Tomahawk Steakhouse - Yarm

It was our first visit to the Yarm branch of Tomahawk Steakhouse and although it took a little finding, once we were inside, the staff were friendly, attentive and polite, the food was absolutely fantastic, the steaks cooked to perfection and the sides were gorgeous too, the beef dripping chips are divine! I had messaged the restaurant prior to our arrival to tell them we were visiting for my wife’s birthday and it was a lovely surprise for her when the waitress brought our dessert out complete with a ‘happy birthday’ message and a candle. Nice touch! Overall it was a great visit, if I had to criticise anything it would just be the fact that the music was a little on the loud side, which caused people to have to have loud conversations with their fellow diners and this often made it difficult to hear what the staff were asking us, we ended up with a round of drinks we hadn’t ordered because I thought the waitress asked if we were alright for everything so I said “yes” but she’d actually asked if we wanted more drinks...! But not to worry, we were going to have another drink anyway! We will definitely be visiting again soon and would recommend to friends and family. Best steak I’ve ever had was at Tomahawk Steakhouse!!

First time going here, the place is lovely and the food was delicious. The staff were very helpful. Drinks were fab too 😍 10/10 ⭐️

Beautiful steak cooked to perfection. Amazing peppercorn sauce which added to the wonderful flavour. Enjoyed with friends and a lovely bottle of red! Looking forward our next visit

Excellent service from very friendly and attentive staff. The food was served in a timely manner and each course was excellent. We had a really enjoyable evening.

Staff polite and attentive. Service was good. My sirloin steak had far too much flobby fat which spoilt the eating experience a little. Excellent busy environment and music not too loud.

Had a really enjoyable meal. We had the chateaubriand and Korean chicken, both cooked to perfection. The sides were all very tasty as was the peppercorn sauce. It is quite expensive but for a special occasion is worth the spend. Staff all very pleasant and efficient, would definitely return as this was right up there with one of the best steaks we’ve eaten

Fantastic Sunday roast, great service and good value for money.

Service was ok.. the young man who took our order forgot what one of us had ordered and asked her when she went to the toilet. The food came out they forgot our sides so they were late. Mains weren’t fantasitic I know it was a deal menu but I won’t be rushing back in a hurry for the main menu as if that’s the service and food it didn’t have a good reflection. We got the bill with a 10% service charge on which could be removed which was laughable after the service we had received. Such a shame as I was really looking forward to this and I would never complain or write a review but a recieved an email and thought I may as well give you my opinion so you can improve for others. Sorry guys!

Fantastic service, quality food, great setting. Nothing more could have been asked for. The pricing was fair based on what you get - the food demanded a premium price.

Like - Went for The Early Bird meal , good value , everyone enjoyed their meals . Dislike - one steak was a bit gristly and a service charge was automatically added to the bill , would have left a 10% tip but like it to be our choice .

The 'restaurant week' for £15 (3 x courses) was good value for money and lovely food. There were plenty of choices on the menu. Service was good and the staff were great.

It was real nice and the service was excellent. The steak was cooked exactly how I like it and the side were a great option.

Great food and service, will definitely be back to try some more of the menu. Not a fan of you adding the service charge although I know it’s optional, I would just prefer you to let the customer take control of this.

Staff not attentive enough. Food was fine but the atmosphere was something like a morgue. A complete contrast to the one in Potto. The staff gave the impression they didn’t want to be there plus a tip is now ingrained into the Bill?? Let it go this time but will not return to the Steakhouse in Yarm. Really need to be more like Potto.

We ordered the sharing board with side of lobster and food was absolutely amazing, so full of flavour and cooked well. We will definitely be returning.

We thought the food was good but the service was poor. There was 6 of us put in the separate area on a bigger table. And felt we were just forgotten about. We had to ask for everything and try and catch peoples eye to get served. They didn’t seem interested in us at all.

Steak was tasty, but would have been good if each were labelled on the sharing board so you knew which part you were eating. Not a great deal of atmosphere but we did go in the afternoon.

Family birthday/Christmas meal (party of 9). We wanted to try this restaurant after being to the Tomahawk Steakhouse in Potto and thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall it was very nice, staff were very attentive when we first arrived and showed us to our table quickly. Food was very nice, not the best steaks we have had but very nice all the same, also could have been a little hotter. We waited a long time for staff to bring drinks to the table, one drink was spilt across the table and one of the drinks smelled very strongly of dishwasher soap. I don't think I would return here but would definitely return/recommend the Potto restaurant.

Very nice steak complimented with a lovely sauce. Staff where very pleasant. Where seated in a booth which was massive so it was great to have extra space.

Great service, food is unbelievably tasty but portion size is just way too small. Didn’t feel that it was worth the £130 or particularly good VFM.

The restaurant was great, atmosphere and setting was top class. The food was amazing and the staff were all very helpful. Only criticism was the man that greeting us upon arrival never said hello he just found out booking on his iPad then took us to the table without speaking a word, could of been a friendlier welcome. Everything else was brilliant.

Fab Sunday lunches always ..and great choice of gins ..lovely atmosphere.. and great service from jessica our waitress , professional and friendly...we will be back soon!

Amazing food in a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. It was our second time eating here and I’m sure we’ll be back again sometime as they serve the best steaks in the area, we’d highly recommend it.
