller than many we've had and not very spicy. Mains were good. My wife, who loves chicken fajitas, was especially pleased with her's. Will probably visit again if in the area.

Really lovely atmosphere in this place, very deceiving as it is really big! Split into three levels. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Unfortunately for us the food let it down, we had starters and mains, we found it to be stodgy and bland. Quite disappointing. However we were both famished so it filled a gap. One other point, the kitchen were playing pretty loud music (heavy metal) which for us was ok as we are both metal chicks ;-) but it may not have been very good for others.

This place has a good atmosphere and lively music appropriate for this type of restaurant, however my Diet Coke which I did ask for a can came in a glass and had no fizz, my starter of nachos and chilli was excellent but my chicken fayitas was overcooked and no spice. Would return and only eat the nachos

Good service. Ceviche fish not very finely chopped. Chicken Quesada grande and tacos very tasty. Lock on 1 of ladies toilets needs mending. Nachos bit pricey for what arrived on plate.

Der Empfang war sehr nett und wir waren überrascht, wie groß das Restaurant im Keller noch ist. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Weinauswahl auch sehr gut.

Fab atmosphere and food. Really great with with food intolerances and also do quite a few vegan options which is a big thumbs up from me. Didn’t have the best cocktails but think this was down to a new member of staff working under high pressure on a busy evening so no biggie for us. We’ll be back!

As always, tasty food and friendly staff. Portion sizes are good, we got a couple of starters between 6, you wouldn't need one each. I never feel very healthy afterwards but who goes out for a salad. Aztec coffee at the end was delicious.

Lunch not as good as previous visits for dinner have been. Chicken enchiladas were quite wet, and the fajitas didn't have that lovely sizzle you'd expect. Not bad, but if it was my first visit I'd think twice about coming back. Service was good, thankfully.

The food was amazing! However, they charged us 3.5 pounds for mayo!!!! My husband wanted some ketchup for his potatoes wedges I asked the waiter and they did not have it so they offer us mayo we never thought it will cost us 3.5 pounds for it. That was way overpriced for the tiny mayo we got...

Tasty food and friendly staff. Great little restaurant with nice decor. Highly recommend the fajitas. Tip: downstairs has a fabulous view of the Balmoral hotel clock.
