Lovely food and surroundings Staff attentive and helpful even though they were full. Very enjoyable
It was fantastic service and great food. Even though it was raining, and we were sat outside, we enjoyed ourselves. The staff were very attentive to our table and provided us with blankets, because it was quite chilly. We will book again.
Love the wishing well cafe so much. We come here weekly now as we enjoy it so much. Food is always incredible and such a lovely atmosphere! The staff are incredible as well
Always look forward to coming here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking a for a cute meal out
Had the afternoon tea and it was brilliant. Will definitely return.
Beautiful setting for a scrumptious high tea , thoroughly enjoyed
We booked a High Tea for 2 which was all lovely quality but nothing outstanding. The vintage china and over-all presentation was beautiful and everything perfectly cooked and tasty. Service was attentive and efficient. We were disappointed that although I had specifically booked a table outside due to my friends medical vulnerability we were seated inside. We did both thoroughly enjoy our experience!
Lovely food. Nice calm atmosphere even though it was super busy. Friendly staff and lovely gardens
Excellent visit for drinks and cakes. Toilets could do with a regular check and clean.
A magical little oasis tucked away in the village. The food is always very good and service is friendly
Will definitely be back again in the future, did not disappoint
I was taken here for my Birthday and wanted the High Tea which was available on the day. The milkshake wasn't as expected (ordered a strewberry and cream milkshake) not a strewberry in sight also milk was warm so no ice cream in it either. Then although I was told we could order additional food until 4:30, went to order desert at 4:20 to be told the fryer was switched off so it couldn't be made so ordered a Eton mess - menu stated strewberry and other berries again not a single strewberry insight. Very disappointing service and food.
Lovely food and fantastic garden, will go again very soon
I booked this as a birthday gift and it did not disappoint. Lovely friendly staff from the moment we stepped in the door. Obviously freshly made sandwiches and tasty cakes/meringues/scones. Hot tea with extra hot water. The whole experience was just lovely. Only one thing was that out of four sandwiches, three were fish. Maybe a meat or cheese choice for variety? Other than that a perfect afternoon treat, finished with a gentle stroll around the gardens. Perfect thank you. I will definitely be back!
Excellent food excellent service will definitely visit again very soon
Good to have an option for vegan/ Glutenfree food. More choice would be even better!
This place is gorgeous and the food is lovely. A real hidden gem.
Service was too slow, we have to remind them of our order as we waited more than half an hour without receiving it. We ordered 3 sandwiches of goat cheese , when arrived it was mature cheeses but we take it as we can't wait any longer, salad leaves some fresh and some old with brown edges.
It was really lovely with superb service with a warm welcome and nothing was to much trouble
Beautiful setting for a cream tea, amazing cake choice and friendly service.
The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and the gardens are beautiful.
Friendly staff, following covid rules very well. Beautiful place great company 💕
Generally great, good food, which came out quickly. Only one small criticism, although totally understanding how very busy the small team of staff were. Just a quick acknowledgement on arrival, with “someone will be with you shortly” would have made me feeling less awkward waiting at the door, and feeling ignored. No one asked us how our food was or said anything when we left ........
Lovely place booked again, to take family, great atmosphere pleasant service
Visited today for tea and a slice of cake. It was lovely. Great surroundings and very generous slices of cake.
The food came out with stone cold chips the panini wasn’t hot and inside the cheese hadn’t been melted at all. The server forgot to give us cutlery. Then when the scone came out we didn’t have enough cream for one side and yet someone else took scones to people on another table and gave them holders bigger than the scones full of cream. I have been recommending it I no longer will disgraceful. Should be consistent to each guest and food should be cooked at hot. And on top of that it was for a birthday so it upset me that I was treated so bad
Recommended by a friend who visited recently. The food was amazing so much choice on the menu. Staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Great quality food will definitely be visiting again
First visit for me, lunch treat with my daughter. Food was delicious, prompt friendly service. Table by the gorgeous river. Finished with a wander around the beautiful gardens. Amazing place, peaceful and relaxing. Loved it, thank you Will be back soon ! 🥰
Really lovely, we have been many times from Cambridge to Weymouth and always make this a priority visit. If I may just say one thing it would be the cold drinks; the ‘homemade lemonade’ is in fact a can likewise the ginger beer. Sadly not to the standard of everything else. But - still a lovely friendly place in a magical setting which should not be missed.
Very good lunch, service and surroundings. Will go back again soon!
Staff are always friendly and welcoming. The Wishing Well is a lovely place, food is always amazing. The gardens are something else a really lovely experience that I’ll never get tired of.
Always a lovely place to visit, great staff an amazing food😊
Really good, menu was excellent especially as my daughter is vegan and she was well impressed with the choice. Even catered for the dog with doggie ice cream. Will definitely be returning.
Table outside, lovely food, couldn't fault. Excellent company, would recommend.
Food was super tasty but took a long long time to firstly be shown to our table and then for our food to arrive after ordering, we understand they were busy but it was a bit of a wait! Cant fault the food though!!
We only live 5 minutes away, so very handy for us to pop to for lunch or coffee, always a warm, friendly welcome. We booked for Sunday lunch as we had visitors, walked there on a lovely afternoon, were greeted and seated outside under a tree, listening to tricking water, perfect, 3 roast lunches and a Seabass were ordered, my allergy was taken into account, good wine and quick service considering how busy they were! Our guests from Essex were suitably impressed with the country charm....I bought some plants, as usual, then walked back home to debate where to put them in my already full garden...a lovely Sunday lunchtime, will be back for morning coffee soon....
I went with a friend to upwey wishing well cafe it was really lovely food lovely service and definitely be coming back again soon
We had vegetables with our quiche but menu said salad. The whole meal was lukewarm. The quiche pastry was soggy. We ordered chips( again lukewarm) only because menu stated no potatoes. The least the owner should have done is not charged for the chips. We did not complain because this is the first time out and no one wanted to spoil that time. Also I phoned to check we would eat in only to be shown out to the marquee. I complained and we were given a table inside with max time we could stay. All in all very disappointing.
Every thing was good except the choice of music and weather
A lovely setting with a great walk around garden in sunshine. A hidden gem.
Friendly, Good food, lovely and cosy, excellent menu for adults and children and dog friendly. Lovely garden.
Lovely place, nice friendly staff and excellent meal and service.
Lovely place with very nice, home cooked food. Beautiful garden and wishing well.
Really lovely home cooked food, warm and friendly atmosphere on a wet and windy day. Will definitely recommend and visit again
My 91yr old mother loves this place because there are people in there from all generations, the food is reliably excellent and most of all she is given the portion of meal she did not have room for in a carry out box. My husband and I love it too. The staff are lovely and helpful.
Lovely lunch with friends. So nice to be able to walk around the gardens after good food and also have cake to take home for later!
The covid precautions were excellent. The bar code for the AP was on the door and hand gel was provided there. All the staff were masks and the tables were well spaced. This is one of our favourite places for a meal in Weymouth and District and did not disappoint yesterday. We had afternoon tea which was amazing. We were two meat eaters and one vegetarian. The vegetarian option had a good variety. By the time we had eaten the sandwiches and our enormous scones with cream and jam we did not have room for the attractive cakes. The wishing Well cafe dos takeaways so they were able to provide us with boxes to take the cakes home.
Great service good menu in a wonderful setting we shall eat there again
Lovely hot chocolate however the Venue was a bit cold
Food was amazing & very tasty as usual 😋 will be back
