Food was wonderful, lovely evening, accommodated my request for seating. Staff was attentive and helped us with our dilemma regarding the wine, which worked out cheaper.
Food lovely, but not as wonderful as on previous visits, service great, and loved the sweet jar with jelly beans etc in at the end. We have been very spoilt here in the past, this was just not as good as previous visits.
It took very long time to prepare our food. One of the mains was not available but not mentioned when the menus were given to us. One of the main courses was very small and served one like you would receive in the pub. Dessert was tasted burned and bitter. Very overpriced for the value
Service was excellent as ever, making it a pleasure to visit. Food was of a good standard and generous. If you have not been here it is recommended
Top notch food. The menus have been updated and, I must say look much better. Excellent selection of Specials. I had the Pheasant leg as a starter and a very fresh tuna steak. Excellent wine selection....I thoroughly recommend the French Malbec. Efficient and polite staff.
An excellent experience and excellent food. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable, service was very good. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend it.
the meat was good but all of the fish dishes we had were extremely overdone. the special deals they had on offer were a different price than stated on their website and the final bill was too complicated to understand what they had charged us for. To top it off, something I ate made me extremely ill for 12 hours following the meal...
Visited on a Saturday evening and restaurant was not too busy. Food was nice and well presented. Service was good as well.....what more can you ask for?
Great restaurant - the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is absolutely fantastic and the cocktails are delicious - would definitely recommend and will be going back soon!
Good food attentive staff extremely polite and it had a really nice atmosphere, we loved it we will definitely be going back again very soon
Good food pleasant staff good atmosphere one down point had problems reading memu due to type face and colour of ink used but did not spoil my evening
Service was good, the waitresses were attentive and were pleased to help. Food was above average on the whole but the calamari starter could halve been cooked a little better. I'd visit again.
Over priced for what it is. Burgers are affordable but everything else is too expensive. Prefer the more atmospheric pubs in the area of the village.
The restaurant served great food and they were huge portions but it was very very tasty. It was a lovely Mothers Day lunch. We have been before and we will definitely return again.
A party of four, we had four different dishes. Every course was well presented tasty good good food. The best ice cream ever! Great service too, very attentive waiter. An excellent meal, I'd highly recommend the village kitchen
We had delicious food and really great service. I love this restaurant, we always go here for a special occasion. The steak was the best I've had for years.
Great food beautifully cooked - well done chef. Lovely atmosphere. Just a shame our fantastic waitress was working alone. Particularly as the restaurant was full. Please look after your staff and customers and employ more than one serving staff - she also had to mix / pour the drinks at the bar before serving them.
We had a Lovely meal at VK. It was great service, the waiter was very polite and proffessional . The only downside was that the portion were quite small.
Consistently very good - with lovely staff! Would appreciate more 'pure' fish and vegetarian options on the menu (although they are very amenable to requests, say, to substitute the chorizo added to potatoes with a non-animal alternative!) Could also do with some better background music! But still our favourite local restaurant!
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. An eclectic mix of diners. Food very good and well presented . If i have a criticism the cheese board was a little unimaginative . My companions dessert however was enormous
Great food, good service, thoroughly recommend it as a quality dining experience. As a group of 6 people, with diverse eating preferences (including vegetarian) there was plenty of choice for all of ud.
This restaurant is the best in the village.food never less than interesting thoughtful and well cooked.great service reasonoble price.never had a bad dish there.Tip top..... sticky stir fried venison special...sounded unusual but a joy.
Service was excellent, with staff being very accommodating to our group with children. Sunday roast was above average and other dishes were very good. Would definitely go again and recommend.
Absolutely Amazing... what a lovely place to dine Owner and Managet both lovely people, make us feel at home every time. cant wait to go back!!!
Really good service considering they were packed even at 12pm. Staff were friendly and clearly working super hard. Food was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. Would recommend thoroughly.
Really like this restaurant. Good choice of food and the Pork Belly with mustard mash & red cabbage was the best pork belly (& amazing crackling) i've ever had. Great service, ambience and a fair price. Will definitely be going back.
Came here in mid Feb. Great team who made us feel very much at home. Food and service was excellent and well priced. We will be going back.
Delicious food and staff very helpful with our young nephew. Lots of extra kind steps like bringing him his own drink while we chose ours etc
Always a fantastic experience at VK. The food and staff are second to none. Best restaurant in the village. Belly pork Sunday road is a treat
Great ambience and good food too .... super find in Walthamstow village . Staff are well trained , friendly and knowledgeable about the menu ... good choice of wines to compliment menu .
Had a really nice meal and service was great. Had the pork belly which was very tasty. Will definitely be back again at some point soon.
food and staff as lovely as ever.waitress spilt prosecco so got a free bottle, not that we complained at all. but that is a minor fault in this lovely friendly tasty local xxxx
Hospitality good and friendly restaurant. Good food. My friend can't have dairy, refined Suger and gluten so choices on the menu was limited. Staff were helpful never the less.
Atmosphere was great and the staff very pleasant and helpful. We had the window table and with it being winter it could have been more comfortable. There seemed to cold air coming in. Food was fine if not spectacular.
Very enjoyable meals for six people. A good ambiance with friendly service.starters and main meals were a treat . i would recommend a visit .
The standard of some other restaurants in Walthamstow village has gone down over the last few years but the Village Kitchen has maintained it's standard of excellent food and great service.
Not as good as we remember. Breakfast disappointing value: one sausage, one bacon, one egg, toast extra for £9. All tasty enough, but nothing special. Service friendly but slow.
Great Walthamstow restaurant - good menus and interesting specials. Small but well balanced wine list. Good for special night out or family meal. Never let me down yet!
Sunday roast was very tasty with enormous Yorkshire pudding! They even had a vegetarian option. Portions were big and a bit too much for lunch but you can always skip your dinner, right.
Another very good meal at Village Kitchen - a birthday treat from my brother. I note there is a 2 hour limit for parties of 2 and different limits for other party sizes; I don't like these one bit even if an economic reality, but thankfully not applied this time presumably as restaurant not totally full.
Went for a Sunday roast. Can't fault the food at all, all of our meals were delicious and well prepared. Great fresh ingredients and the meat cooked perfectly as well as a lovely veggie option. Service was fantastic and quick.
I really did enjoyed the food very much especially the mains, steak was beautifully. We did feel that the service was a little too slow.
The Food was excellent, the environment the same, everything was great, the sitting near the kitchen was fantastic, every dish that came to our table could be followed.
Usually love it here but the menu was limited. They were out of what I wanted for a starter and main. I ended up having a chicken burger... Great service though and food was good. Just didn't have what I wanted. Shame.
Thank you for another lovely family meal at the Village Kitchen - the food was delicious and the service was faultless and friendly. The roast beef was amazing and the children loved their burgers. Will definitely be back.
Friendly local brasserie , good atmosphere ( if there was background music we didn't notice it), tasty food with plenty of choice. Would strongly recommend
Not busy when we arrived, only 2 of us, but it took over 30 mins to get a jug of water and bottle of wine to us. Our starter arrived 15mins later, mine was unpleasant (I wasn't charged for it). My friend's marinated beetroot tasted shop bought/prepared. The mains lacked seasoning. Staff pleasant but good poor
The Village Kitchen serves up great food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It is consistently reliable and I would highly recommend it for a meal out.
We booked in via Quandoo for Sunday lunch. Village Kitchen was busy as usual but that didn't stop the staff from giving us a warm welcome and making us feel valued. I had the roast salmon with trimmings, husband had the roast chicken, knowing how generous the portions are we had deliberately skipped breakfast, but I had to reluctantly give up two roast potatoes to allow room for the Eton Mess which is an absolute favourite dessert. Other half chose the chocolate bread and butter pudding with custard which is a firm favourite. Chose a Pinot Noir to drink. Great value for money, this is and always will be one of our favourite restaurants.
staff were great and vey friendly. great lamb and chicken dish but not too keen on the crab cakes. overall a great night cosy environment
