Wasn't clear to me having to pay £10 deposit especially when gave Mobile number and 'not' great value for money for the afternoon tea
A lovely warm welcome to this hint of bygone English country restaurant/tearoom. Service very good with lovely, helpful staff. Food was absolutely delicious and large portions. Attractively presented. A lovely garden with stream and ancient Wishing Well. Loved it!
We hadn’t had a meal at The Wishing Well before, only tea and cake, which has always been lovely. Today we had a roast and it was amazing. Absolutely delicious. It arrived very quickly. The staff were lovely and friendly and there was a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Highly recommend!
Beautiful venue, brilliant service. We will definitely be back :)
Lovely setting and great food. I would recommend the Wishing Well to friends and family
X 5 and a dog Great food! Big portions. Friendly staff and good service! Good prices . I couldn't fault anything. Why would you?! Worth the visit wherever you are in Dorset. 🫖 Oh don't forget to make a wish in the Wishing Well! You forget about the rain outside with great food and tea inside. Thank you! The Woodheads from Kent.
Staff very helpful, friendly, and prompt. Pleasant atmosphere and surroundings
We loved it, a fantastic tea room with lovely surroundings.
Very busy lunch time, staff were great and not too long to wait. Huge choice of cakes for dessert, hard to choose, they all looked amazing. Nice to be able to wander around the gardens after eating.
a very pleasant experience , thank you to all the staff
Very pleasant to be able to sit and eat out in the gardens. Lunch food was very nice
Thanks for an amazing high tea and lovely walk around the gardens.
Fantastic peaceful setting and lovely food . The staff were very helpful . Thank you
Having been a regular visitor for 25 years I was disappointed today. I think there are now too many tables. The staff seem harassed and we were waiting ages for our order to be taken.
Lovely table by the window and door. Good friendly service Food excellent
Very nicely. I never see a More beautiful tearoom. Love it...
Lovely little place, you wouldn’t know it’s there when you’re just outside. We went to celebrate my Mum- and Dad-in-law’s wedding anniversary; their choice and their recommendation. The food was delicious, and the staff was lovely and helpful. We all enjoyed our meals. My daughter and I are gluten-free and dairy-free, and they were able to accommodate us with delicious food. We will be back. Thank you, Anita
The cakes were amazing service was excellent and gardens are beautiful
You can rely on the wishing well , lovely staff and beautiful food
I took my 90 year old mother, my sister and two nieces, 9 & 12 years old. We all had a wonderful lunch, walked around the gardens and dropped coins in the well and made wishes. The food here is so good and it is an idyllic setting - enjoyable for old and young alike. Many thanks.
Birthday visit for four. Booking easy...about ten days in advance...on line. Parking OK for us...but we took the last space nearby! Reception was great, booking was recorded, offered choice of tables. Menu varied, and had excellent gluten free choice....needed for one of us. Fast service, food hot and excellent tasting. all staff very helpful.
Recommended by daughter in law. What a tranquil oasis, loved the ambience and the roast lunch was superb, so much so couldn't manage a dessert. We'll be back when in area again.
My 2nd visit - hubbies first. We love the whole concept, we had a walk around the garden and visited the wishing well too. The history is fascinating. My stepson and fiance are looking for wedding venues in Dorset - so have forwarded them your information. :)
We had a lovely cream tea! We booked a table but there wasn’t space for us inside when we arrived, luckily the weather was dry and they have a gorgeous garden! (Better than inside!!!) High tea has to be booked at least 24 hours in advance! We didn’t realise until we arrived, the food we ordered instead was delicious! Highly recommend
A great stop that never fails to impress us. Have stopped here numerous times over the years, a great little stop tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of Weymouth. Cakes are amazing.
Lovely afternoon tea sat in the sun! 🌞 Good food and excellent service!
We enjoyed eating outside. The food was excellent quality- and just the right quantity. Coffee was good too!
What a wonderful place. Everything was 10/10. Can’t wait to go back again.
Great food, service was good. The garden is amazing as so tranquil
Salad coleslaw wasn't fresh otherwise everything OK will come again
Great food with lots of choice, great service and lively atmosphere.
Busy lots of specails not available Lovely gardens Definitely book
Liked it so much , I bought vouchers as gifts . Little hidden gem ♥️
1st time visit for all 3 of us and really enjoyed our lunch. Personally disappointed that they didn't have skinny milk so no cappaccino, although fortunately black americano was good. Interesting selection of gift areas to browse and shop but some not very accessible as other diners were seated in front of them so unable to look at them without leaning over them!!
Fantastic, friendly and very tasty food. We will certainly return, added bonus being dog friendly.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely gardens.
Lovely place, good menu. We had the ham, egg and chips and the quiche. Both Excellent. Would definitely return when in the area.
Great food and venue, parking a bit of an issue.
Beautiful setting with tables also outside amongst a variety of lovely established garden plants. Polite and happy staff providing a large selection of savoury dishes and delicious homemade cakes.
Super first time visit. Beautiful venue next to the river. Food came out fast and was tasty. All the staff are very friendly. Already recommended to family and friends.
Delicious afternoon tea - everything was fresh and tasty, and service was prompt and friendly. Lovely gardens to admire too.
Lovely staff and very tasty food 🥰will definitely come back
We had a lovely Sunday roast cooked to perfection no waste. We took two Dorset apple cakes home as we couldn’t manage a desert! The staff were very attentive and we will definitely be back! Many thanks
