Always an enjoyable evening out, great food plenty of choice, friendly staff .

Food very good but waiting time for both courses was far too long. Handled very well by the manager but left feeling disappointed as it was an anniversary meal.

Highly recommend The Vernon, really enjoyed the lasagne (though beware the side salad comes with a dressing, think it was mustard, and may not be to everyone’s taste) and the sticky toffee pudding was divine! Looking forward to a return visit.

Went for lunch mid week for the first time and it was just as great as an evening meal. Always top standards from start to finish

Staff were very responsive, pleasant and appeared happy in their work. The food was very good value and the proportions were generous. The surroundings were clean and attractive and we will return soon.

Generally a nice visit however one of our party who never complains found his starter plate to be dirty and his main course Beer Battered Cod very greasy. It appeared to have gone straight from the fryer to the plate without being drained. So fish and chips were swamped with grease. Waitress was very co operative and took the meal off the bill. Everything else was fine.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated and very clean. The service was both excellent and friendly. The menu had plenty of choice and the food was very tasty. A very enjoyable lunch.

Beautiful food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Some of the portions could have been bigger but the presentation was lovely and the fizz was constantly topped up. A lovely evening.

Waiting staff very friendly and restaurant nicely presented. but we waited over an hour for starters for four people. Steaks were over cooked, fish was dry, steak pie was abysmal (was left) chips were over cooked and somehow soggy, vegetables overcooked - all round the food was disappointing. Which is a pity as the pub is nicely situated..... don’t think we will be going back ☹️

Excellent food very tasty, the cod was huge so beware. plenty of options to choose from. Good choice of well priced wines. Nice setting, very quirky inside.

Lovely food in a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were attentive when we needed to be but also left me and my friend to just sit and chat after we had finished eating. I would definitely go here again.

Plenty of choice on the menu and the food was well cooked and presented and delicious. The staff very pleasant and helpful and we sat chatting for ages and weren’t hurried at all. Great.

We had Sunday lunch which was excellent. Cooked to perfection, and served in good time. The staff were friendly and attentive. The dining area not too crowded and pleasant. Would definitely recommend to famyand friends.

Great country pub, has rooms that have been tastefully appointed, restaurant serves good home cooked fresh food. the "Cod to die for" is humungous... fully recommended

Food was good, service was ok but rushed as there was a Halloween theme in the bar area with a very loud band. They had run out of olives which I thought was not very good as it was still on the menu, a substitute was provided but not the same and we were charged the same price.

The staff at the Vernon were very helpful and attentive. The menu was varied with lots of choices the chef who can be seen working was excellent and service was fast. Good experience.

Fabulous food and good choice on evening meal. The staff were run of their feet and all seemed to be running around instead of a calmer manner. The only criticism with the food was that the cherry pie was a poor portion size compared to other puddings we ordered. Highly recommended.

First time for a Sunday lunch and amazing food as always and great value for money, 3 courses for £19 and great service by all the staff.

Amazing food as always! Love the open kitchen and get to have a peek at the other dishes when they come out. Not our first visit and going to go back to try out the Sunday roasts!

Fantastic experience down at the vernon, we had some fantastic food and the service and atmosphere was brilliant and I can only praise the chefs for their hard work. Will be definitely coming back, sooner rather than later

What a wonderful place with great food and super staff. It has a lovely ambiance and is excellent value for money. If your in the area it is a must visit.

We had a very good experience we didn't wait long for our meal they were very tentative and efficient would go there again definitely the kitchen was open to hatch so you can actually see what they're cooking

On the whole good food and excellent service, let down by the pastry on the cherry pie - not sweet, certainly not short to the bite and not cooked in places.

The food menu isn't the same as that shown on the website. If you want chips...perhaps a burger it is fine, but unfortunately the food doesn't match the decor which is smart and modern nor the drinks on offer.

Great food, lovely place, not very busy but service was slightly slow, and at the end had to chase them at the bar for the bill.

Beautiful hotel/restaurant. Friendly staff. Service and food very good. Only minor carp is that we were sat very close to the kitchen, so it was noisy. The ambience wasn't great. But I would certainly recommend.

On the evening of our visit the Vernon was Very busy and not as good as normal standard that we have come to expect. Staff very attentive as ever.

Food was good but on the pricey side, waiting staff need to put a bit more interaction with customers, it seemed like it was all a bit too much of an effort for them to exchange pleasantaries with the clientel. With a bit more effort it could make the dining experience a lot better.

Saturday evening at 8 pm for 4 of us. Lovely meal and a great atmosphere. Shall be going there again this Friday evening with some more friends.

nice food and nice atmosphere inside. we went there on Sunday and it was absolutely full of people. recommended for weekend dinners with family and friends

The Vernon is my favourite pub. It has massive car park and good fresh food. It has to be my favourite pub in west midlands :)
