Fantastic setting, friendly staff and great food. What more could you want!
Lovely afternoon spent at the tea room with friends. Good service, fab cake. Relaxed atmosphere, nice not to be rushed.
We really enjoyed our visit. The gardens are very special too. The waitresses were very attentive, we will certainly visit again.
Absolutely incredible - great food & gorgeous surroundings. A++++ :)
Had a gorgeous Sunday lunch for two. We opted to eat outside as weather lovely and service was excellent. Honestly cannot speak highly enough of the food served and will definitely return
Keen to try based on recommendations but we were disappointed. The service in terms of lady at front of house was lovely (warm & friendly) but after that it was perfunctory. The waitress asked neighbouring diners if everything was okay but not us....The fishcakes were small, deep fried 'gooey' and seriously lacking in fish & flavour. The salad had no dressing & the fries were anaemic. Served on a board that I am sure cannot go through a dishwasher. It was very busy and other diners looked happy & content. We ate the food both being too polite to comment at the time but we both said we wouldn't rush back.
My most favourite place to eat at anytime if day. However the Sunday Roasts are exceptional and it would be hard to beat them. The staff are the best and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you
All members of staff were very welcoming and all had a smile on their faces. The food was amazing. An all round fantastic place to visit and beautiful gardens too. Would highly recommend anyone to visit. Thanks to all of staff for making it such a special visit
Great lunch in a lovely setting we will be back again soon.
Beautiful place & lovely gardens, absolutely delicious food, excellent staff & service. Our first visit we will definitely be back. Thank you.
Lovely pretty place, food was good and staff very nice. The only problem is parking! Had to park quite a long way away! Not sure why there are keep clear areas along the road that never were there before, reducing parking even more! Hopefully now holiday season is slowing down it won’t be so much of any an issue!
Quaint cafe tucked away, pity not much parking space but managed to get in after church
Great place and a regular place for us to visit
Enjoyed a pleasant lunch together in the restaurant. Parking difficult
Had a lovely afternoon for my mum’s 90th birthday. Food was great. Thank you
Arrived 10 minutes early but did not expect to be seated. We were told table wasn't ready but another table was in marquee. Sat down and made very welcome and comfortable. Service was excellent, friendly, informative and comfortably attentive.
Lovely enchanting place with matching staff. Will definitely go again
It's always good at the Wishing Well, that's why we go so often, it was only noisey as the restaurant had been booked full.
Beautiful setting. Lovely relaxing decor in the restaurant. Fantastic menu including a seasonal produce specials board. Great choice of drinks. Hot & cold. We chose a glass of Pimms & Ploughman's which were both excellent. Staff were very helpful & friendly. I would not hesitate to go again. It would be the perfect venue for any type of celebration.
Great atmosphere and amazing food in a beautiful setting. We had the roast beef and recommend the crumble.
Noise levels quite high at times, but the restaurant was busy, so not surprising. The food was very good and we all enjoyed our meals.
We had been before and were pleased to have the chance for a return visit with friends. We all enjoyed it very much. Always excellent!
As a group of 11 older gentlemen, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast and warm welcome with one member of our group commenting that it was the best breakfast he’d enjoyed during our monthly visits around Dorset eateries!
Lovely table , beautiful home made scone and plenty of cream etc. staff great too.
First time and it didn't disappoint. Loved the alfresco dining in the water garden and the food was lovely with friendly helpful staff
Fab food and service in gorgeous setings. 3 very happy.diners
Both enjoyed our visit. Food and service was excellent. Dorset apple cake was the best I've ever eaten.
Really good. We all enjoyed the food and ambience. Thank you
Wasn't clear to me having to pay £10 deposit especially when gave Mobile number and 'not' great value for money for the afternoon tea
A lovely warm welcome to this hint of bygone English country restaurant/tearoom. Service very good with lovely, helpful staff. Food was absolutely delicious and large portions. Attractively presented. A lovely garden with stream and ancient Wishing Well. Loved it!
We hadn’t had a meal at The Wishing Well before, only tea and cake, which has always been lovely. Today we had a roast and it was amazing. Absolutely delicious. It arrived very quickly. The staff were lovely and friendly and there was a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Highly recommend!
Beautiful venue, brilliant service. We will definitely be back :)
Lovely setting and great food. I would recommend the Wishing Well to friends and family
X 5 and a dog Great food! Big portions. Friendly staff and good service! Good prices . I couldn't fault anything. Why would you?! Worth the visit wherever you are in Dorset. 🫖 Oh don't forget to make a wish in the Wishing Well! You forget about the rain outside with great food and tea inside. Thank you! The Woodheads from Kent.
Staff very helpful, friendly, and prompt. Pleasant atmosphere and surroundings
We loved it, a fantastic tea room with lovely surroundings.
Very busy lunch time, staff were great and not too long to wait. Huge choice of cakes for dessert, hard to choose, they all looked amazing. Nice to be able to wander around the gardens after eating.
a very pleasant experience , thank you to all the staff
Very pleasant to be able to sit and eat out in the gardens. Lunch food was very nice
Thanks for an amazing high tea and lovely walk around the gardens.
Fantastic peaceful setting and lovely food . The staff were very helpful . Thank you
Having been a regular visitor for 25 years I was disappointed today. I think there are now too many tables. The staff seem harassed and we were waiting ages for our order to be taken.
Lovely table by the window and door. Good friendly service Food excellent
Very nicely. I never see a More beautiful tearoom. Love it...
Lovely little place, you wouldn’t know it’s there when you’re just outside. We went to celebrate my Mum- and Dad-in-law’s wedding anniversary; their choice and their recommendation. The food was delicious, and the staff was lovely and helpful. We all enjoyed our meals. My daughter and I are gluten-free and dairy-free, and they were able to accommodate us with delicious food. We will be back. Thank you, Anita
The cakes were amazing service was excellent and gardens are beautiful
You can rely on the wishing well , lovely staff and beautiful food
I took my 90 year old mother, my sister and two nieces, 9 & 12 years old. We all had a wonderful lunch, walked around the gardens and dropped coins in the well and made wishes. The food here is so good and it is an idyllic setting - enjoyable for old and young alike. Many thanks.
Birthday visit for four. Booking easy...about ten days in advance...on line. Parking OK for us...but we took the last space nearby! Reception was great, booking was recorded, offered choice of tables. Menu varied, and had excellent gluten free choice....needed for one of us. Fast service, food hot and excellent tasting. all staff very helpful.
Recommended by daughter in law. What a tranquil oasis, loved the ambience and the roast lunch was superb, so much so couldn't manage a dessert. We'll be back when in area again.
