Generally great, good food, which came out quickly. Only one small criticism, although totally understanding how very busy the small team of staff were. Just a quick acknowledgement on arrival, with “someone will be with you shortly” would have made me feeling less awkward waiting at the door, and feeling ignored. No one asked us how our food was or said anything when we left ........

Visited today for tea and a slice of cake. It was lovely. Great surroundings and very generous slices of cake.

The food came out with stone cold chips the panini wasn’t hot and inside the cheese hadn’t been melted at all. The server forgot to give us cutlery. Then when the scone came out we didn’t have enough cream for one side and yet someone else took scones to people on another table and gave them holders bigger than the scones full of cream. I have been recommending it I no longer will disgraceful. Should be consistent to each guest and food should be cooked at hot. And on top of that it was for a birthday so it upset me that I was treated so bad

First visit for me, lunch treat with my daughter. Food was delicious, prompt friendly service. Table by the gorgeous river. Finished with a wander around the beautiful gardens. Amazing place, peaceful and relaxing. Loved it, thank you Will be back soon ! 🥰

Really lovely, we have been many times from Cambridge to Weymouth and always make this a priority visit. If I may just say one thing it would be the cold drinks; the ‘homemade lemonade’ is in fact a can likewise the ginger beer. Sadly not to the standard of everything else. But - still a lovely friendly place in a magical setting which should not be missed.

Food was super tasty but took a long long time to firstly be shown to our table and then for our food to arrive after ordering, we understand they were busy but it was a bit of a wait! Cant fault the food though!!

We only live 5 minutes away, so very handy for us to pop to for lunch or coffee, always a warm, friendly welcome. We booked for Sunday lunch as we had visitors, walked there on a lovely afternoon, were greeted and seated outside under a tree, listening to tricking water, perfect, 3 roast lunches and a Seabass were ordered, my allergy was taken into account, good wine and quick service considering how busy they were! Our guests from Essex were suitably impressed with the country charm....I bought some plants, as usual, then walked back home to debate where to put them in my already full garden...a lovely Sunday lunchtime, will be back for morning coffee soon....

We had vegetables with our quiche but menu said salad. The whole meal was lukewarm. The quiche pastry was soggy. We ordered chips( again lukewarm) only because menu stated no potatoes. The least the owner should have done is not charged for the chips. We did not complain because this is the first time out and no one wanted to spoil that time. Also I phoned to check we would eat in only to be shown out to the marquee. I complained and we were given a table inside with max time we could stay. All in all very disappointing.

My 91yr old mother loves this place because there are people in there from all generations, the food is reliably excellent and most of all she is given the portion of meal she did not have room for in a carry out box. My husband and I love it too. The staff are lovely and helpful.

The covid precautions were excellent. The bar code for the AP was on the door and hand gel was provided there. All the staff were masks and the tables were well spaced. This is one of our favourite places for a meal in Weymouth and District and did not disappoint yesterday. We had afternoon tea which was amazing. We were two meat eaters and one vegetarian. The vegetarian option had a good variety. By the time we had eaten the sandwiches and our enormous scones with cream and jam we did not have room for the attractive cakes. The wishing Well cafe dos takeaways so they were able to provide us with boxes to take the cakes home.

We were disappointed in their COVID 19 cleanliness. ( our table wasn't wiped before we sat down & the toilets weren't sterilised after each person & also they had paper menus rather than laminated ones which could have been wiped down after each customer. ) But they did have good social distancing in place & hand steriliser at the entrance.
