Great visit, pleasant service and decent food at a decent price
Interesting place, good food. Liked the atmosphere and the decor. The wait for a tad long but it was worth it.
The food & service here is wonderful & the restaurant is lovely. The food is really reasonably priced & really good value for money but at £8.50 for a large glass of wine after 2 glasses each the drinks bill came to the same as the food! Wouldn't put us off going again though - we just won't drink as much next time!
restaurant has changed its name and theme. Lots of menu items not available. Portions were small, chips were quite awful. No soap and hand drier not working in Gents. Waitress was very nice though.
Good food, good service, great décor, amazing place! Loved it
Value for money is great for a city like Birmingham so I can only praise them for the quality of food and atmosphere. The only thing that dragged my overall rating a bit down, although it's me being picky, is the fact that they brought the main course and starters at the same time.
First time eating Bulgarian food. The service was friendly and the food good. We would go again.
Amazing food ! Iliyana made us feel most welcome yesterday meeting all our expectations ! Brilliant place where you can experience 100% the bulgarian hospitality .
Food was good but the service poor and amateur .
I love being humbled when I dine. The surroundings may not be extravagant, it doesn't need to be. The staff are salt of the earth, respectful and go out their way to tend to your every need. The starters are zingy, main dishes are hearty and food portions are perfect. I love the attention to detail inserted into the Bulgarian theme of the restaurant. Interior decor, music, crockery nods to its traditional origins. Transport your mind, body and stomach to Eastern Europe in the heart of Birmingham with these winters warmer dishes.
Good food, pleasant service. We will return when we next go to the theatre, it is just next door. Excellent value for money. Would recommend.
I went for lunch with a friend. Both of us are Bulgarian. Great location! Very central. Overall we enjoyed our lunch there as we miss the Bulgarian atmosphere and cuisine however and unfortunately there were some issues which were irritating and spoilt the impression.. The waitress had nice attitude but forgot one of the mains. She apologised and brought it quickly which was great. Then she forgot to bring the bread even though reminded twice...neither did she bring a spoon for my friend who,was having a meal with a sauce- so she had to eat it with a fork and no spoon, no bread to dip in..Even though we didn’t get the bread it was included in the bill! Overall food was ok but there was lack of attention to detail. The tomatoes and cucumbers in the salad we’re cut in large chunks and not easy to eat. All food including starters and mains were served together rather than starters first. The pork skewer was quite chewy and frankly quite economical with the amount of the pork pieces. The cooked food such as the soup and the pork with mushroom sauce was actually quite nice and I wouldn’t fault it. However the little things mentioned above did leave a slightly uncomfortable feeling in us...Additionally there was no toilet paper in the toilet...overall we felt as if we were right back in the motherland for real..unfortunately! My friend wants to go again I am not so sure. I hope that the it gets better as it has potential but I feel that more hard work and attention is needed.
the service was excellent an extensive menu to choose from, host offered advice is you are not familiar with Bulgarian food huge portions will certainly visit again
Amazing, authentic and affordable food, nice setting, 5 minute walk from New Street station, and VERY friendly service... not criticism at all. We will be back for more!
Always impressed with the good quality of food, fast serving and verry smiley staff. The music is traditional folklore, which is making you feel like you are in Bulgaria.
Delicious traditional Bulgarian food, great old Bulgarian music, friendly and polite staff, very authentic. Will definitely be eating there again. The location is great too 5 min walk from the New Street train station.
Great food and staff, very well priced with a range of Bulgarian wines etc. Huge menu with big portions with interesting Bulgarian country food. Close to Grand Central so easy to get to without a car.
Rustic surroundings. Very friendly staff and tasty food. Live music later in the evening, with spoke dancing between the tables! A fun place. Try it if you want a very different dining experience
Missing parts of order and waited over 2 hours for what food was brought out. It was a travesty and my Bulgarian Girlfriend cooks better traditional Bulgarian food. Not impressed at all
Situated in a Heart of Birmingham close to the New street parking. Very polite and attentive staff. Amazing food and fantastic service for reasonable price. Strongly recommended!
