Sadly the Beef Tasting Board contents lacking in taste and balance - too much low quality dry meat and little accompanyment (no vegetables and a spoon full of chips each). Reduce quantity of higher quality cut/dishes would have been better. Starters were both okay - just average. We won't be recommending this restaurant based on this experience.
Food fantastic and all staff extremely attentive, polite and helpful - will return
It was very nice. Would recommend. Would choose something different to eat as was not that satisfied with what. Chose.
Excellent food great service from very friendly staff. I would definitely go again just criticism the table for two where we sat was in the most stupid place so near the bar we got knocked by customers at the bar ..
Excellent food ambiance and service. Sticky Toffee Pudding Yum Yum!
First visit on a freind’s recommendation, and we will definitely return. Tasty, freshly prepared food (the busy kitchen is on full view), good atmosphere and excellent service. The noise level was high - but it was obviously a busy and popular restaurant on a Saturday night. Wide menu choice, with several pub food staples, but all served to a very high standard. A great find.
Nice ambience, great service, lovely pudding. Very disappointed in my fish pie, lots of cream sauce, mussels and squid, a little white fish and salmon. Think it needs a proper explanation for the pie on the menu. My friends mushy peas were like crisps. Rather overpriced. But it was full so lots of people are happy
Excellent food, excellent service, great meal out, would really recommend.
Excellent three course meal served by attentive staff in delightful surroundings
Very busy so service a bit slow... and noise levels high. Food excellent
Midweek visit everything good and enjoyable evening had with friends.
We had the beef sharing platter for two it was absolutely fantastic
Great food and great service , lovely to see the chefs doing amazing work , a real treat
First time I’ve had ceviche- raw fish with caviar- delicious! Thank you
Lovely setting and lovely people but food not what I thought to be 100%
Enjoyed the food. Very tasty crispy oriental pork starter in a very large bowl. Awkward to eat with knife and fork. Chop sticks would have been a nice option. The lamb Sunday roast was very good with a super array of vegetables which were the stars of the meal. A little pot of extra gravy would have made the meal, as the Yorkshire pud was very dry. The dining area is a little cramped with diners having to move to let others get to their seats but this is a querk of the cosy surroundings
Nice atmosphere for a late afternoon Sunday lunch. Beef, pork and lamb all good. Prawn and crayfish tails a bit disappointing though, too small, rice pudding delicious
Lovely food and excellent service. Would definitely recommend to others.
Lovely food. Shame they had run out of cheese souffle though.
A good experience apart from a long wait for food. It would have been a good idea to bring bread with the aperitifs. Good food and friendly service
the steak was superb ....both myself and my friend could not fault it, cooked to perfection
You can alway rely on The Wild Swan to provide beautiful food and great service
Excellent service and food, really enjoyed our lunch The restaurant is lovely and welcoming Drinks are reasonable Would easily recommend the Wild Swan to friends and family
Food was very good as was service, however we continuously had people coming through from the bar to use the toilet and squeezing past us when we were eating our meal. Only recommendation is that they don’t allow people in the bar to use the toilet in the restaurant.
Lovely food nice and hot very helpful staff nice n cosy I would highly recommend the wild swan this was our valentine's meal as work commitments through the week xx
Lively meal & venue & lots of extra choices on specials board. 1st time we've been & all 3 couples said they would be back.
The Wild Swan is great. Fabulous food - lovely atmosphere - welcoming staff. All made for the ideal evening meal. We will definitely be returning.
Lovely place and ambience. Staff are young and keen with excellent interaction skills. Food is freshly cooked and kitchen open to diners. Good choice of quality food. Definitely recommend.
My party of 4 were in Bar1. It was extremely noisy particularly when later diners from the othe room came in prior to eating. The staff were first class and the food plentiful and good quality . I will certainly go again, but not in Bar1 and not on for Sunday lunch,
I highly recommend this lovely pub, we had and excellent meal, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, there was a great menu choice, between us all we had the Fish and Chips, Steak Burger, Sea Bass special and Tandoori Lamb Shoulder, and will defintely be coming back.
Excellent meal in a lively and convivial atmosphere. The little room off the main dining was just right for our table of 8. Wonderful experience.
Great food backed up by very efficient service. Menu choice of some classic dishes offers great choice. Welcoming bar and excellent beer. Delivers every time!
Parents were visiting so brought them here as we had previously had a good experience. It was a fabulous evening - the food was amazing, there was a great atmosphere and great service!
Lovely food. Be aware that the portion of fish and chips from the early bird menu is a lot smaller than the one from the normal menu, though!
The food was beautiful & the service was great! Lovely staff happy and laughing. Really enjoyed my night there. Thank you. Can’t wait to come back
Sat in the doorway next to open fire. A lovely idea, but every time the door opened an arctic blast causes a plume of smoke from the fire to surge forward and deposit ash on us and our food. On top of that there was a group of about 20 people who stood around our table talking loudly and the staff did nothing to remind them that we were trying to have a meal. Clearly we were not going to be paying anywhere near as much as they were so perhaps our custom wasn't important. It was so noisy that my partner and I were unable to have a conversation. This was supposed to be a romantic night. The waiter naively asked if we were ok with the noise so I told him I was not satisfied. He offered to move us through into the bar! The bar! If I'd wanted a bar meal I would have gone for a cheap bar meal! I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! The only reason it was an amber and not a red is that the food was good.
Great menu and surroundings. Very friendly staff. Food was great and served well. Plates well presented and it all looked as tasty as it was. Quiet Monday night when we went, but they still had a roaring REAL fire in the grate.
Staff very attentive, food excellent and will definitely recommend The Wild Swan to anyone. The tables were a little too close together especially on route to the toilets.
On the whole a good night the pub was very busy so there were a few mix ups ... I wasn’t keen on my main course but the rest of our party were happy with theirs and the puddings were fab . The young staff did a very good job perhaps a bit keen at times but better that way than getting forgotten !
Great food and service - love it there. Will be there again in 2 weeks. Highly recommended- already been with 2 lots of friends but will take others over coming months.
Very nice setting, staff courteous and friendly. The food delicious and good chooof drinks. This is the second time we’ve been and would highly recommend it.
Good food as always, pleasant environment as always. Waiters cheerful and attentive. The Wild Swan is always a good bet for a meal. Highly Recommended.
What a refreshing change to find a pub that serves both excelent food and BEER. Lovely comprehensive menu, friendly attentive staff and warm welcoming ambiance. Will be back.
An enjoyable lunch with friends. Food was attractively served, lovely and hot. The only improvements I would suggest would be to provide more vegetables with mains and for the inn to invest in a better quality coffee making facility. Service was pleasant, welcoming and efficient.
We had a fantastic time here. The food was absolutely delicious (I highly recommend the black pudding scotch egg) and the staff were extremely friendly. Will definitely be returning.
Love the ambiance and the food. Staff attentive but not overly so. Good value for money. Great for any occasion but best to book as word is out and it can get very busy.
Really excellent food and very lovely staff...cosy warm restaurant, not hemmed in..great choices on the menu and really fresh fish... is now our food pub of choice
Excellent food, service and atmosphere as always. I have been several times and can’t fault anything- except the car parking arrangements. Please can this be improved?
Usual good food and not a complicated menu, ask not to be seated by the door as the winter breeze can interfere with your dining experience.
We had lunch on New Years Day. The restaurant was busy but the service was efficient and friendly. The food was excellent and we very much enjoyed our visit
